  1. SOLD......Since my transition from drums to bass iv'e made a lot of changes in the studio and have come to the realisation some major downscaling is required. I really don't need to multitrack 16 mic's anymore.... Allen and Heath ZED R16 in brilliant condition, only 3 years old. Will come with fitted cover [bought separately] all original boxes/packaging and manual. This has never been out of the studio. Desk is in Coleshill, north Warwickshire just off J9 M42. I am happy to deliver this within a reasonable distance as i'm not thrilled trusting it to a courier. http://www.allen-heath.com/ahproducts/zed-r16/ Industry standard, cracking piece of kit, check out the reviews on the net. Regards John Allen & Heath ZED R 16 Allen & Heath ZED-R16 Firewire Mixer combines an imaginative feature set with professional build quality to create the ideal centrepiece for any project studio with big ideas, or larger studios with dedicated live rooms. The Allen & Heath ZED-R16 combines an analogue recording mixer with a FireWire soundcard, MIDI controls and ingenious ‘home-studio’ routing so you can build tracks in the studio, record live gigs, mix-down, remix… all through warm analogue circuitry, 4 band fully parametric classic British EQ and out to crisp, precise digital format. Control room speaker and alternate speaker outputs, plus two separate artist monitor feeds are provided. In addition to the digital inter face, two analogue recording outputs are also available. The Allen & Heath ZED-R16 even has a dedicated internal condenser talkback mic. Features such as the dual function audio/MIDI faders and built in sequencer transport were dreamed up by engineers who have home studios themselves, so they’ve made sure they’ve built in features they really need. The internal soundcard of the Allen & Heath ZED-R16 features 18 FireWire inputs and 18 outputs plus 16 ADAT I/O. Each channel on the mixer has its own independent soundcard channel so instruments can be recorded simultaneously (pre or post EQ) and into the sequencer separately. To minimise clock jitter and provide synchronicity between the ZED-R16 and other devices, the mixer is equipped with the professional JetPLL digital audio chipset. In addition to multi-track recording, the Allen & Heath ZED-R16 allows mixing down in analogue, then recording back into the computer in digital. The bundled SONAR LE software makes this a breeze. The ZED-R16 can be a versatile live FOH mixer too. In this mode, its 4 aux buses become foldback feeds and FX sends, and the main XLR outputs feed the PA system. Recording the live gig is straightforward; the record feed signal can be easily assigned using the four buttons next to the faders. Allen & Heath ZED-R16 main features include: 26 simultaneous inputs and outputs Two FireWire connectors, 18 FireWire inputs and 18 outputs plus 16 ADAT I/O Professional JetPLL digital audio chipset 4 ADAT optical sockets Two stage low-noise pre-amp design EQ: two swept, fully parametric mids, plus high and low shelving Two pre and two post aux buses Talkback function Professional 100mm faders MIDI section designed to control software transport, with extra user mappable controllers All of the channel faders can be switched to become MIDI controllers Features: Manufacturer: Allen & Heath Microphone Channels: 16 Signal Processing: Analog AUX Channels: 4 EQs: 4-Band Low Cut: Yes Phantom Power: Yes Integrated Audio Interface: Yes Parametric Mid EQ: Yes Weight (kg): 12.5

  9. What a beautiful bass. Had i seen it earlier....... Enjoy.
  10. Thanks...Bass is a natural side step for me as a 'musical' drummer...... Now there's a novelty, 'drummer' and 'musical' in the same sentence. Literally very drummer in the 60's 70's and even some in the 80's were musical, they had to be. Now there are drummers that cant even spell 'musical'..... Guitar is something i would liked to have tried from day one had i not picked up a pair of sticks.....Now as my fingers get more accustomed to bass strings i occasionally pick up one of my buddy's Ibanez guitars when we are putting something together in the studio and the strings are like razorblades!...
  11. Thanks for the welcome chaps, nice to know there's some knowledgable guys on here....Certainly seems a busy forum.
  12. Hi all... A quick hello form me....Basschat was recommended to me from a bass player friend. Iv'e been a drummer since the 80's, but all that bashing stuff about for years has taken it's toll..... Tendonitis and arthritis amongst other un-drum friendly ailments have forced my decision to quit the skins. So.....I'm not quitting music, just how i make it and on what. Bass has been a close relation for pretty much all my musical life....After all we play together right!. It has been something i tinkered with as a second instrument but i didn't really give it any real consideration as drums have always been my 'thing'....All this is changing My musical tastes are wide and varied , The Beatles, Deep Purple, Rush, Floyd, Zepp were my earliest inspirations in the 60's/70's, and i guess still are part of my musical make-up.....Loved the 70's soul/funk scene mainly because of the bass players. I'm mainly rock oriented though, whichever form it comes...if i like it, i err, like it! I have a Yamaha TRB1004NT for some time now, had a Squier jazz for a while and a Spector Legend 5 which was nice but the 5 string wasn't really working for me and i recently sold my Yamaha TRBX504. I still go back to the 1004 as it is such a nice instrument and iv'e yet to own anything that sounds half as good. Hoping a Sandberg TM4 will fix this when the right one appears. I have a studio in the garden from a converted garage where i spend most of my time writing/composing/recording etc etc.... I live in North Warwickshire with my long suffering partner and our little boy 'Jack' who isn't my biological son....He's a canine!. Thanks for listening and for those of you that haven't nodded off reading this i'll close now before i do! Regards John
