My favourite film of all time. Great music, great story, amazingly well filmed and utterly bonkers.

Do you make enough money to live on? Professional, if not, amateur. Some professionals are average players, some amateurs are amazing.

Brexit has been a massive success - for those who planned and orchestrated it, they have made billions and don’t give a damn about ordinary people.

If I could only have one tool it would be a powerfile, depending on grit size you can use it as a bulk wood remover (well bulk guitar wise - not like a chainsaw!) and finer grit will do much of the finishing.

Nah, just use one of these: https://www.americanmusical.com/audio-technica-cp8201-mic-impedance-matching-transformer/p/AUD-CP8201. Being doing it for ages and works a treat. You can use it for any pedal and get some proper weird effects should you desire.

The KMA delay/ reverb pedal is amazing for doing just this.It is very flexible and takes a little while to dial it in exactly where you want it but worth the effort.

That looks suspiciously like an Ultra in cobra blue. Same as mine. I am biased but it’s a thing of beauty and sounds amazing.

Boss Gx100, amazing bit of kit and stupidly good value when you consider what it does.

There is a gorgeous hand made Bass on here over the last few days that is for sale at about a third of its new price. It was a bargain but had no interest and the price was dropped about 20% and it still hasn’t sold. Whether you like it, or understand it, there is something about Fenders that people like and that makes them a ‘safe buy’. I have dabbled with a range of stuff but always come back to a Jazz. My Ultra is just the best bass I have ever owned. And it should be given the price! But the prices have gone up so much I could probably break even after a couple of years of ownership.

Ashdown are out of this world service wise. Give them a call and I doubt you will be disappointed.

I never saw those that high but I don’t tend to look at 5s so it wouldn’t surprise me. The Ultra like mine was £1999 until recently but is now over £2100, compared to a few years ago they are all up as far as I can tell. I paid under £1700 on my ultra less than 18 months ago.

People don’t always do their research. I have sold a few bits over the years that have gone for more than new price. It’s crazy but the buyers seemed happy. But I have also sold stuff where it’s gone for a fraction of what I expected. You can just never tell.

They certainly haven’t dropped in price since then, so how has anything changed for the better?

Some are better than others for sure. Normally it’s linked to getting decent known makes but they are simple things and I have seen dirt cheap Chinese ones that work fine for years, but I wouldn’t buy them to the put on any of mine just in case.

If that’s all that’s wrong then Christmas has come early!

That is reassuring, I was offered one a while ago and when I googled the serial number I got loads of hits on forums along the lines of ‘just bought this, is it genuine?’ So I guess they just copy one transfer and stick it on a load.

It looks nice in the pic, have you tried googling the serial number? If it is dodgy then you might find you get a load of hits. Got to be worth a close look at that price though.

You can’t go far wrong at that money if you want new. If you are happy going second hand then there are loads of options out there but December probably isn’t the best time to find bargains.

It is just so out of place on the album and is just very clearly there as a single release option. I would have thought they were big enough by then to have full control over output but it seems like a classic record company pressure thing to do. If you listen to wish without it, the whole experience is so much better, it just kills the mood and flow. I don’t actively dislike it, but would never choose to listen to it. It lacks the fun and quirkiness of earlier poppier output like love cats and is very meh to me.

Wish for me, apart from the sad single fodder that is Friday I’m in love, it just rolls from start to finish in an almost hypnotic way. Just brilliant

Loads of great stuff but three for me for different reasons, snow, scar tissue and for nostalgic memories of the Rock House in Derby in the 90s, give it away.

Seems a shame when you would have been happy to keep it as well. It’s hard to see how this makes financial sense to them.
