I've not used the SBL strap but I know thst they are made by Ergo Straps, so it might be worth checking them out. I'm very tempted by one.

Thank's Doddy for the info about Ergo Straps. More expensive than the Gruv Gear.

Currently I'm using the Gruvgear Solo Strap Neo in 2.5” cause 4” are too large for me, too close form my neck and have a tendency to hurt it.

OK, that's ominous. Is there a known issue with these units only lasting three years?

Contacted, Xvive in China asks me 100 € transport included to change the battery or offers me to buy a new one.

Luckily there is an internet link from a guy who explains how to change the battery yourself. I did it but you have to be meticulous. The battery can be ordered in China for less than £ 10.

They would have put some screws in it , we could do it easily.

Xvive seems to be a good solution for the many that use them. Hardly a big issue considering how long they will last.

It last 2 or 3 years for 115 pounds. It's not a bargain. And planned obsolescence.

Contacted, Xvive in china asks me 100 pounds to change the battery which costs around 7 pounds both on the net.

Xvive sound good but is not intersting.

  4. I have the Xvive and I must say that it is difficult to change the battery when it is dead (after 3 years). Contacted, Xvive asks me 100 € to change the battery which costs less than 10 € on the net. Here is a video link to change the battery.

You have to be meticulous. I dismantled mine and will order 2 batteries. But I also finally ordered a Smoothhound. Prefer to buy a system with screws, not sealed.

  5. To return to the subject and in case of breakdown of the tube, although this breakdown is very rare, it is always possible  to change on the preamp the input of the pickup bridge to put it in the aux input., the socket next to the bridge pickup. That way, you bypass the tube, (and equalize if I can remember), and  the sound is coming out of the bass. You can play.

  6. Hi Everybody

I'm interest in the Furch Fretless Bass, but It is to be used everytime amped. On the web, Every time I look at a vidéo, the sound is taken from a static mic whitch is  in front of the bass. Impossible to listen to the internal pickup. So I wonder if somebody can tell me about the sound of the bass comming from the internal pickup, or a vidéo. That bass is probably made first to be played accousticly, and probably has a high level but what is the value of the system inside ? Is it good or bad ?

I have a Takamine TB10, very happy of this bass but the access of the upper register is quite difficult. And the Furch seems more accessible. I play mostly jazz.

Thank's by advance to all the Furch users and pardon me for my poor english.

Good idea because this week I  just bought a Fusion Bag for my electic bass, and as you said, in this bag there is a very good neck brace,

I will contact them to ask them  to sell me one for my cello bag.

Now, just for talk and if that can help others, I found that also:

  8. Thank’s for the term: Neck Brace.
Searching with this word, I found that:

    https://gruvgear.com/products/extra-foam-neck-brace-for-gigblade
There is no velcro for maintaining the neck without moving, but I can always fix one, I have some of these.
I am searching a neck brace because I use a cello bag for my Taka TB10, but the bass is moving inside the bag.

Thank’s to everybody for your answers, and let’s continue the thread in case others could have some answers.
Hope that could help some others bass players too.
