Hi Funkle.
I’ve sent you a PM.

Hi.
I can’t recommend Steve more highly as a seller after buying his Schecter Hellraiser Extreme
recently. We had problems with DPD not updating the whereabouts of the bass for 2 1/2 days
but Steve did all he could to chase them and keep me informed and was always on the case.
Great communications throughout and when the bass came it was perfectly protected in
a hard case and double boxed , OH and bubble wrapped within the hardcase!
Basically Steve couldnt have been more helpful and reassuring with a bit of banter for good measure.
Description and specs very thorough and loads of good photos. All queries answered pronto too.
A top guy and an accomplished player , he knows his stuff and looked after his well gigged bass ,
excellent condition.
Thanks again Steve. I really appreciate all your help and care.

Thanks Steve. It’s a stunning example with just the one issue needing
technical expertise. Hence me expecting a techno wizz to buy it OR
someone with a luthier mate to sort it gratis.
It’ll be a cracker once sorted. It’s only 2 ounces more than my BB614.
Cheers 👍

Hi.
Original wording further below but after some work here is an………
UPDATE - since posting I’ve clamped neck 48hrs in 45 deg conservatory plus hairdryer
following luther advice - truss rod loosened, cradles for neck - cool overnight before
releasing clamp - adjust and leave 24hrs - DONE!!
Probably not enough heat but I’ll leave that to one of you Pros.
Result is that neck was very straight ( there was only a 1mm back bow anyway)
and current adjustment is as follows with no buzz except on B string beyond 15th fret
which isn’t an issue.
Relief under 7th fret ( fretted at 1st and 16th fret ) is 15 thou.
String heights above 12th fret ( when fretted at first ) are as follows
B 2.3mm E 2.2mm A 2.1mm D 2.0mm G 1.9mm No buzz 👍
I’m STILL Pricing this down for someone with the technical ability to have a look at this neck which did have a little
back bow but now adjusted with heat.Bass now playing fine so might take this listing down, keep the bass or sell elsewhere.
Otherwise this 2007 Old Violin Sunburst Yamaha is in excellent condition
with just one shallow scratch on the front near the top horn ( see close up photo ) and some tiny dints in the gloss
though gloss not broken, very small.Couple of very small scuffle marks on back of neck close to body pocket
must have done accidentally setting up the clamping.
I’ll keep monitoring the set up as only unclamped this morning ( Thurs 3rd July) and it
may keep settling. Message me if you want the latest.
Weight is 4.28kg , 9lbs 7oz so a great weight for a Fiver. Alder body.
Serial Number QNL313079 so made in May 2007.
Brand new set of D’Addario nickel roundwounds on it, 125 100 80 65 45.
I got ahead of myself and have taken delivery of a superb earlpilanz ( Ebay )
vintage cream pick guard , shown but not fitted , no screw holes.
If you would like this please ADD £25 to the price ( £37.50 I paid ).
The bass is as clean and tidy as it looks, the fret board is oiled and frets are polished.
As I’ve successfully straightened the neck since listing a few days ago I will
still let this go for £250 inc UK delivery for a few days only.
(£25 to add if you want the New Earlpilanz vintage cream pickguard)
I bought this in April , apart from me fitting a better ( IMO ) string tree it has all standard parts, and have
played it fine apart from the back bow meaning a high action initially but now a nice low action since
sorting the neck.
The truss rod is now righty tightened a good way but not fully.
So this is nicely playable as it is now.
I took it to Steve Barratt at guitarlodge.co.uk and he recommended
his heat treatment method to sort the neck and possibly shimming the truss rod.
My DIY effort has not involved a nut shim so I must have been lucky with my
clamping work.
The NUT is stiffish but no problem with a longer armed allen key. I’ve known stiffer ones
that do their job.
I decided to drop out of the Pro work as one of you
guys can do that for Free !
I also have a BB614 in Old Violin Sunburst so I might as well lose some money
on this and look for a different finish BB615.
Thanks for looking 🤓 and best to snap this up before I withdraw it as its playing so nicely
now and the Yamaha pickups sound awesome with the very useable Yamaha QC87550 Preamp.
Cheers. Quent
I’ll double box this. No gigbag.

