1. My son is a drummer and we have some stuff to shift. Zildjian K 16" (yes 16") light hats £220 Big Dog Double Pedals £80 Set of Hardcases (12, 13, snare, 16 + 22) £120 Slingerland 70s snare - Steel. Well worn but sounds good £80 As usual, pics later.
2. So glad these are not 5ers otherwise I would have yet another project that I will never get round to!
3. That is all sorts of lovely. I almost wish I played guitar.
4. I have had a few jobs done by Jim Fleeting recently. He has been like a breath of fresh air. The work is great. the timescale is as he says it will be and the comms are great. It is like being in a parallel universe compared to my normal luthier experiences.
5. Selling out is working in a job that you do not like because you need to be able to pay your bills. I happen to like my job, but would jump at the chance to sell out as a full time musician. All this talk of "keeping it real etc" totally ignores the way the industry works. Massive Attack bloke writer retired from music a long time ago but makes money that the rest of us would cry about every year from people paying to use his music in this, that and the other. Financially, the Video Game industry makes the Music industry look like children playing shop with plastic money and a till which goes "ching" every time it is opened. Selling out as a musician? Make enough money from music to not have to work a day job and even (just imagine) fund a decent pension pot? Yes please.
6. Ugh! I have inadvertantly given myself Pagelli GAS
7. And the winner is Marleaux Pagelli! Thanks everyone. Pagelli and Wishbass in the same thread. Who'd of thunk it?
8. Was it Swiss? I cannot remember. It was not a Ritter. IIRC there was gold leaf on the body. TIA
9.
Phil Manzanera introduces a flamenco player to his first time ever with an electric guitar.
Nice playing and everything, I would also like to hear more of him. First time ever? I sincerely doubt that.
10. Uh oh! http://www.thomann.d...a_guitarron.htm
11.
Fernandes Piezo: Hello Kitty edition.
That is the bomb!
12. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/246119-2-x-ev-sx300-speakers-ev-sba760-sub-yamaha-emx5000-powered-desk/ Without the sub and desk obv!
13. I have since flogged it and not managed to weigh it. It was no lightweight.

Alleva coppolo

I played one in The Gallery a few years ago. The bass I have owned longest is 66J which feels like home. The A-C felt like home.
15. I used to have an A3000. It was sublime. It could never be classed as 1U and light though Sorry, we are way off topic by now.
16. Different angles of the piece of Rosewood which will be the neck + fingerboard. The same piece of wood will be used to create a big one piece pickup cover which will house both J pickups in a big box. 17. 1U. Just fits in an SKB shallow rack. Nothing not to love other than they do not bridge to 4ohms. 700w into 8.
18.
Lightweight? Ahem!
Approx 11lbs iirc.
19. Chevin A500 or A700 on Ebay. Usually less than £240. Proper power amp. Not that anything else that has been suggested is not proper!
20. The electronics are pretty beefy. There is a really healthy signal out of it with Vol/Balance/Treble/Mid/Bass controls. It is not light but not in the house at the moment so I cannot weigh it. I will try and do so tomorrow.
21. It is a cracking piece of wood. I know you are a man who recognises a cracking piece of wood when you see one! I will also have a big, fat pickup cover which will be made out of the same piece of wood as the neck/fingerboard which will house the 2 x Fralin J5 things as well as acting as a ramp thang. The MM5 idea is not as lush as more lovely rosewood.
22. I guess the ACME/DB thing is horses for courses. I have a 12" ACME cab and I could not be happier with the noise it makes. I love the real LF heft it gives me. The extension all the way down to the bottom B is lush beyond. It is like sitting on a cushion of molten chocolate. And I mean that in a good way.
23. Fit!
24. I had one. It was noisy. I'm sure someone makes a quiter fan you could retrofit because it is a great amp.
