    I've recently purchased a 2nd hand Spector Euro LX4 which I love a lot both in terms of playability and sound BUT I have a problem, I guess, with the Tone Pump preamp. Instead of trying to describe it in my non native language I attached an audio file of the noise I get from the preamp for you to listen. At the beginning of the audio file bass and treble knobs are fully counterclockwise and you could hear the very annoying noise: then I go to full on the treble knob and you can of course hear the noise increase. Before giving your valued advice please note that: 1) The noise is always there: it gets worse if I stay closer to the amp and face it but, tough less evident, it’s still there even if I stand 6 meters away and turn my back to the amp. 2) It’s not the battery (tried couple of fresh duracell 9v); 3) It’s not the cable (tried many); 4) It's not the amp (other basses don't do it) and It’s not the preamp section of the amp (-14db is engaged on the preamp, if it’s disengaged things get worse; also if bass is plugged in the effect send/return of the amp noise it’s still there). 5) It’s not a matter of adjusting the trimpot on the TonePump (noise it’s still there even with the trimpot almost to zero); Thank you for any idea, tought, advice you want to share..     Up for sale a time machine beauty, Yamaha TRB6P, Made in Japan, in almost perfect condition. Everything original down to the last screw, no dings to write home about. Serial number tracks down to June 1988, making this one of the very first pieces produced. This basses usually have flame maple two-piece top but this one has an incredible quilted maple, making it even more unique. Neck is straight as an arrow, as you would expect from the 5 pieces maple and mahogany neck-through construction, capped with the black ebony fingerboard. Trussrod works perfectly in both directions. Pickups, piezo and preamp all original and in perfect working order. No case. Bass will be professionally packed and shipped with air courier. Insurance will be provided. Price is 2200 GBP/2600 Euros, which include shipping to UK or UE countries and insurance. Now the eyes candy…

    Up for sale a beautiful 2009 Roadworn Jazz Bass in classic Three Color Sunburst. This bass is from the first batch of this serie, the most desiderable one, because in later years they progressively cut in materials and quality control until they finally discontinued the serie: they were giving to the Custom Shop basses a good run for the money! On top of the factory relic this has 15 years of honest wear and has a truly vintage vibe. The neck has some nice flame and the rear is treated with Casey oil and gunstock wax, like Musicmans, so it’s smooth and fast. The pickups have been upgraded with the fantastic Fender Custom Shop 60s J. Original pickups are included in the sale. Neck is straight as an arrow, trussrod works perfectly in both directions, frets are totally fine. Action set at 1.75mm at 12th fret E string (gradually sloping at 1.5mm for the G string) and bridge saddles have a lot more room for adjustment. Truly Custom Shop quality, sound and vibe at a fraction of the price. No gig bag but will be professionally packed from my local Mail Boxes Etc.     EDIT: I’ve found some info from a gentleman here who looked deep into VAT and duties for an instrument imported in the UK. It will be a 3% customs duty charge + a 20% VAT charge. I want to add that since shipment and insurance (which are included in the 1400 GBP asked price) are roughly 150 GBP, the declared value of the bass (which customs and duties will be calculated on) will be 1250 GBP… but I will happily discuss this point with any interested parties via PM 😉

    I’ve recently passed through a phase where I tried to find a nice P in the current Fender production… IMO nothing, not even USA Professional Serie or American Vintage, could touch a Stingray both in wood’s quality and construction wise.

    Thanks man… to be honest I was just wondering what crossed my mind about this Paypal nonsense… I have +20 years recorded history here , on Talkbass and MercatinoMusicale. I’ve had people wiring to my account “Fodera money” so to speak, I have a golden reputation and, nonetheless, suddenly some jerk pops up claiming he’s “more comfortable” with Paypal. You are right my friend. To the potential buyer: 1600 eur into my bank account… that’s the only way. It’s a hell of a BASS for that amount of money… it’s a brand new German Thumb almost 50% off it’s price. I’m not in a hurry to sale.

    After two transactions gone bad because the stupid funds block, I was notified by PayPal that from now on the system won’t block money flow into my account anymore. So from now on I will accept PayPal payments. Mind however that in this case 1) I will not include the insurance because it’s already included in PayPal Goods and Services, and 2) I will ship the bass only after the transfer from my PayPal account to my Bank account is completed.

    Same bass (except mine has gold hardware from factory) demoed by the great player/funny guy Kade Tuner. At the beginning he goes through the specs for both the 4 and the 5 strings. Demo of the 4 strings starts at minute 6:00. This baby has a nice percussive quality to the tone which is very even from the lowest to the highest note. Exquisite piano clarity voice.

    Bass is back for sale. I’ve been contacted by some guy … the kind of guy I usually don’t waste my time even talking to. As a result I missed locally a bass I lusted for a long time. My bad… So, some word to the wise: 1) I won’t even talk with someone who isn’t a regular here. Not to mention lurkers and clowns.. 2) price is 1600 euros including shipping and insurance. 3) only method of payment is money transfer to my bank account. As money come in the bass goes out. Simple as that.
