Update - I just got an email from Thomann - they have declared the package lost.  Got offered a refund or a replacement.  Have opted for the replacement, on the basis that I'm willing to test my luck and the bass is £160 dearer at Andertons right now.

I bet they both turn up on the same day.

As @Dad3353@Dad3353 says, the bridge is a piezo unit so you'd want that and guts are contained in a large triangular(ish) metal box so could relatively easily be transplanted. A few people have done this with the six string guitars.

I'm pretty sure you won't be able to just get the electronics though.

I didn't like the look so gave it a pretty extensive makeover. There's a thread on here from years ago but I think the pictures were lost.

    From this,

And just to prove it can be, and is, gigged without worry,

No, nothing organised just a bit of a play along. I have no idea about inverters but if it means heavy investment in kit I won’t bother. Would rather hire a battery PA system or something. Really helpful comments though. Much appreciated.

Unfortunately I think you might find it financially unviable unless you can borrow something and make do. ☹️

  4. I have the same problem with my sixer. The only way I could get it to sound anything like even was to lower the pickups at the low end, and raise them almost to the point of touching the strings at the high end. Then add compression to even things out. The rest of the set-up is fine, and I tried new strings. It didn't make any difference.
