I had a 96 Jazz and that definitely had a 50th anniversary sticker on it.

If it is being passed off as a real Fender, then perhaps Trading Standards should be advised as I think it would be an offence.

It should be a criminal offence. I bought a P bass with loads on the scratch plate once. Even after removing them you could see the shapes as the plate had changed colour but not under the stickers.  Cleaned and sanded it to within an inch of its life but could still see the shapes. Sold it on.

I hanker for an EB2 as well, the annoying thing I used to own one! They don’t play that well, but still………,  not at the silly prices they are asking now. I traded mine for £650.
