3.
You should be able to check by looking through the port holes. If you can pull a port tube out (don't know if they're glued), you should be able to see the plies of the baffle.
RIGHT, the port tube is getting pulled tonight and confirmation will be posted on here later, can everyone please standby! btw one small matter, is there anyone out there who actually wants to buy the thing?
  4.
Not wishing to cause issues but my (admittedly later) version was MDF...
Hmmm I may have to stand corrected, or I may just have to take the thing apart to check. I'll only do the later if someone is genuinely interested though.
  5.
Would you (or anyone) happen to know what kind of wood the cab is made of (i.e. plywood, MDF, chipboard)? A few more pictures would no doubt help the sale along. Do you know how heavy it is? Stevie
I'm 99% sure its plywood, it's a solid as a rock, it's no where near as heavy as the 1048 or the 1518's. The sound is awesome and there's less and less of these portable cabs available. Edit - Found this on the net Trace Elliot 1153 - 1x15 (ceramic), 200w, 8 ohm, 32Hz to 5 kHz, 49 lbs, 20" H x 24.2" W x 17.1" D If your interested I will take some pics, if not, thanks for your comments. Cheers Julian
  6.
Cracking cab, good price! (I sold one for the same a couple of months back...) Good luck
Thanks, I starting my war chest for a MM Stingray 5, got a bit of a way to go. Got a 12l Diving Cyliner (Beaver) if anyone's interested as well £100, oh sorry wrong forum hahaha! I bought a fantastic 1518 from orangpeelneil on here, great cab as well, really like it, mind you my back doesn't!!!!
  7. Hi, I'm selling my surplus to requirements Trace 1153 200w 8ohm cab. It's in great condition has the vinyl not carpet covering. Some minor marks and some screw holes where I moved some holders that top cabs sit into. The cone was replaced in 2002 and has NEVER let me down once. Was used for gigging until recently (I bought a Trace 1518 on this very site that I'd been gassing over for years). Live in Swindon, work in Brum so could be flexible on a meet if required. The cover is a bit torn in places but offers protection, and the tape over the jack socket is purely there so I can tell which of the sockets is the INPUT socket when setting the rig up in tight dark spaces. I've tried looking to see what the cab is made of (seems a point of discussion ) but am unable to tell sorry. Thanks for your interest. Julian 07900 931355
  8. Bought Neil's Trace 1518 cab last week. Bit of a treck but well worth the effort. Really pleased with cab and Neil seemed a really decent chap. Had to battle through loads of Brizzle City fans to get there, so seemed like I was in bandit country, but survived. Excellent purchase, and as already stated really pleased. Thanks
  9. Hi Neil, I'll have the amp, please pm me when are where we can arrange a pick up. Thanks Julian
Hello, As requested actual pictures of the cab.(Additional spare carpet not shown) Collection from Central Bristol BS3 or Thornbury Cheers Neil
10. Hi Neil, are you able to send some pics over as discussed last week? My contact details are in the pm sent to you last Thursday. Cheers Julian
  11.
I love the fact that your rig's three times the size of the guitarist's combo.
I know, it was always a source of amusement to me too, always had plenty of opportuity to crank up if needs be. In fact I had some feedback following this very gig that I was very loud!!! LOL!

    Hello
True words indeed, Sir. Welcome. Now hide the credit card.
LOL! only been on here a day and it looks like I'm about to spend some cash on the For sale / Wanted Forum.
  13.
Now that's a deal! Give me a shout when you want to sell it and get a Mark Bass combo.
I agree with the above, I still love the look of a trace rig, mine is on the RHS of the pic below.

    Hello

Just a short note to introduce myself to this site. I'm a midish 40 something bassist and p/t vocalist in a covers band (Uncle Jack) based out of the South of England. My enthusiasm and organisational skills far out weigh any musical talent that I may have. I suscribe to the theory that all mistakes and playing limitations can be overcome by volume and "front". Anyway my bass of choice is a MM Stingray with a Ricky 4003 and Fender P Bass as backups. My amp is a 500w Trace Elliot head put through Trace 4 x 10 and 1x 15 cabs, far too big for most venues (see point above), must be compensating for something or another. Don't use a lot of online sites although I do go on activebass on a regular basis for the banter. Anyway that's me, do a boring day job to sustain my hobby which is out gigging (and get paid to boot). My strength is that I really do know my limitations!!!
