that makes sense, but I thought that it was done now via shapeshifters or embedded in the electronic tuners/pedals of the gig gears? I thought the shapeshiter feature was that? Or am I "blaspheming" here? ... also I understand the difference from a mechanical tool worth 30 £ vs a digital tool worth 200 maybe
An electronic shifter would shift the whole bass up or down at many tones as you like. But it couldn't shift a single string.

it was the European Union we were leaving. They didn’t have the intelligence to realise it’d open up trade/immigration with large trading blocs like India - which is lovely irony
The real reason so many Tories wanted Brexit was to rip up worker’s rights and “increase” production and also become a tax heaven- it’s an utter shambles
I ordered an amp from Thomann took 5 days to arrive. 45 days to return it!
All true. But you'll get the thread closed by mentioning it.
Brexit is a banned subject on here. You'll get a slap on the wrists for posting about it.

Really nice looking bass this. Especially at that price.
I've never owned a Jackson, but the guitarist in one of my old bands swore by their guitars.

I generally really don't like black basses, and I don't like Fenders. But somehow that's gorgeous!
I'm confused. 😂

Report them. It's against eBay rules to do that.

Humans have become way too attached to their 'smart' devices. Bringing us closer together by having us all stare at a screen...
I will ironically like this post. Considering in liking it by staring at the screen on my smart device. 😂

Nice one!
Well done. I'll give it a listen later. 👌

Agreed - and that too often manifests itself as people constantly squeezing past everyone in their row of seats during the performance to go to and from the bar ( and presumably therefore, the toilets).
I find this as puzzling as it is annoying, as, although I enjoy an alcoholic drink (or 3) as much as anyone, I prefer not to experience a gig through an alcohol-fuelled haze. Apart from anything else, ticket prices now are so high that the last thing I want to do is miss even a couple of minutes of the performance I've paid for.
I only drank at a stadium gig once. I spent the whole night p#ssing my leg off, and by the time the gig had finished I'd pretty much sobered up and was left with a banging headache.
Never again! 😂

For me the elephant in the room is.. who is this person and what’s his site so people don’t fall into this trap.
The clue is in the title.

When I was told by a management company in Glasgow, that my band had approached to take us onto their roster, that they couldn't take us on because, even though they liked our music, myself and the drummer were too fat.
I was 23.
...and I'm still fat.
Bass players are supposed to be. It was the drummer let you down. 😂

I don't know how you would even quantify "making it" in this day and age.
Big money record deals are mostly a thing of the past, except for the exceptional few, and even mega huge bands aren't making a lot from recording thanks to streaming services.

Never had any interest in being in a professional touring band. There are very few worse ways I can imagine making a living than constantly being on the road and in a different place every other day.
I picked up a bass at 15 because my mates were in a band and needed a bass player. I just wanted to hang about with my mates.
30 odd years later and my motivation is exactly the same. Put me in a room with people I know and get along with to create music and I'm happy as a pig in muck. Start talking about traveling here for this gig, and there for that gig and I have no interest. I can just about muster the energy for the occasional local gig. Other than that I'm not interested.

Can't you just use something in the public domain?
Any old classical stuff, Beefoven and the like, is usually fair game.

Fair play to em.
I'm not even 50 and I can't be arsed with gigging.
To still be enjoying it in their 70's / 80's I can't fault em.
What else are they gonna do? Sit around playing dominos.

No. I'm out of money. But the net effect is the same.

We're both wrong - it's spalted poplar.
I can take some, but this is a UK collection only sale.
Yeah I know. I'm just curious. It's a great looking bass. I just want to see the rest of it. 😁

Two years too early for me. I could tell you exactly what I was listening to in 1987. But in 1985 I was only 10 and didn't have either a Walkman or any interest in music.

I want Harley Benton to release an affordable multi scale (fanfret) bass.
The only thing on the market at the budget end is the Red Sub and from everything I've seen it seems to be utter junk.

Have you got any pictures of the rest of the bass? Headstock / tuners etc?
-
My main player is a Traben Neo LTD.
34" scale. Seymour Duncan Bassline pickups and preamp. Grover tuners including drop D. Brass adjusta-nut and the highest of high mass bridges.
Picked it up on eBay about 4 or 5 years ago under £300.
It plays and sounds absolutely superb.
I've thought about moving it on and buying something a little more "grown up", but I've never played anything that sounds or feels anywhere near as good. Certainly not in the price range I could afford.

Harley Benton 7 string
in Bass Guitars
Posted
I thought the BZ models had been discontinued a couple of years ago. I always fancied the 4 string version of this. Hopefully they'll reappear as well.
