Ha! Thank you sir.
The bass suggestively presenting itself in the background is almost identical to the one I’m playing, just with different wiring (Vol-Vol-Tone plus frequency switches for mids and highs, and series mode push/pull on the second volume - whereas the one I’m playing is Vol-Blend-Tone without any fancy switching) and I’m playing flats on the gold one but the Background Burgundy Beauty is strung with steel rounds.
Edit: and of course I’m playing on the neck pickup!
Lovely tones my Friend,? what make are the flats bud.

By your logic, Paul McCartney, Nate Mendel and probably dozens of others are better because they've sold even more records.
Well he'd certainly be in my top ten fella.

The band as a group have sold 100 million records, I’m not knocking him I always thought him a good bass player but put him on his own releasing bass heavy albums and he wouldn’t have the title.
Of course not ,him being number one who happens to be in a world famous band go hand in hand fella.

So because he was there first he was the best bassist in 2021? What utter horse poop
Yes I'm afraid so ,when you've sold 100 million records worldwide over a 40 year career you must be doing something right ,on that score alone he deserves to be number one

Will Lee, Nathan East, Sean Hurley, Chris Chaney, Jimmie Lee Sloas, Steve Pearce.......to name a few. All of them have played on more big selling albums than John Taylor. Or do they not count because they are first call session players rather than band guys?
John Taylor would come before all these others as they are not commercially as well known, maybe with the exception of Nathan East, because of Taylors exposure with both Duran Duran, and his Facebook series last year would make him number one in 2021 without a doubt fella.

Define success? I'm sure there are a load of bassists who have played on more big selling albums over the last year. I would class them as being more successful than John Taylor.
Feel free to name them fella.

I guess if JT is your number one player in 2021, he's probably your number one every year regardless.
He's not just mine ,he's millions of others too, in terms of success and popularity over the last two years he is the number one p[layer whether you like that fact or not fella.

Such a random list of people thrown together. Sure some of them are interesting stories but how some them are rated in 2021 doesn’t make much sense to me.
Then again these lists are as irrelevant to anything, as much as my opinions on such matters are.But if your name was on the list ,then you would have different opinion .John Taylor has to be the number one bassist simply because he has been the most successful player over the year of 2021,but agreed the others are also rans.

You agree that John Taylor is the best bassist in the world for the year 2021?
The clue is in the Thread title my friend.

Totally agree with the Number one, without a doubt..? Who's your number one.

My tenpeneth worth is that surely Microbes don't like lemons, therefore they couldn't grow or multiply where the Lemmon oil is present assuming he means Lemmon Oil. Olive oil or any other organic substance may be a different matter though.

Well after my debacle with the Zoom B1four packing up recently, I have experienced a slight mishap today, whilst recording something today ,my take on (Strange town ) I got carried away and the Focusrite 2i2 2nd gen I was using to record with was dragged off of my recoding bench onto a carpeted floor. So after quickly re plugging into my PC using the USB cable nothing happened, no power going to the Focusrite .Oh no i thought ,I haven't knackered this up as well I thought .Anyway after some deliberation I decided to give Focusrite a call, and I can honestly say their customer service was second to none, it was 5.30 pm this evening and they answered the Phone,i told the customer service guy Andy what had happened and he immediately pointed me in the right direction as to why i was not seeing any power going into the unit .He went on to say that the problem lied with the actual USB plug in the machine which was damaged during the drop, a common occurrence he alluded, and he ordered me a new plug FOC there and then ,Now I'm not one for doing reviews but i can say with all honesty that this chap was great with me, so with that in mind I'm giving Andy and Focusrite 5 stars for customer service. Well done chaps, I will report back back if and when the thing is fixed.

You should be able to figure it out from this.

Im intrigued as to how old your uncle is if his son fought on WW2. Both of my grandparents who were veterans have sadly passed.
Yer i got wrong it was actually the Falkland's he was lost in .

Serious question could the Last Post be played on a Bass guitar, I have an Uncle whose son was lost in ww2,and he's coming round on Sunday for a Slice a Cake and a Cuppa Tea.
If it could ?can anyone help me out with the tabs.

So having read all the replies on this, the general consensus seems to be that the Hi Mass bridge doesn't equate to a more vintage sounding tone. But if you did fit one then it would add to the aesthetics of the instrument, hmmm or is the jury still out.

Very little. If people pretend they can tell the difference I wouldn’t believe them. The upgrade can be made in a few seconds and won’t cost you much.
(Other opinions may exist)
Cheers ,I'm always searching for that classic vintage tone, which Fender claim you'll get more off if you installed one of these.

?How much of a difference do Hi Mass Bass Bridge's make to a Fender MIM P bass.

Do take the cherry or olive off the cocktail stick first....
The only thing connected to my cocktail stick were the remains of this evenings Gammon dinner, they double up as toothpicks as well as strap button repair timber.😬😝😁

I've only had the Bass a week and I've just noticed that the Strap button was loose to the point it's slightly wobbling, I had a go at tightening it, but the screw is just turning(wont tighten) wasn't expecting this with a brand new Guitar,? Any suggestions as to what I should do ,don't want to strip the threads or something.
