I had a Spector Euro but the preamp in it, my God, was shocking. Could not get a good tone out of that thing. 

Doesn't look that bad, looks like a high class studio preamp. 

Geddy is known for being DI only so why release a signature preamp pedal without a DI?

Roto Tapes are the dullest Tapes out there - closest you will get to a double bass sound on an electric.

I'll be honest, I've never taken to flats, but I got this new fretless today and it came with flats.
I opened the box, saw the flats and my heart sank.

I didn't want that 'flat' sound.

No. Like all fresh flats, they need to be played to get that flat tone!

It's like a fine watch. Something 1/100 of the price will do the same job. But does the cheap watch have the history, heritage, build quality and prestige of the fine watch?

At social media self promotion but not necessarily bass playing! If a band sells millions of records, does it make them talented or marketable?
