Really good points, thanks, especially about making sure the performers are performing!

Hi everyone: thanks for all your advice. I think we’ll try a bit more diy first of all, but bearing in mind that getting in a pro is actually a lot less than I thought it would be!

My band has been regularly gigging for a couple of years now. I’ve been trying to get some reasonable video of live performances to put on our FB page, and the only way I’ve done it till now has been to put a camera in a corner and press record, and then cut what comes out into individual songs. You can see the kind of thing on our page: www.facebook.com/wearemovingtargets. This is “OK” as at least potential bookers and punters can get an idea of what we sound like; but it’s not really any kind of professional presentation. Does anyone have any experience of making a more sophisticated video, with actual cuts between different shots, over a song? I’m struggling with how to keep one audio track underneath and to ensure the video keeps in sync with the audio. I’ve been using apps to cut and paste stuff together, but the basic ones don’t have the exactness of editing accuracy needed, and before I look at spending cash on something more sophisticated I thought I’d throw it out there to see who’s had any experience that can help.

Oh right: I’d certainly be interested
-
Any idea when there’ll be more on pricing, finishes and ordering?? cheers
-
Liking the idea of a mid scale!
-
Certainly sounds like some love ou there for Squiers!
-
Thanks, Mart, it certainly sounds like it’s a pretty decently built bass that could take some mods and still be reasonably priced. I’m definitely running through some ideas......😉
-
Liking all 3 of those! Have you done any mods to the Squiers? Given the price I wondered getting one and having a go at chucking in high end pups and hardware and getting a custom paint and guard job
-
My mildly modded Mustang! I took the advice on this thread and added Hipshot HB10s, plus Gotoh saddles, D’Addario rounds and a new pick guard care of Jacks Instrument Services
-
Ta: could be next on my list!
-
I wondered about saddles: I’ve decided this will be my first rodding experiment so may try those next. So far I’ve ordered new tuners - Hipshots which just arrived - plus a new pearloid pickguard (that’s just for looks of course). Do the saddles just fit straight on or is there some black art involved? Did they help intonation??

Ditto: I’ve fallen in love with my PJ: I use it instead of my Ric, so comfortable for an evening gigging ,plus great sound. Ay it through a Markbass 121p plus 121 extension cab. All in all a really compact easy to transport rig and great for pub gigs

Great, what’s your band and what do you play? Check us out on FB: www.facebook.com/wearemovingtargets we are at the Suffolk Punch at the end of May, and various venues around the county

I grew up in Hadleigh and went to school in Sarfend! Now up in Suffolk and gigging in and around Ipswich.

Combo and can arrived last week: Markbass CMD121p plus NY121. I'm really pleased with the tone (coupled to a US std Jazz). Bunged em on the back seat of my micro sized car and easily carted em upstairs to. The practice room yesterday. Great tone again and cut thru 2guitars and a drummer at practice, even with volume and gain at around 9-10 o'clock each. First gig is an outdoors one this Sunday so I can report back after that. Certainly initial impression is V good
I found theese two http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Hartke-112C-Hydrive-Bass-Combo-Amp/9VX https://gb.muzyczny.pl/162028_Phil-Jones-Bass-Bass-CUB-BG100-BK-bass-combo.html There was louder amps, but also bigger, so i choose bit smaller models.
Very nice: if they can take extensions then you can always add another cab anyway for more noise!
That's a sweet combination, for my taste
Cheers: it's arrived and initial playing around is V promising!😀🎸
My lightweight combo is a TC Electronics BG250-112. Highly recommend it and not that expensive. Holds its own easily in my five piece rock band and four piece metal band.
I had the 115 version, also sounded good to me, although I was a newbie at the time so what did I know! I replaced it with a BH500 plus a BC210, again was very pleased with those. I see someone is selling a full gigging rig with a 410 as well for 400 on the gear for sale, deffo worth a look
I haven't tried that one. I tried the MB combo with a Barefaced Compact (G2, 15"), which was a pretty powerful combination but I didn't think it was a good pairing, tonally. However the Traveler 151 is probably quite different from the Compact... so... sorry for the very unhelpful post
Actually it is helpful as it's helped clarify my thinking. I've ordered the CMD121p plus NY121 as they're designed to go together, now we will see what the sound is like!

Anyone used a 12 plus 15 combination? I just saw a MB Traveler 151 at a reasonable price, thought it might make a good partner to the CMD 121P?...
-
Hi everyone: sorry this is my first reply to all your advice; it's not that I don't appreciate it, I've just been trying to absorb it and add to my own research. Currently veering towards a MB CMD121 and adding another 12" extension (Ashdown or Eden?) to give me a couple of easy to transport pieces of kit while still accessing the full 500w of the amp. Feels like 12"ers could be a good middle road and could complement my Jazz's mid tones. I'll post what I go for and report back on how it sounds!