Hi. I’ve just had a Glockenklang 3 band put into my 2005 BB614 which I bought
from Slapmonsta last Dec. He said prev owner Shepster had had the standard preamp
modified to include a push/pull volume pot which pops the bass into
passive mode. Apart from one older looking pot the shafts on the others
look a lot newer with bright looking shafts.
Spacing of the B,Mids, Treb pots on the board are 32mm and 32mm.
The board says Yamaha QC87550
This is a great option because the Yamaha pickups have legendary
power and passive tone. Note - there isn’t Tone control in passive mode but it’s
a quality sound and you can blend the pickups for variation anyway.
** The only caveat ( which Slapmonsta kindly alerted me to ) is that with full volume
in active mode , when you pull up the knob for passive the volume drops a lot BUT
when you roll OFF the volume control just a little , the volume leaps back to match the
full volume of active mode. **
None of us (owners) know why this is but it’s easy to roll off the volume.
Priced accordingly and includes UK mainland delivery.
I have another BB614/5 for sale like this ( another Glock mod ) which is Standard ( No passive )
so you might prefer that and it has the vol and blend larger knobs with it ( £30 inc delivery ).
Cheers. Quent.

Last photo now shows the slim epoxy resin build to correct bridge plate curve, before silver paint and
and addition of new black domed saddle screws.
Might do £405 with a new set of strings chucked in ( D’Addario Nickels or Steels ) and UK delivery.
OH ! did I mention the upgraded Hipshot USA tuners and Xtender? ( Yes, you did ! 😁)
Cheers. Quent

Prices reduced again so now Firm .
Thanks. Quent.
-
Hi. Now on offer elsewhere so reduced here to £450 including your
choice of D’Addario nickels or Pro Steels and UK mainland delivery.
If no strings needed £425.
If spare bridge pickup required add £35.
Let me know in a PM.
Many thanks. Quent

Hi everyone.
Update June 28th. Also now for sale , same Yamaha preamp QC87550 but with push/pull Passive option
on the Vol pot - thats for £40 inc deliv, please see other posting for that one.
Just moving this Standard preamp on at minimal price , kindly donated by Basschatter Lloydy
when I bought his Pewter Beauty not long ago. Also fits a BB615, same 32mm spacing between
the shafts on the board.
Full working order before Lloydy replaced it with a Glock 3 Band.
I include two original larger ( 20mm high 18.3mm diam and 6mm shaft hole ) heavy
chrome knobs with new O rings in each. I havent got the full 20 yr service history but the Vol Blend
splined pot shafts are 5.85mm outside diam but knobs tighten up OK with allen key.
( The Bass Mid Treb splined shafts are 6.0mm )
The fixed shafts on the board are 32mm centres x 2.
The securing nuts and washers are there.
Jack socket too. Photo now added.
One split shaft crimped up - an ill fitting push on knob I remember - the two allen keyed chrome knobs
included are from another BB614 I have ( bought some of those Hipshot lightweight ones from BD - £8 each! ) .
So, £30 including UK mainland postage.
Apart from seeing one pot is 500k on the photos I can’t help you with
any other electronic specs.
Cheers.

