  1. Especially the wasted time in rehearsal. I often come across guitar players who "haven't had a chance to listen to the song" when learning by ear. Sucks when you're paying for rehearsal space
  2. Thats another great usage..... Creating a personal archive. Absolutely invaluable, especially if catalogued correctly (not like in my room!! 😆)
  3. Or, or "roses are red, violet..." pass us me coat
  4. Good for you. I'd maybe ask one of your band mates to be a practice buddy. I sing tenor in my church choir and there's nothing we won't help each other with
  5. I'll second that. You need to have some faith. Be a bass player. Walk in dem boots, and enjoy. I reckon nothing brings you on better than actual band, and gig experience. Sometimes practice at home is only like a flight simulator, you have to climb in the cockpit!!
  6. Nice one. The gigs I always wanted were the show band, theatre and cruise work. Sadly I ruined my life by getting married to a psycho at 20
  7. Agreed. Nobody likes a hot mess!!
  8. Not to mention bearing the brunt of an international conspiracy theory!
  9. I saw a drummer once doing blazing double kick in Caribbean Queen. In fact there's a plethora of drummers that sound like knitting machines
  10. I once fell in love with a lefty bass on here, a Zoot Boudicca. So much so, that I considered buying it and retraining!! 😆
  11. I know, mate. Making my wallet twitch!! 😆
  12. I'll see how long they last. Part of my long term trial. I'm happy with em so far, but if they don't last, I may need to rethink
  13. Absolutely! And L'dia on bass from YouTube too. Beatbox, chords and slapping whilst singing. Awesome
  14. Great band, not enough hits! Their drummer, Pat Mastelotto is in, or was in King Crimson
  15. Fantastico!! Loving the steampunk pickguard
  16. Thats true, people wanting bargains etc. I started using shpock for my other interest, swiss army knives (I know!) but it's useless for anything else
  17. Here's a curveball bass.... Squier telecaster bass (I think). Bought on ebay for something crazy like £125
  18. Now she is a beauty! I hear what you say about other basses, I've tried them all, God knows!! I do love other sounds, like the fizzy gurgle of a jazz, but I always reach for my P in the first instance
  19. I've had no luck selling on ebay or shpock recently. I think the market has stalled temporarily. I see basses on here that have sold in hours in the past, and they are sat languishing. Nobody's fault, just people are cautious these days
