1. Currently v impressed by tom1946s black MiM Jazz in the for sale section I have been set to wondering how sensible an option is it to get a plain dotted neck converted to blocks and binding?

I have a lovely Blade B4 with one piece maple neck and ebony fretboard and I assume any competent luthier could do the work but is it likely to change the tone of the bass in anyway? Also wot would be a ballpark figure to expect for the work or should I just shell out for Toms Jazz ( for which i have no room anyway)

2. My practice room/'studio' doubles as an office for my dear Wife who regularly works from home.
As her earning have increased over the years as mine have dwindled :) so her share of the space has increased.
She now has a desk the size of a small aircraft carrier and a chair that would have put CJs to shame!

Had it been just the basses and an amp it wouldnt be so bad but there are numerous keyboards and outboard gear all now squished into the corner.

I spend more time moving gear about to give me a space to work in than actually practicing but mebbe i'm just using that as an excuse!

For a seat buy a cheapo office type chair with wheels and height adjustment ( i Think tesco do them for £20) and remove the back! Result - A little drum throne type seat with wheels! just remember you've removed the back!

3. Thats like asking Wife or Girlfriend?
There are some things one wont do that the other will so you gotta have both! :)

The P is a dependable, trusty workhorse and the Jazz is.....well you can see where I am going on this one!

Carry on!

4. The Levinson B4 is an awsome beast tho' very heavy at 14lbs!!
I got mine from TheBeeps and once I had tweaked the neck its as fine a bass as any I have ever played.

How it compares with the Tetra though is not something i can comment on.

Cheers BB

5. My local GeetarGeetar want 1600 clams for one of these so that is an excellent price IMO!

I would have it but i would have to wait til the 2 bases I have on commission sale are gone - always wanted a Celinder but Sadowskys are a bit more realistic choice for the money.

Oh look I've gone and bumped it......

The way i play my basses they would as well be tuned that way.

ps in case u really dont know it is an acronym for the fact i find the bass in quesion a delightful piece of craftsmanship and an exremely desirous commodity which would give any owner an increase in their credibility, independant of their actual talent, and possibly even make them more attractive to members of the opposite sex should such an effect be desired by the player.

SSSHHHH! I will say this only once........there is a nice wenge fretted one from an ordinary seller now on eBay.

11. Ooooh, a bolt on with a nice shallow cutaway heel, lovely! And more knobs than a porno!
What's the weight like on this?
I love a Jazz type body but most are quite large for my slight frame.

12.
This is the Sandberg bass, called the 'Tube Machine'
Interesting!You sure that isn't photoshopped! :)

A 3 pick-up case - not too many of them about, the MM Big Al (Marmite effect) and Stu Hamm Fender spring to mind.
The controls dont seem very accessible on that. Was/Is that commercially available do you know?

13. I was about to ask if this idea had ever been commercially marketed and I am surprised that Sandberg had done it.
I never quite grasped valves in the power vs tone area.
I know older amps have post and pre amp valve sections and the newer ones tend to have just pre-amp so I guess this is trying to emulate the latter.
Had been asking the troops for opinions on an 70s simms-watts all valve bass amp earlier.
You always associate miniatuarisation with ICs rather than valves - is this a recent developement?
