ha ha ha .. I'm a moron! *nothing to see here* It does quite clearly say "patch select" .. not patch buttons!

If it makes you feel any better, you are not the only one :) ...I did exactly the same

2. If I were you I'd try loosening the neck screws a bit, no need to take the off, and reposition the neck so G and E string are equally aligned.
Then play the bass and see how it feels, if it feels right that's it, problem solved...if it doesn't then contact the dealer.
It could be the neck has moved in transit or it wasn't properly attached from factory.
I have seen this issue on a few Fender, I have one that came like that, I did the mentioned procedure and it plays wonderfully.

If you are using the blend a bit then set the attack to have the shortest response(I'd assume it's high) and the release as long as possible.

The dry blend will bring back the note dynamic and the wet will have the fattier and more sustained note.
I use a much bigger parallel compression and have the comp set to be basically on all the time, squish the dynamics down a bit and bring the rest up. Not much point in having to mess with attack and release when you a blending dry back in.

Thanks for the advice.
Yes, the control names are a bit confusing...I might send Xotic an email and ask them

hi paubass,
I'm happy with these settings:

Thank you!
Is the switch on the High setting?

I have one and it's a keeper, even if I hardly use it. works very well with very little to zero noise on bass and guitar and once you've found "your" setting with the pins it's difficult to get a bad compression out of it.
THE feature is the parallel compresion blend which I usually leave on 40% wet to just fatten up my sound a bit without losing the original dynamics.

Just wondering what setting you are using on the internal switches.

I'm getting a bit confused since the controls are labelled differently than other compressors, Low/High for the Attack and Long/Short for the Release Time.
I'm want more of my natural note attack to go through so I can still have good articulation and dynamics.
Any advice on settings to achieve it?

Bah! They only give the Super12 a 94% rating and the Midget T a 97% rating.

Pathetic review. Completely fails to complain about finish, handles or feet. Doesn't mention how much better all the competition is. Manages to avoid using words like fanboi or cheerleader.

Instead, they have the temerity to write a genuinely impartial review based on the quality of these bass cabs when used as bass cabs.

Hopeless. Call that journalism?

6. No surprise Alex is not posting here, It must be very tiring and boring hearing the same old, same old...On the other hand, I have been following threads on TalkBass about his cabs and I have yet to see what happens in here every time someone starts a Barefaced thread.

It has been said so many times, if you don't like something, no need to go on about it, let other people be happy with their choice and move on...You don't see these situations with any other product.

In my experience, I tried/tested a few of the Barefaced cabs, none of my band mates had heard about the brand, likewise they hadn't even heard about Bergantino, they were pleasantly surprised and they all loved the cabs...some of the cabs more than others, hence the different cab range.

I have no experience with the TH500 so I can't comment on that,

Most of my bands are pretty controlled volume-wise, but I've done deps in loud bands with the Walkabout, and as long as I've brought enough cone area along (2 x Bergantino 2x10s at the time), it's never struggled. It's just given out an honest, fat, analogue punch with a proper backbone.

Don't forget it's a conservative 300 watts - it's 340w into 4ohm. It'll also put 480w into 2ohm.

That said, it you crave clean headroom, don't bother.
Thanks for the advice.
Might not be enough for me as my cab is 4 ohm... The TH500 is loud little amp, it would be interesting to hear from someone that has used both.

Yeah. Once you've tried a Walkabout, the others feel a bit 'diet'.
I've always read really good things about these amps and many times I've thought about getting one but I'm worried those 300 watts are not enough, I play in rather loud band :)
Any ideas on how it compares, volume and tone wise, to heads like the Aguilar TH500?
I'd run this amp through a Barefaced Super Twin

show us some pictures, please? I'm thinking about them too now.

Not the best pics but here you have:

Padding on this one is 10mm, thick and strong enough to keep the cab pretty safe.

I have had several covers made for me by Jenart. Each and every time has been an easy and straightforward deal. The onus is on you to make certain that your measurements are correct (the old adage, measurement twice cut once) but in every instance Chris at Jenart has been really helpful, offering advice where necessary and always providing a top notch service. I can't fault the company or their products, particularly when you see some of the absolutely ridiculous prices charged by brands such as Markbass, Aguilar etc, for products that are in most respects inferior to what Jenart produce. The only downside is that you don't get the brand logo of your particular amp/cab stencilled onto the cover - what a shame
I couldn't agree more with you

11. After my bad experience with another cover manufacturer, I find out this company called Jenart Design.
http://www.jenart.com/

Although their website is not great, they were also recommended by a few fellow Baschatters so I decided to go with them after a nice chat with Chris from Jenart.
He's been a pleasure to deal with and made things very easy from the start. He informed me well of all the different materials and options they offer.
Mine has been a completely custom made cab cover for my Barefaced Super Twin. I took all the measurements and double check all the details with them and within a matter of days the cover has arrived and....it fits perfectly!
Quality is excellent, very well made, well finished and very good 10mm padding....This cover is very similar to the Aguilar and Bergantino covers I have owned.
It came packed in a box rather than folded to death in a plastic bag so no creases as you'll see in some others :)

I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an amp, cab...cover. They are very good value for money, best out there that I know of right now.

Ah, yes, I remember now following with lots of interest your build projects...it's simply stunning!
I might have to go down the custom route too to get the bass I want ....fancy building another one?

Wow!....That's my dream bass right there!
Where did you get it from? :gas:

14. I'm also very surprised with what's happened here!
I have explained in detail all the issues each of the three different covers had on my original post. Pics speak for themselves.

I ordered the standard cover from their site and it didn't fit.
I took measurements three times to make sure they had the right ones and none of the next two covers were still right, in fact handle holes were in the same position pretty much on all three. Also other issues that had been fixed from the first to the second cover, were again made wrong on the third cover.

I understand many of you have had no problems with your covers and are very happy with them but my story has been quite different and I'm very annoyed...my cover is being made somewhere else now and I'm even saving a good chunk of money :)
