As a for example, I could only find my feedback thread by looking for topics I created within my profile.  Wouldn't come up on the site search.  This was last updated less than a year ago.

From this end, I don't discern any speed issues.  It's only dropped out once on me, too...

That wasn't a no - you would always be heard.  My vagueness of response was due to it entirely depending on the strength of output of the bass.  In addition, it depends on how well your mixer handles an unbalanced, Hi-Z signal.  How good the pre-amp is, too.  As discussed on another thread about going ampless, the EQ options on a mixing desk can be more powerful than anything on your bass head.

Anyway, HB gear has been discussed previously on other threads, but to summarise - made by third parties, often copying older successful designs a la Behringer.  The HB pedals I've had on my board have been broadly good quality for the money paid.  I've gigged their flanger on my board for about 3 years.

Palmer are not necessarily out of budget territory either, which I was trying to convey.

Seems to have been a lot of these 'If You Could Have One...'  threads of late.  I don't generally engage too much because I think recommendation can only get you so far, as with YT demos, etc.  You have to physically try these things out to know if it works for you, with your bass / rig.  However, this one seems different.

At first, I thought this thread was reading a bit like looking for validation for the Palmer, as opposed to looking for alternatives.  There's a pretty specific list of criteria - including size - for which most other suggestions will probably not meet.  If the Palmer meets or exceeds one's wshes, the only way to know if it works is to bite the bullet, so to speak.  In any event, I thought I'd look around for something meeting the criteria outside of the Palmer - and found Harley Benton do the same functionality in a similar sized enclosure (2cm wider, 0.7cm deeper) for about 85 quid...

Also, has a compressor instead of the noisy o/d circuit on the Palmer.  Sounds a lot like the old 3Leaf mentioned previously - the way that Harley Benton tend to operate.

As an aside - the Palmer brand is part of the Adam Hall group of companies, I found out the other day.  Same for Gravity Stands.  I had wondered how they'd grabbed a lot of metaphorical shelf space quite so quickly.

I've only used one Palmer product before, which was their bass O/D pedal.  It performed okay, and seemed fairly robust.  I note that Thomann knock out quite a lot of the Palmer range.  I think the general quality of HB gear has been discussed on these pages previously.

Quite - £400  should get you a decent (if not super high end) second hand head and cab.  The head will do all the things you want.  Further, £400 would get you a good 250w combo new - definitely a TC BG250 at least, in whatever speaker config you wanted.

Out of interest, what attracts you to the PF-500?  They don't have the best rep for reliability or build quality.

Used in dual mono, with one earhole as a me, one as a mix. The 'me' part coming either locally (i.e. parallel output) or an insert out from the desk aside from the output aux. ut then we do that because we run out of auxes.  If you had enough for one each, super!

I meant the Wal, running into a rackmount (dbx?) compressor , fx unit and amp all barking out of a 102P and some other (Fender Bassmanish?) cabinet.

The more I play my Ergo EUB, the less I play my resonator - so I think it's time to go.

Approx 2002 Ozark Resonator Bass, in good condition, complete with hard case customised to fit.  I've owned it from new, and had a lot of fun playing it in different jazz and blues outfits.  The eagle-eyed amongst you will notice that it's the slightly later version with the pickup and tone and volume in a similar place to a P Bass.  The bass is currently strung with some old D'Addario Chromes.

The bass is made of Nickel plated Steel, with a single brass bell sitting within the body on top of a biscuit bridge. Mahogany neck, Rosewood fingerboard.

Located in Hertford, able to deliver within a 50 mile radius for cost of fuel.  Otherwise collection would be preferable - but postage / courier can be arranged.

I bought a Studio 220 earlier this year from BC's own Heathy which I have now partnered with a with a 2x350w power amp for some more oomph.  I run it through my HD112s and it sounds superb!

I think it might be just the names of things that might be making you feel like this is complicated.

It's just as EBS excellently put it earlier - You can use your amp head to supply sound to the PA by using the three-pronged connection on the back of your amp.  You can then have a smaller speaker cabinet as you're only supplying sound up to your ear.  From the front of stage on, the PA speakers take over.  Alternatively you can go over to an 'ampless' system of just using a pedal sized box that connects directly to the PA.  What you hear back can then be through a monitor speaker or through in-ear monitors - which are like specialised earphones.

Like EBS says - stick at it.  It's just a different way of doing the same thing you did before.

Another one for the Radial Tonebone Bassbone here.  A great two channel pre-amp with two different types of EQ with an assignable boost circuit, plus XLR DI out and parallel amp out.  It does need it's own power supply, tho.

I have the original version - I see the present one has grown a loop circuit, and sensibly moved the XLR output to the back of the unit, too...
