I have an original one from 1969 for sale if you wanted to revert to original?

Those are pretty rare. They are missing on a lot of the tele basses.

Congrats on the tele to the op, those are fine basses for sure!!

  2. I´m pretty sure the body has been refinished too. The burst is just not right. Also sunburst Fenders would ship out standard with tort pickguards in ´62. Though of course it´s Fender, so there always could be a few exceptions.

One of the pictures presumably shows the bass live in ´66. I´d expect a light burst like this to be more apparent in the picture. Of course it can be hard to tell sometimes, but I dont see any burst, let alone a light one like this. There also seem some small damages on the pictures white spot near right hand) that are not present in the current condition.

  3. Kasuga '70s Jazz Bass

For sale again (I withdrawn it because of doubts) is my Kasuga Jazz Bass from the late '70s or maybe early '80s.

It's a great bass with that nice clear jazz bass sound. Playability is excellent, it's set up with low action.

It's in reasonable condition, given its age. There are a lot of small damages and usermarks, but nothing excessive. All electronics work like they should. The hardware doesn't run all smooth, but works.

This bass truly sounds great with both pickups engaged or when solood. Some nice bridge pickup-burp is possible with the tonepot closed.

    Weight is around 4.2kg.

    Fixed price €450

The bass can be picked up in the Netherlands or shipped at buyers risk and expense.

  4. I had 2 almost original and almost complete early '66 jazzes One had the amazing light body, and the other a superb thin neck that felt special to me (but on a way heavier body).

I know it would decrease the value but from a players view I decided to swap the necks (the original one on this body needed a little work on though) and make the ideal jazz bass.

The idea was that I would keep it for ages, but things went different...

All in all it is a fantastic bass. When your looking for a vintage jazz, I don't think it gets much better. All parts are correct and it actually could have left the factory with this exact parts.

The "leftover" parts were indeed for sale too, I didn't part out this bass for sale though.

  5. My old jazz bass is for sale again.

    https://www.zikinf.com/annonces/annonce-2220978

Important note: Neck and body are from different basses. Period correct though. Indian rosewood fretboard, no Rio.

Seller has decided not to mention this for a bigger profit.

Also he is using my pictures without asking....which always feels a bit weird.

He says because he retired 2 years ago, but he bought it about 6 months back or so.... probably saying to create some feelings.

It's a really great Jazz Bass though, but it needs some honesty when listed.

  6. Even if there is no issue with the account, there is no need to write people off as fraude when they don't want to use PayPal business.

When I sell something, I am happy to pack well and ship out when a buyer asks me to. Payment has to be completed before I ship out the item, and I don't want to have the risk on my side. I am clear about this on forehand.

I do not accept Paypal business because the seller will be paid out only when the parcel tracking says the parcel has been delivered. When the tracking doesn't update correctly, you'll have to wait for 90 days (I think) to clear. Or you'll have to come up with evidence which is very hard to come by... This gives nasty buyers the opportunity to say they haven't received anything and get full refund in the worst case. When you don't have any proof of delivery when a claim has been opened, your item and money are gone.

My spidey senses were pricked by the ‘sellers’ inability to take PayPal which of course would have facilitated an easy refund. But who knows…..

That might be the exact problem from a seller's side. Per example; when a tracking doesn't update, you don't get your money until a period of 90(?) days without dispute runs out. Buyer protection is great, but as a seller you're vulnerable.

The bass sounds great and plays well. All hardware and electronics work like they should.
As you can see the bass hasn’t been in a case for it’s whole life; usermarks and small damages are to be found all around. Nothing serious though imo, just honest wear.

Soundwise it offers a nice range of tones, going from Stingray-esque to warmer sounds with the neck pickup added or solood.

It actually took me quite a while to find a really nice one. But my Modulus is my main love now.

A decent quality G&G case in included.

    €2600

Fixed price!! No lower offers please, it has no use.

I am located in the Netherlands, but I am happy to ship at buyers risk and expense..

(Partial) trade offers are welcome. I am mainly interested in a nice active 5 string with humbucker(s) and narrower stringspacing.

Otherwise per example; old Fender shortscale, '70s type precision, Fender off set guitar or strat.....

He’s on reverb as vintage Freak and I think the site is vintage Freak.eu

Mainly selling (well, trying too) through reverb and also lists on other sites under his private name.

But tbh he has some nice stock...nice looking and recognizable pictures. He could well have a succesfull shop, while being open and honest.

  10. He has contacted me at least 10 times in the past. Mostly on bassic, where I blocked him a good while ago.

In this last case he responded to my Sabre, asking for my best price (the ad clearly states that the price is fixed). He says he can get one cheaper but likes my sunburst better. BS of course, he already has a natural one listed on reverb at €3.300.

The prices of this guy are often ridiculous, but that doesn't bother me. They either sell or not. The systematic lying is a big nono in my book.

And he isn't knowledgeable too, the experts he talks about don't exist. He doesn't even recognize an obvious refret on a bound neck, a changed neckplate on a Fender where an engraving should be or a totally different bridge on a 66. And I've seen more of that stuff on "all original" listings in the past.
