1. Deal just fell through - Still available ....
2. Thanks for all trade offers submitted so far folks - Plenty interesting stuff out there ....
3. Hi folks - Looks like my Glock cab is going to be on its way, so I am now looking for a trade for the head (options detailed above) or straight sale at £400/430 (with or without flightcase) - Just got it serviced so it is now A1 - Cheers. Why? Because I need something much lighter for the types of gigs I am getting now - Pure and simple. It's a great setup in very good condition (A few cosmetic scratches here and there, but has been kept in a flight case in my studio for the last 4 years and ungigged). Details are as follows: Glockenklang Heart Core Head Power rating: 400 watts into 4 Ohm Weight: 27 lbs, 9 oz http://www.glockenklang.de/en/test.htm for the bass player test This gear is the dogs !! It is hand made (with lifetime tech support) – High end German gear that reproduces the sound of the bass with a HiFi sound like no other equipment available. Plenty more photos available on request - Forgive the ones on here - I will take more when I get a chance. What am I looking for in exchange? TC electronic 450 or 750, Genz Benz, Hartke 1000, TecAmp, Markbass or WHY ? Something loud enough for medium sized gigs and versatile, in very good condition with no issues and easily transportable. Cash, a Korg toneworks DTR-1 rack tuner and bass pod XT live with the line 6 carry case available to tip the balance if required.
4. Thanks guys The main thing is that I have had a load of correspondence with some really nice, genuine bass enthusiasts on here and now have several options that all satisfy my original requirement for a trade. So, unless I get something amazing offered in the next day or so, the deal should be done pretty soon, as I would have expected for such a beautiful Overwater. KTB
5. Thanks Daf - Have done - Hope all is well with you
Hi Kev, might be worth mentioning in the title that it's a 6 string - to help find the right audience.
6. Unfortunately, this type of sidetrack is exactly what I didn't want to happen on my thread - I put an item up for trade - It's a gorgeous, one off custom build six string from one of the worlds pre-eminent builders in absolutely pristine condition and I need to exchange it for a 5 string due to the nature of the work I am getting at the moment. My thread has now been disturbed, if not hijacked and may have jeapordised my chances of getting the deal I want for the bass. It's a shame and it's not something I would do myself but it is the nature of advertising on a public internet forum. Thanks to all the genuine, discrete PMs I have received so far on the bass. KTB
7. I have been asked about the weight of the bass - It weighs about 9-10 pounds - A surprisingly easy gig for such a monster bass .....
8. The bass is a one-off Overwater Progress Three Custom Deluxe six string bass. It was delivered in April last year (2009) and is almost unplayed - it is entirely as new - indeed, apart from a professional set up with Overwater, it is as it left the workshop. I can't emphasise just how gorgeous this bass is. Just a few features: (Surprisingly) Lightweight central American mahogany body Burl poplar facings (with black accent) Maple and purpleheart neck Birds-eye maple fingerboard Pickup covers in burl poplar Kent Armstrong (designed for Overwater) pickups Overwater 3 band EQ Abalone dots Abalone logo inlay Burl poplar facing on head The bass plays beautifully and sounds superb - Overwaters are the choice of a lot of UK session players (they're so playable and versatile). This one really looks a bit special and comes in a Hiscox liteflite case. Original price was just over £2650 (now it would be £2790 apparently). Next sentence edited _ it's not the same bass as the one on the Overwater site - Very similar though. it's a 35" scale bass, with a long upper horn and bridge very near the edge of the body --> not much of a reach at all! Neck dimensions: width @ nut: 59 mm width @ 12th fret: 85 mm depth @ 1st fret 23 mm depth @ 12th fret 23,5 As I am not playing the jazz gigs that justified owning this beautiful instrument anymore, I am now looking for a straight trade or a trade UP (ie I pay some cash) for the following instruments (5 Strings only) Xotic USA Sadowsky Aleva Coppola Fodera Bossa Skjold F bass Dingwall Roscoe Other exotic basses along these lines - PM's only - Don't really want a public discussion of "Great bass - If only I had the money etc" sorry. No lower value basses, 4's or 6's considered - Loads more pics available on request. Thanks for looking, bass dudes ....
9. Thanks all - it was a great sounding instrument - Wonder if there are any in the UK ?
10. Hi folks I went to see Larry Carlton last night, with his son Travis holding down monster bottom end and soloing all over the place. He was playing this bass - Some kind of super jazz 5 string - It sounded absolutely killer - Does anybody recognise it ? http://www.scotthenderson.net/travis.htm
11. Ville is 100% trustworthy and very easy to deal with. The bass arrived within the time he indicated and was exactly as described - In perfect condition in an unmarked case. Thanks Ville - A credit to Basschat.

15. Pre Ernie Ball, 2 band Stingray with a maple neck - No competition - If you find a good one
16. Does anyone use the Line 6 as only an FX unit ?? Really happy with the sound of the Lakland 55-94 through the Glockenklang but want to try a bit compression/rev/mod Tried the FX send/return with "no amp" setting but - nothing - Don't want to interfvere with the original bass+amp sound really Anybody?
17. Now sold to pay for my new Lakland US 55-94 bought from chopthebass on here last week :-) Drool ......
18.
possibly a swap with a musicman sub?
Thanks for the kind offer but I have bought a new 5 and the missus will notice if I have any more basses lying about so it's 1 out, 1 in :-) Thanks, KTB
19. Finally got round to putting this on evil bay due to impending buy of another bass from this very board (details to be revealed as soon as it is residing in my studio) http://ngvi.ebay.co.uk/vi?ngvi&backtoi...INpaDP6dcxgw%3D It's a beaut - sounds great and is versatile enough to cover rock to jazz. PM me to buy direct on here or for more info if required.
20. One more weekend - There are some nice 5's out there - so do me a deal Or just buy it so I can buy a 5 ??
