9. Hi, There is another BC member interested in the amp but as of this moment the amp and cabs are still offically for sale. Col
10. I'm no expert on these things but I assume the speaker is working in the reverse principle to a regular ported cabinet. In other words instead of porting the speaker from the rear it is ported from the front. This should provide the cone with similar loading properties and the fact that the sound is radiated from the rear of the cone instead of the front of the cone is departure from the conventional 'speaker pointing forward in a box' design. Electrovoice have used this principle in a number of their cabinets including the bigger brother, the T-18 and MTL-4 and MTL-2 used in the big PA rigs in the 80's. All I can say is that I have used the cabs for several years now in a 4 piece band line up and have been very pleased with them. They are reasonably compact and manageable and they both fit into the rear of a Peugeot 205 as the old lead guitarist will confirm! The only reason for selling them is that I am now working in an 8 piece band and have needed to 'up the game' to a somewhat larger and heavier system. PM replied to.
11. A couple of items for sale:- QSC RMX 1450 power amplifier. The amp is capable of 450 watts per channel or 1400 watts bridged into 4 ohm. more detailed specs can be found at http://www.qscaudio.com/pdfs/Specifications/RMX_spec.pdf I've had the amp for about 5 - 6 years and it's never missed a beat, being used for running tops within a small PA system. Overall condition is very good as can be seen from the photos as the amp has been racked up the entire time. There is a small scratch on the top cover but once it is in a flight case you can't see it. The only reason I'm selling it is that I've gone the lightweight route as with a couple of these in a flightcase it's becoming a bit much.............it's an age thing! Collection would be preferred from near Stratford upon Avon but could post / courier but I would imagine this would be a little expensive. - Sold A pair of Electrovoice S181 bins / subwoofers. These include protective covers and speaker pole mounting. 18" EV driver in each cab of 8 ohms, rated at 400watts. The cabinets are in tidy condition as they have been transported with transit covers. More detailed specs can be found at http://archives.telex.com/archives/EV/Spea...S-181%20EDS.pdf. The cabinets have been modified with 20mm screw plate to make provision for a mounting pole to allow a top cab to be mounted. One small point to mention is that the connection plates on the rear of the cabinets are different. For some reason best known to themselves EV decided to change the design at some stage but this is purely cosmetic and does not influence the performance in any way. If you are using EV SX300's or something similar then these will compliment them no-end. £240. Collection only on these. If any further information is needed on either item please get in touch. 14. The quest to thin out some of my gear continues so here are a few more items for sale. Protex Flight Case Twin PAR 56 case - two compartments to accommodate 8 x PAR56 lanterns on two 'T' bars. Strong polypropylene construction but lightweight. Unused, still in cardboard box. £35. Electrovoice S181 - Pair of subwoofers, includes protective transit covers and speaker pole mounting. 18" EV driver in each cab, very tidy condition. Spec can be found at http://archives.telex.com/archives/EV/Spea...S-181%20EDS.pdf. The original design did not have provision for a mounting pole to allow a top cab to be mounted but these have been modified with a 20mm screw plate to allow this. If you are using EV SX300's or something similar then these will compliment them no-end. £250. Zero 88 - Lightmaster XL - lighting desk. The unit has 12 channels which can be used to control lighting via DMX or the older analogue +10V system. The unit can be programmed with sequences and also has provision for midi control. Comes with full flightcase. A copy of the manual can be found here giving full details.http://www.gradav.co.uk/images/pdfs/39.pdf - £110. 18" Driver - Precision Devices PDN.18SB40 - uses a neodymium magnet so really lightweight for this size of driver - 8 ohm voice coil. Spec can be found here http://www.precision-devices.com/ShowDetails.asp?id=72. The driver has literally had about 20 minutes use and was used to test out a PA cab I was experimenting with that didn't go any further, so the thing is almost new. The price at Blue Aran is £188 so £120 has to be reasonable. Rack style – 2U – ali / ply construction, very little use. Has quite a deep centre section (46cm) so more suited to power amps etc. £20 Photos can be made available for anyone interested, just PM me. I'm located not far from Stratford on Avon. Due to the size and/or weight of most of the above postage / courier is not going to be practical but I'm willing to investigate costs if necessary.

18. Thanks for the tips everyone. I'm just off up north to visit my son so I'll report back the findings tomorrow. All the best, Col
19. Thanks for the responses. I had already spoken to their service department and as you say they were very helpful. They suggested it may be one of the internal fuses but my experience is that if a fuse does blow with such force then it is indicative of other problems. It won't be a problem to repair the amp, I am just trying to go as best prepared as possible in order to avoid having to bring the amp home and thus shipping it back again. All the best, Col
