The bass has been used a lot, which shows. The body has a lot of small damages and usermarks. The neck is in good condition.

All hardware and electronics (vol, pickup select, bass/treble) work like they should. Playability is good. It’s quite a light instrument with its 3,8kg.

    Asking €1850

I am located in the Netherlands. Pickup is preferred, but I could ship at buyers risk.

    No trades.

  2. I bought the 5-21 hybrid a few weeks back. A green one with the Pao Ferro fretboard. The tag says it has been made in 2021, so it had been in stock for a while.

Given the mixed reviews I kinda expected to have some flaws that would need attention. But actually I can´t find any flaws. The bass plays beautifully with a low action, and there are no sharp fret ends to be found. Fit and finish is better than you´ll see on many USA Fenders in my experience. Soundwise it´s great too, I can´t see a reason to change the pickups or preamp.

The only thing I need to do is change the stock strings. I play them, but they feel a bit rough. So I´ll probably fit a standard set of d´addarios.

All in all I´d say these basses can be a very good deal for a modest price.

Edit: the only downside is that the headstock decal is as ugly as F*ck. I´ll keep it like this though, as in 30 years this will be one of the rare ones that doesn´t have the decal sanded off.

  3. These are very nice indeed. I've played quite a bunch of mustangs, and these JMJ's are consistently good. Better than vintera or Japanese models I've played.

It looks like a former owner has fitted other tuners at one point, which caused damage.

I can't see why someone would swap the tuners on these basses. They are very decent quality...

  4. For sale is my Fender Mustang Special guitar, made in Japan.

This guitar is of a very good build quality with a tight fit and finish. Playability is great

The guitar is in very good condition. It has some small damages and usermarks, but nothing serious. It has a fresh overall appearance. The neck is straight and the frets show little wear. All hardware and electronics work like they should.

The former owner changed the bridge to a high quality brass one, and also changed the knobs (original knobs still present).

    Asking €850

I am located in the Netherlands, but happy to ship at buyers risk.

Payment in advance only (cash on collection, banktransfer or PayPal friends).

  5. For sale is my black JMJ Mustang bass.

The bass has been played and has some extra usermarks on top of the factory ones. The neck has finish checking, which you don’t feel when playing. Also some damages near the tuners on the headstock.

These basses are solid quality with a good fit and finish (tight neckpocket). Playability is very good and some nice range of sounds are available. All hardware and electronics work like they should. The neck is straight with a good functioning truss rod.

It has been set-up with elixir strings

    €975

Tradewise I am interested in a Music Man Stingray. Preferably one with the mutes on the bridge, lacquered neck and maple fretboard.

Ive got more basses for sale/trade.

  6. You could check if the soldering is done okay. Get a small piece of metal wire and hold it at the wire of the pickup and the other end to the lip of the pot where it is supposed to be, when plugged in. See if the signal gets better.

  7. This is a Bassstar SP24 model, the fretboard material is phenolic.

These are very comfortable basses. I own one with a natural koa body and Bartolini pickups.

  8. Fender Jazz Bass 1970

For sale is my sunburst Fender Jazz Bass from late 1970. The pots date back to week 51, and the neck pickup dates back to 1970 too Otherwise there are no readable stamps that say anything, but it’s all consistent with 1970.

The bass is in good condition considering its age. It has a few small damages and finish checking all over. But nothing significant. The only thing worth mentioning is that the last few frets have been levelled lower to compensate for a bit of ski-jump (like many of those oldies). The bass plays great with a medium low action.

Soundwise it’s one of the best jazzes I’ve ever owned. It sounds warm and clear with some nice growl with both pickups on, but also does the bridge pickup snarl perfectly with the tone knob closed.

Included are the original Fender branded Hagström case (very rare), the original manual, and the original purchase invoice from January 1971!

With the chrome covers and thumb rest mounted, the bass weighs in at 4,4kg on my kitchen scale.

The bass has been set-up with d´addario rounds at the moment of sale.

    Asking €5200

Partial trade of one or more instruments is negotiable. I am interested in 4/5 string basses and electric guitars.

The bass is located in the Netherlands. Pickup is preferred, but I can ship at buyers risk

Well yeah but it is, but cheaper. My 3 (body) refinished Fenders don't sound or play different from an original. I want the sound and feel of an old Fender, not the exact original finish. If the wood, hardware and electronics are original: sign me up. Oh and the refin has to be pretty.

I mean: nothing wrong with a good refin.

    tiorb4F.jpg

I'm totally with you. I don't mind a decent refinish. I'd happily live with that '62, it looks awesome.

Your '70 as pictured above has a very satisfying shade of blue combined with the tort.

  10. Peavey Rudy Sarzo signature

Fantastic top of the line Peavey, made in USA. Apparently it's from 1990. These aren't offered very often.

This instrument has many high end features as a neck through construction, ebony fretboard, fancy inlays and high quality hardware.

The bass can be played passive or active (3eq) and sounds great either way. The two pickups are humbuckers, and I feel it gets into Musicman territory. The response is pretty quick, which reminds me of my Modulus basses.

Playability is Awesome. The action can be set very low on this one, which probably helps in providing the quick response of the notes. Play-wise it's pretty much like my Modulus Flea, though the neck on the Peavey is just a bit fuller feeling.

The condition is pretty good for its age, with no serious damages to be found. All hardware and electronics work. The treble knob runs stiff, but works. The neck is straight, the truss rod works well, the frets are still good to go.

Included is the original hardcase and documentation.

    Fixed price €1.150

I am located in the Netherlands, but happy to ship at buyers risk and expense.