Hi every one. On offer elsewhere now so reduced to £390 Bass Only.
Prices now FIRM.
Specification screenshot photos now added ( forgot to include! )
Photo added of narrow epoxy resin bridge plate curve correction ( cosmetic only)
£390 for just the bass ( plus cheap new gig bag and UK mainland delivery )
£405 with your choice of D’Addario nickels or steels 45 65 85 105 which fit this bass through body.
Let me know if you would like the spare bridge pickup mentioned below , add £35 so
£440 gets you Bass, Strings, spare Bridge Pickup. ( V Slight wear to current cover under E and A Strings. Minimal)
I bought this 2020 beast of a bass from Mudpup late last year
and absolutely love the variation of tones achievable with
the Bartolini MK1 pickups ( they are both reverse P pups inside
the soapbar covers ) and 3 band Bartolini MK1 pre amp.
Electronics , truss rod and hardware all working as they should.
Specifications listed in the photos, also some Cort site info there.
The 2 way switch is for Active/Passive - In passive mode the battery
still powers the pickups signal but bypasses the 3 band and gives a
more organic tone than the active 3 band pre amp can produce.
So it is indeed the passive tone of the pickups but then powered
to the jack socket.
People often state that the passive tone is the “ same as active with the
BMTreble controls at centre detent “ - it’s just their opinion but it doesn’t
describe how good the passive sound is and misleads people to thinking
you might as well not bother flicking the switch at all. It definitely is !
Upgraded previously so it sports a set of silver satin headed
USA made Hipshot Ultralite tuners AND matching Detuner.( Check out BD tuner prices , 180 for these 3 and the Xtender vs standard non usa licensed set approx 80 , then sell those. )
These get the weight down to 3.96kg , 8lbs 12oz ( photo of scales ).
I’ve since stumbled on another bass , the same model but a
few ounces lighter. Definitely in the Senior age group I just prefer
a lighter bass these days and , playing at home only ,
I can grab a Fiver rather than detune (and have to learn a song another way)
so someone else can make better use of this upgraded tuner set.
I can easily remove the silver fretboard markers and black ones which
cover the original inset abalone ones which are shown in some of the pics.
Let me know.
I’ve made two cosmetic renovations to this bass which look neat and blend nicely with it’s rugged blue/black/ hippy purpley flamed looks.
I used acrylic paints to go over the body top edge , at the forearm rest area which was noticeably rubbed pale ( photo). So it was the finish rubbed off rather than any wood wear. Body edge just south of the bridge too. Pretty good match and a final matte acrylic lacquer coat so this is durable and , being water based, you or I can reverse this finish with some rubbing with a damp piece of cotton cloth. I know because I took 3 attempts to be happy with it ! 😁 It blends in fine , and your arm covers it when playing anyway.
The Hipshot bridge’s base plate casting rear end curve was not symmetrical. Purely cosmetic again but it was driving me nuts so I used epoxy resin ( “Steel”) which worked a treat. Great adhesion to the metal and then easy to fine finish and shape. It’s only a small visible silver painted area and sits well with the other parts of the bridge. The correct shape now matches the body recess curve.
See last photo (just added ) to show the dark grey small epoxy resin build before I silver painted it.
Replaced the pickup screws and black dome headed machine screws which
were worn.
It’s loaded with D’Addario Pro Steels, only light use. There’s no visible fret wear and the 2020 spec Panga Panga ( a type of Wenge ) board has a good looking parallel grain all along it. Nice and dark.
The only slight wear is under the E and D strings on the bridge pickup cover
towards the neck side. I collected this bass from Mudpup and didn’t
notice the cover wear until I got home so it’s not unsightly. The photo
angle taken exaggerates the issue. Not uncommon when a raised pup is preferred ( Steel strings used too ) and I’ve seen it on a neck pickup before. I lowered the pickup a little and don’t play hard.
No problem. These Bart covers are tough plastic and a good 2mm thick.
I do have a spare used , unmarked and perfect working order bridge MK1
pickup (Bartolini label is T for treble) which you can have for £35 ( my cost price) which you could fit. That came from someone else’s A4 too. ( 108mm x 34mm)
A very comfortable bass. Nice volute on the neck. 38mm at the nut.
String spacing at saddles is just under 19 mm ( 56mm E to G centres ).
No neck dive ( small head stock ) and the matte finish all over ( inc neck )
feels as cool as it looks. 😎
All very clean , so ready to pick up and play.
UK mainland delivery included with Fedex. I’ll double box
with inner and outer cardboard boxes or cheapo but new gig bag.
Specification below after 3 photos.
Later photos of bass on a towel are when I first received it and before
I’d thought of painting over the worn areas, so you can see how the
body edge was had a dark edge around the butt end.
Wiring diagram for Sparkies, has A6 noted but the same set up.
Bartolini MK1 pups and Pre.
I have sets of either - D’Addario EXL165SL
45 65 85 105 Nickel plated round wounds or their Pro Steels EPS165 which
also fit the bass through body. £420 with a spare set of those.
The Pro Steels on it haven’t been used much and remember those
USA Hip Shot Tuners and the free UK insured mainland delivery.
Thanks for looking and have a good Easter.

I just bought Lloyd’s pewter Yamaha BB614 ( previously Andy T’s I see above, so it’s still in good hands Andy! )
I couldn’t be happier with dealing with Lloyd. Great price, excellent packing, rapid dispatch and
24 hr delivery. Upgraded with a Glockenklang 3 band , I can tell you it really brings out the max
of the great Yamaha pickups and would recommend that upgrade to other fans considering it.
Thanks again Lloyd 🤓👍.

I just bought Jon’s Cort A4 Plus FMMH and it couldn’t have been easier with
great helpful messaging and rapid responses. Generous deal on a v good
Gator gigbag and a strap thrown in for good measure.
The bass is set up great and no working issues whatsoever.
A pleasure to meet you for the collection Jon and good luck in 2025.
All the best. Quent

Sorry Geronimo. I clearly missed seeing your reply in 2022. I sometimes lose
track of smaller items I am selling and only see PMs.
Now gone I’m afraid.
My apologies and hope you are having a great Christmas break.
Cheers.

Thanks for that Cocco 👍 and - Danny , I hope you get over your GAS soon -
by getting your very own Fender American Elite Jazz V !!
Trouble is, there’s only mine available.

