@CameronJ Thank you, and you won't find many, if any, of these Retrospective Series at this price. No trades i'm afraid, as i'm selling this bass to raise some money for an early 70s jazz with black blocks. 

I'm selling my Freedom Retrospective series Pbass. These are japanese high-end basses, handmade on request by Freedom Custom Guitar Research – Pino's Rhino builder. They're made with the best materials money can buy. The standard Retrospective Series PBass costs more than €4000, shipped to your door direct from a Japanese store.

This one would be more expensive: it's a custom-order, hence the full-lacquer Shoreline Gold body - Standard ones are poly-coated -, the active preamp on top of a full-passive layout, and the Honduras rosewood fingerboard, while they normally use Indian one. The bass is a 34-scale P fiver, with an extent on the B string. Overall good condition, with some crazes & checking in the Shoreline gold nitro layers. The neck is perfectly straight, low action without fretbuzz, vintage-thin frets remaining intact. Gorgeous fingerboard, comfy C shape, and a joy to play. B string is resonant and defined, the extended scale tightening its tone.

Very light Fender-shaped fiver, hence its alder body: 9.1lbs / 4kg.

As for the electronics, the split pickup is quite unusual. I've never seen such a pickup before, with 4 polepieces on the A string. Pickup-height setting is unusual, but once you've found the sweet spot it just shines.

P tones for days, just as good as my 4-string vintage Ps, with this wonderful passive tone. Freedom nailed it, much better than the Xotic XP fiver i formerly had. Pull the tone pot and you get a modern twist to the beast, with a Freedom CGR made 2 band EQ. You got many useful tones there, including a killer slap tone. Amazing bass, which is not played as much as it deserves - i only play 4-string basses with my buddies.

Comes with a Yamaha hard-case in good working condition. Freshly strung with 45-130 Rotosound.

These are rarer than hen's teeth. I'm selling my 1975 Carvin SB-60. These short-scale basses are much sought after since Bosco Mann used one for years with Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings.

Hofner-made neck, 2-piece maple body and 2 great humbuckers, with lots of dynamics. All original except a screw on one machine head replaced by its former owner. The bass is in nice condition hence being 45 years old. Low action without string-buzz, original frets have still plenty of life, nice-working pickups and pots. Weighs in at 9.5lbs / 4,2kg.

String tension is great, pretty close to a long-scale bass. These are extremely well constructed basses. Amazing fat tones for days, with this thumpy 60s goodness. Comes with a vintage japanese soft bag in good condition too.

I'm selling my old Stingray. It's a 1979 pre-eb model, poplar body, weighs in at 10lbs/4,6kg.

Everything on the bass is original, except the 2 strap buttons. There's a nice worn in feel, the instrument being in overall good condition. Electronics is silent and as effective as these old Stingray preamps are known for. The preamp cavity has been copper-shielded.

The bass is currently strung with 45-105 nickel rounds. The neck is strong enough to get nice medium-to-low action without fretbuzz, trussrod has life's left.

The back of the body has been hand-signed by Will Lee. His former owner explained in his ad the bass belonged to Will Lee, hence the two small holes on the pickguard, in the exact same location as Will Lee's bass covers. I absolutely have no clue for this. What i do know is the bass is a complete tone monster. I've had 7-8 old Stingray during the last 10 years, i always kept this bass. There's something more in the tone you get with. More presence i guess.

Btw, the bass comes with an extra original 1979 pickguard, so that you can leave these 2 tiny extra holes under the pickguard.

Comes with a new Gator flight-case.

As for the price, exchange rate being very variable at the moment, my £1685 price, insured shipping included in European countries is a guiding price. My real price is in euros : €2000 shipping incl.

I don't like heavy basses at all, and so does my back, but i tend to prefer heavier basses. I mean it's very difficult to be sure about what separately contributes to the tone, but i tend to prefer heavier alder or ash body. I got the feeling lighter bodies (under 9lbs for an alder-bodied jazz / under 9.5 lbs for an ash-bodied) generate more scooped tones, heavier ones adding presence. With the noticeable exception of mahogany, and probably other species, which resonates with a bunch of low-mids, whether it's light or heavier.

Sorry for these multiple edits. It doesn't really matters me if the bass is from 1977 or 1976. But i know it's something you got to be sure when you buy a vintage Fender. Doing my best to be accurate.

I just gave the bass a full Fender polish, with no noticeable change on it's yellowed OW. Refreshed some welds too, no buzz anymore except the tone pot full open - i think it's due to the volume pot, not working as it should, see above.

It will. What i don't know is what you'll find under the hood, and if it'll match the rest of the body's colour.

I'm definitely not an expert but i'd expect cocobolo having more contrast between veins. Walnut ? Beautiful anyway

I'm selling this sweet 1976 Fender Precision bass - or 1977 got to check the tone pot code just to be sure. It's a player, not meaning it has lots of non-original parts, but it's been played and got quite a unique 'mojo' to it. 

I initially wrote the volume pot being non original. I thought it was a log poti while it should be a lin, due to the volume not coming in a linear way. In fact it's a lin but it's not working as it should. You got no volume or you got full volume. And it's original, being, from 1976.

Everything was there when the bass left the factory, it's a full-original bass. The body was originally olympic white and has quite yellowed since, with lots of nice crazes. It's made of ash, with light pieces of wood, as the bass weighs in 4kgs / 8.8 lbs. 

Currently strung with Labella flats, with a nice low action. Frets have lots of life left, and the trussrod turns easily in both directions. Neck is a joy to play, feels solid, but less chunky than some 70s Fender PBass. Pickup sounds huge, massive lows and lots of clarity. There's a slight buzz related to the jack input, as my luthier says. I chose not to swap it for a new as it's an original part. (EDIT: i chose to refresh some welds, no welding part added, the buzz is only noticeable when the tone pot is fully open now. I think this is related to volume pot which is not working as it should).

Sounds great with both flats and rounds - i played the bass with Rotosound too, and comes with a non-original vintage G&G-like case. 

I'm asking £1900 / 2200€ for the bass, shipped to your door in European countries. Price dropped to £1820 / 2100€.
