  1. Cab-wise I just bought one of two Peavey cabs from Fleabag on ‘ere that he’d upgraded the drivers with Beyma’s. 2x10, 400w @ 4 ohms.

Im yet to use it in anger, but the sound I’m getting in the house is very promising. £105 delivered!

Might be a good cheap yet highly effective option for you.

  2. I was just trying to think “when have I ever played a stage that dark?!”

I remembered then - about 20 years ago playing a pub gig with a rock band, ALL the power goes out (amp too, so still no use for LEDs!).

The drummer being an entertainer through and through starts playing and singing at the top of his voice We Will Rock You by Queen. The whole pub joined in. Excellent.

Hi I’ve got a similar one it’s got the bullet truss rod the bound fingerboard     vintage pickups , bridge, and tuners    The only difference between this and my other jazz basses is the neck profile it’s very slightly deeper but feels great    and sounds really good with flatwound strings

  4. I’ll be the controversial one, then!

As much as I love Fenders, sometimes I think the tuners look stupid. There; I said it!

A full set of “T” (or are they called “Y”?) shaped ones would look fine, but if the rest of the hardware is that dark chrome I’d look for replacements in that colour.

  5. Another quiet late shift in work, another boomer slammer of a bass put together on the whatsitminator. There are sooo many things I’d be obliged to spend £1600 on if I had spare, but this is deffo on the lottery list. The neck is roasted too.

Yeah. I know it’s pedantry of the highest order - but I paid more to get the thing I wanted and got the nearest thing but.

some places in the US have pictures of the actual product in their listing so I might order and take the hit on customs charges.

Probably a warehouse picker thought they just had a new colour pack.

it works the other way too - I ordered one cymbal stand online, but what arrived was one... box of six cymbal stands!