Hi. Here is my mint condition Sire P7 2nd generation 5 string bass
which I bought new in Jan 2019 ( Made in 2018 ).
It’s only had occasional home use here due to competition
from my other 5 and 4 string basses. Hence the Mint condition
with no blemishes, swirls or dents. Just as it came out of the
Sire box. Selling because………….I bought a white one the same.
( I know. Couldn’t stop myself! )
The gloss black finish is superb and the pickups
pre amp, truss rod , bridge and tuners all function perfectly.
The bass has an Alder body, beautiful Ebony fingerboard with
pearloid block markers, rolled edges and classy white binding.
The maple neck has a satin urethane finish for a non stick, fast feel.
A superb rocking powerhouse of a bass which can also cover a
variety of subtle tones. Passive or Active with the awesome
18v powered 3 Band onboard Preamp. Both batteries checked
this week, both reading 9.37v , not new but still on full output.
Well balanced at 4.5kg , 9lbs 15oz whether standing or sitting.
Strung with D’Addario 130 - 45 nickel plated roundwounds.
34 inch scale, 46mm nut width and 18mm string spacing
at the saddles.
More specification detail in the photos (screenshots) below.
Truss rod and saddles allen keys included and I’ve taken off the
body end strap button for the journey , it’s wrapped up and in the
pouch with the allen keys safely away from the bass.
This is a 2nd Generation Sire P7 in Perfect condition and
please bear in mind I’ve included UK mainland Fedex insured
delivery ( It’s £20 extra to N.I and islands , so I’ve discovered so
you’ll need to cover that. Thanks.)
It’ll be double boxed (Sire Marcus Miller inner box )and padded well.
Thanks for looking.

Hi everybody.
This Fender American Elite Jazz V ( made 2016 ) is in
excellent / V Good condition overall for an 8+ year old bass.
The original owner gigged it occasionally before I bought it in
July 2019. Since then it has only had limited Home use only
as it competes to get played with my other basses.
There’s some very slight fret wear under the D string from
frets 2 to 7 , hardly visible, which I noticed when polishing
the frets this week.
The black gloss body gleams. One small dink near
the chrome control plate , top side, and one on the back
face close to the jack. Some other mini pits but please see
the photos to see how minor they are. The finish is not broken.
Still no sun here so took the photos today in the conservatory.
Hence reflections of roof panel parallel lines, moss lumps
and palm leaves.
I’ve also had a 4 string Elite Jazz since 2016 and will keep
that, so now it’s time to let someone else have the pleasure of
this superb Fiver. Fender’s top of the range, with it’s Noiseless
pickups, powerful pre amp and excellent build quality.
Many consider the Elite series Fenders ( 2016-2020) their best.
Played it this morning. No issues whatsoever.
It’s so impressive in Passive mode and truly exciting in Active mode.
The bass really does look stunning and is in perfect working order.
All original apart from an identical WD Music pickguard I bought.
Truss rod lever, saddle key and Schaller strap Locks are
included and the original Fender Tag. Both batteries read
9.36v today, so it’s ready to leap out of your cabs!
Well balanced whether standing or sitting at 4.56kg 10lbs 1oz.
Alder body, maple neck with gloss finish , pearloid black blocks
and black binding. Delicious!
34 inch scale. 46.7mm nut. 17.5mm string spacing at saddles
currently - adjustable , via the grooved saddles.
Price for this much sort after and currently very rare Black/Maple
stunner includes insured UK mainland delivery in the original
Fender Elite Moulded hardshell case, then a large outer box.
I’ve searched and can’t find another Black/ Maple Elite Jazz V
so you might have to act quickly to secure this.
Thank you for looking.

£340 without the new gig bag and D Tuner. £370 with them
I’ll withdraw this next week so last few days for you
to own this superb bass.
Thanks for looking.

Just a heads up that I’ll take close offers to £425 now
but I’ll move this on elsewhere at the end of October.
A superb instrument. Tap the photos to enlarge and zoom in
further on that binding ! Enjoy! Cheers. Quent.

Quite right Dirgefornovember! Don’t sell it for less because these Korean made ones are really great basses
and , from forums , I’ve read that they do come “close “ to the German made equivalent so
any of the short Korean era basses are made superbly. I have a Korean Streamer LX 4 with
passive single coil pickups too and they punch as strong as you want.
I’ve got this one’s sister or brother with exactly the same Made date ! A red one I got
from BDirect so have a bump on me and GLWT.
Cheers.

Just bought Muzz’z Yamaha BB414 well used but in good condition and as described.
Muzz helped with all my enquiries and gave me a very fair price. Really well packaged
and dispatched as we had planned which helped me too.
Great Basschatter so thanks again Muzz 👍👏👏👏👏.
