  1. Trades: will trade for a Gibson Ripper or consider something lesser with cash my way if it's rare and beautiful.  Particularly interested in a fretless P.  Classic looking basses, nothing pointy or headless and that.  Sandbergs too, particularly interested in those.

Here is my '57 AVRI.  Been my main bass for the best part of a year and has seen a few gigs so has a couple of minor checks in the paint work (pictured) and some buckle rash which is hard to picture.  Otherwise excellent condition.  Always gets compliments on both sound and looks but I've just come into an actual '74 and I can't justify having two vintage style P basses so, with a heavy heart, this one has to go.

Wide but slim neck, extremely playable.  Strung with Ernie Ball flats.  Can give you a piece of my foam to whack under the ashtray if you want that extra thump (how I usually have it).

Comes with a standard fender gig bag and all the original accessories pictured.  Cash on collection preferred but can ship to UK in a brand new Fender tweed hard case for an extra £200 if you'd like.  If you don't like, I can still buy a case of your choosing and ship to you.  Paypal payments to be friends and family or fees added on top for goods and services.

Any questions, give us a shout.

    Will you send to Germany?

I would yeah but you'd have to sort out delivery etc.  I can give you weights and dimensions and you can do the rest to ensure you get the best price =)

  3. Ah yes, I haven't actually put that in my profile, haha.  Thanks!

I'm in Walton-on-Thames, near Kingston so Surrey/SW London.  Mutual meet ups also considered.  Delivery within a certain distance to my next bass also considered.

  4. No new offers?  Am I missing something?  Did I not get the memo that practically pristine sunburst Jazz basses with a rosewood neck are out of favour?  Did it turn out it was Jimmy Saville's favourite bass or something?

(Saville never touched this btw.  Scout's honour.)

((I have never been a scout but still))

They are great, well padded, generous compartments, decent shower repellence, look really smart.

Defonitely a premium product, made in the Uk with great customer service.

i also have one of their DJ bags that I use for cables and stuff etc.

They're not actually... (not trying to be a Richard, but so as not to muddy the waters)

    From the FAQs

    8. Where are Fusion gig bags made?

It’s no secret that our Fusion gig bags are made in China

Oooh, I've just been offered one of those?

I hope it's not the one I bought a couple hours ago... =D

I've looked into them and been meaning to get one for a while, they look pretty great but we'll see when it arrives.  Thomann had a good selection last time I looked, might be worth having a look if not just for research.

What didn't you like about the Rivoli...apart from the lack of range and clarity! xD

I had a 90s reissue, it played real nice (even for a short scale, but I think it was technically mid scale) but the stock pup was a POS.  Maybe just due to age.  Replaced with a Dimarzio Model One in the hopes of getting a little more range but still nothing.  The baritone switch just made it even boomier so my sonic options were BOOM or BOOOOOOOOM.  SO in terms of low end, yeah, if that's all I needed, perfect!  I thought about modding it and having it routed to put in a bridge pup but figured best to leave well alone and let it go to someone else who might love it for what it was.

Now, THIS guy... he has all the versatility and clarity the Rivoli was missing, just I've been playing an AVRI '56 P for so long now, my hands feel more comfortable when they're stretched out.  This one feels just a touch smaller than a jazz (you may have noticed I'm also selling a jazz =D ) and I want to be able to switch between basses without an adjustment period.

    RANT OVER.  FANX.

Oh plenty of us want it! Speaking for myself I just spent my bass budget for this and next year.

Well I need it gone so I can get my PJ before the dude gets tired of waiting for me to have the cash haha

Cash on collection gets it cheaper.  Could even deliver if it's on the way to Brighton (where my next bass awaits me).

  9. Folks have asked me where this was made: all Newark Street reissues (such as this) are made in Korea.  Only the high end Guild acoustics are made in the USA.  But for what it's worth, they're owned by Fender so for any wondering whether they're any good, the answer is a firm 'hell yes'.  If you've played a Korean made hollow body of any kind you'll know the quality.  Plus, Korea have a history of making hollow body guitars second only to those made in 'Murrica.  But you're on Basschat.  You probably knew that.

  10. It belonged to a mate who used it when touring, good way to make it stand out I guess =)

Either way, if the buyer cares about that, a quick spray with a black can and you're good to go!  Might even have a can of black spray paint to chuck in if it sweetens the deal haha
