I don’t know anything regarding digital octaves

Chorus I quite like Tech21 Bass Boost Chorus

     versatility /options aplenty there

I’ve been through some good and not so good amps and I must say the ABM600 is proving to be the very best.

At first it takes time learning about the EQ and when to use or not use that famous Shape Button and you soon learn that this amp is a true gigging star.
I think I would be hard pressed to improve on it.

Im even liking the ABM cabs too

I very much like the old ABM cabinets. Still going strong. The ABM 1510HX is my favorite.

Once again they are not for everyone and certainly couldn’t be described as “Hi-Fi” but for me they work good.

I had a ABM115 blue speaker (Italy?) as well that was a bit “brighter”

I've had quite a few Ashdown amps, and the only times I've had to use the warranty was with a couple of ABM 600 heads. They were replaced without hesitation.

I have had no issue with Ashdown gear aside from wear and tear / basic maintenance.

Obviously will get a Tubes bill at some point for the CTM-300

When I have contacted them they always reply promptly when given my location they could choose to ignore me😂😂

It was heavy, harder to move and 'only' 100 watts, and I know is heresy around these parts to try and infer that a valve watt isn't worth at least 50 transistor watts, but if you want loud, the CTM does it. If you want clean and loud, the ABM does it better, and if you want any kind of control over your tone from the amplifier, the ABM does it a hell of a lot better - the CTM tone control is more like a set of hints to the amplifier than control as such. In fact, the knobs really don't do much, the buttons are the real tone control.

Oh and if you play in cramped venues with a single coil pickup, don't stand close to a CTM - it has a lot of transformers

The CTM EQ is somewhat quirky but has become my favorite. Magnificent with Passive Bass /Flatwound strings

I don’t think the CTM is for everyone but for me it’s the bees knees

I still use my 98 ABM Klystrom as well.

Thanks, Lozz, I might just have to order another set of LaBella strings, I like the tone of them, just fancied trying something different, but I don't think a scooped sound is what I'm after. Main reason for considering the Rotos is that they have in stock at the local PMT, LaBella means a drive to Leamington Spa or mail order.

GHS Precision Flats are IMO closer to LaBella.

( than Rotosound and Daddario Chromes)

I use the 105 E set GHS on a Fretless Jazz and a Tobias. Very smooth strings and great balance across the range.

I popped into Ashdown yesterday to buy a CTM 100  & they repaired my ABM1000 & serviced my LB550  while I waited. They gave me a tour & I can't believe how much time Mark , Dan & the team gave me .They even tried to fix the clutch on my Van .lol.   I love this company for loads of reasons , They take great pride in what they do & over the years they actually listen to the customer & act upon it . I think what ever make you use now you should A/B it against an Ashdoown .

Was that the B stock CTM?

I bought the CTM-300 a few years ago and it is my favourite amplifier

Nikka Costa - 'So Have I For You' [notation / tab]

    Original bass: Pino Palladino

Another Patreon request. I hadn't heard this tune before, but as soon as I did I knew I'd have fun transcribing it. It's a Pino Palladino masterclass in gradually building as a track goes on.

I'm almost 100% sure it's in D standard (D-G-C-F), as Pino tended to favour that tuning at the time.

Note: there's some weird stuff going on in the outro section, particularly bars 81-82. I gave it my best shot! 😂

    I quite like that album

she did some Prince stuff too

”Everybody Got Their Something” I transcribed for students both reading and plectrum practice.
