Hi I have a Sandberg that's developed a fault. When I sweep the pickup pot it crackles, I thought this was just dirty contacts. But after I've swept to either pickup and let go the buzzing/ crackling can still be heard and is there when I play, almost like mild distortion. If I then just touch the top of the pickup knob 2 or 3 times I can get it to go away, like an earth fault but it crackles and is still there even when I touch the strings etc. Any ideas? It's 10 years old, do indeed to update the active circuitry? Big job? Thanks

As the title really, not looking for super expensive , super heavy duty flight cases as my bass leaves the house for my car then into the pub/club. I've currently got a cheap fits all stagg hard bass case but it's fairly flimsy and unless I pad it out with t shirts the neck falls out its slot and sits funny. Been looking at the hard foam cases like gator etc as a happy medium between hardcase and softcase but I don't know anyone that's used them to discuss pros and cons. Any recommendations Thanks

Sorry guys I'm sure the answer is on here, I've had a look but can't find exactly what I need. I'm building a new pj bass and decided to go with active pickups but I'd like the option to switch to passive. But retain the same knobs ( basically like fender make them from factory) Dining buy active pickups and switch them off to passive. Or do I buy passive pickups of my choice then fit a preamp of some sort? New to all this active fun so please bear with me. Thanks

It's not my pa so don't know exact but I do know they are Yamaha, yeah kind of is a feeling thing I suppose.

We will run in ears at the small venue but the tops just don't seem to give the right "thump" if you know what I mean. They need a hand

Sorry I may have mislead you, I di from the markbass head at the moment so post all FX and the sansamp is just there to colour the tone. I was trying to say that I "could" Di from the sansamp but I would have to put modulation pedals before it. That way eliminating the need for an amp and cab, just using a powered cab. Hope that explains it better , sorry

My pedal board is tuner ,overdrive ,fuzz and then into a sansamp programme ale which will Di . That said I do run chorus and phaser after it so I'm not sure how that would work? Would I still get enough bottom end from a powered speaker though? The in ears run wired from the monitor out on the mixer .

Hope someone can point me in the right direction, tried the search function but as i don't really know what i'm after its not much use. My current gear is Mark bass liitle mark 2 head into a bare faced supertwin ( + pedal board ). Iuse the gear for gigging local pubs and clubs. Our stage setup has changed in that we now have a subs for the PA and have gone with in ear monitors so the on stage volume is less important, hence the super twin being overkill. However there will be the odd "small " pub gig where we wont use the sub so will still need a bass cab but it will only be a smaller room. As I'm lugging this stuff in and out the house and into the car then into the gig etc etc every weekend , I am looking to shrink it down as much as possible and need some help advice on which way to go with smaller cabs. My initial thought was to get a helix and DI into a powered speaker but then realised the cost of doing this would far outway the benefit. So basically i am asking do i go 2x10 , 1x15 , 1x12 etc , im leaning towards 1x12 as i know how the 12" behaves in the super twin. I suppose priority is size otherwise i may as well stay with what i have, also if im gonna change i dont want to be out of pocket. Any recommendations guys? Thanks

I love it mate, I've been using jazz an p basses but this is definitely a wnner. Does the p bass sound if you roll to thr neck, but sit it in the middle of both and it growls. Neck is nice, build quality is excellent and it sits comfortably. I honestly don't have a bad word

The barefaced stuff is similar weight but seems more money and less available secondhand

I have on occasion lost the sound on stage too, this is why I wanted to keep some variation of 10s so I get some kind of cut through on stage. I also considered two markbass 2x10hf cabs but worried I'd lose bottom end.

Hi guys, new to the forum and after some help, I've searched but can't find the answer. Currently for gigs running a markbass little mark ii into 2 Ampeg cabs, a 4x10 and a 1x15. However lugging these cabs is back breaking and as such means I have a practice amp aswell. Also taking a ton of room in my house. Have decided the markbass cabs are the way forward but need opinions / help on which way to go. The idea is to still have 2 cabs but as they are light I can ditch the practice amp and use 1 cab and the head for rehearsal. Initially I decided get the stand 1x 15 and pair it with 2x10hf for gigs or just use the 2x10 for practice. The other option I thought is to get the 4x10 and pair it with the 1x15 traveler for gigs and just use the 1x15 for practice. I keep getting my self lost with it all, I'm told I need the 1x15 to keep the bottom end strong but don't know which way to match it all up. Any advice would be great. Thnks
