Welcome Marco

Came across this by chance and I like the groove, it’s by Dope Lemon , who I’ve never heard of before
-
Pretty sure we’ve had this before but I really enjoyed hearing it today on one of the reggae stations I listen to , quite a classic

Do you think they do this deliberately to make people contact them, I’ve asked many times for more info and pictures of neck stamps, pickup dates etc and they’ve sent them back almost immediately, so they already have the details but just don’t put it on their website

Any other fans seen it yet
Haven’t seen it yet gasman, I’ve only seen the trailers but I’ll be checking it out as soon as I get a chance, good to hear you saying it’s worth it

Listening to some Junior Byles today, probably better known for his tune Not fade away , which is a classic, nice bassline on this

This is one I’m learning at the moment, it’s Robbie Shakespeare and quite challenging for me, nothing really consistent, I’m ok up to about 1.38 so far then I’ve got to start breaking it down slowly

Lovely nilo, congratulations

I bought a precision a while back which came with the labella jamerson flats 52-110 fitted, they are way too heavy for me so I put my usual LTF’s on 42-100 , no problems whatsoever, I’d say you’ll be fine

Personally I prefer Slip Girls.
My son used to listen to slipknot, a few tracks are not bad, bit heavy for me though 😁

So I’m a month in and she’s playing like a treat. I’d been toying with the idea of getting. Fender P bass but picking this up has me questioning what I’d gain from it.
Top job there swills, it looks really cool, imo I can’t really see what more you would gain by buying a fender precision (and I’m a fender fanboy), you got nice pickups and loom and it plays good, the only difference would be the name on the headstock

Thanks Tony,
Yes - it’s yet another one I should have kept🙈🙈 It had a B neck, played like the proverbial dream with a ridiculously low action & a lovely sounding powerful pick up, which measured 11. something on the Richter scale A session Chap came all the way up from ‘that’ London & loved it. I’d love another 60’s P but the prices have gone a bit nuts now, but because I was missing the AVRI so much, I’ve bought another one😃😃🙈🙈👍👍
Cheers,
Tim
I’ve still got the one I got from you Tim and play it all the time , it’s not going anywhere 👍

I’m sure some of you have already seen this, but if your interested in sly and Robbie this is probably one of the best interviews out there, lots of really good information

I've been listening to a lot of Johnny Osbourne lately (ahead of seeing him and Horace Andy live soon).
Truth wave Rights being one of my favourite reggae tunes, but 'Never Stop Fighting' is a great album, these first 3 tunes especially:
(the scientist dubs are also really good, on 'Scientist Wins the world cup')
Great selection there SumOne, I’m also big Johnny Osborne fan , especially when backed by the Roots Radics, Flabba lays down some of those basslines like no one else

Did them on Mustangs too if that counts (1966 maybe 67 too)
Nice one, thanks ped, I thought I’d only seen them on jazzes , perhaps they used them on all their basses at that time
