1. ah right, i think in that case then i might just put it on the warwick forum for £700 and just leave it there until it gets some interest. Thanks for the help
 2.
It's always a mistake to ask for comments about price as you'll rarely get someone telling you its worth a wedge more than you anticipate! If I was looking to buy and haggle you down I might well point you in the direction of this recent ebay sale; £399 for a BO 4 string... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WARWICK-THUMB-BOLT-O...1QQcmdZViewItem However I could equally find a couple of NT Thumbs from the same period that went for £850 - £900. Are they worth double what a BO is worth? You might well strike lucky and sell for £700 but if you don't need to sell I'd just hold on to it... saying that it may be some time till this recession breaks!
Ok thats great thanks, to be honest im thinking somewhere between £600 and £700, obviously the closer to 700 the better. Though the ebay link is a bit damming do you think worst case its likely to go at £600? Thanks
 3. Hi, im thinking of selling my warwick thumb 5 string and would probably be looking for a quick sale, but with the current state of the market i dont know if its worth holding onto. Ive seen on the forum one for £850 so i was thinking £700 would be a good figure for a quick sale, but yet again with the state of the market am i thinking sky high and if so what would be a more reasonable figure. The bass is in good condition and was made in 2002. Thanks for any help. Sean
 4.
I've always meant to ask... what is the actual colour of the bass?
Hi, the colour is black, though any other colour it may appear is probably due to me picking a camera up on sale thinking bargain... evidently it wasn't :/
 5.
Seems odd that they've gone from a floor unit to a desktop unit ?
Theres a pedal board, sold as an accessory to pair with it though:
 6.
Any sound or video clips yet mate?
Hi, not yet im afraid, i still need to buy some form of audio interface, im waiting until something comes up on here or a PreSonus Audiobox comes up cheap on ebay, ill get some up when i get it sorted though. Sean
 7. Personally id wait until a Japanese bass comes up on the forum, usually around the £250 mark and then mod that
 8.
It's all UK made now which probably accounts for the cost. I think they're pretty good, but certainly wouldn't pay that much for them - there's a lot of other things around the same pricemark which I prefer.
+1 theres a lot you can get for that price range, also i cant help but think your paying for the brand at the price as old trace stuff has such a hype
 9.
As a lead guitarist returning to bass after many years, I'm faced with deciding how to spend my very limited funds on an outfit suitable for blues, modern worship and contemporary Christian. I've pretty nearly decided on a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass - but am much less sure about the amp end of things. I don't need vast power, just enough to keep up with an intelligent (!) drummer, keyboards and a guitarist with a Peavey Vintage 30 (v loud for the wattage 30W 1x12 tube amp) in the blues band. The worship band is not as loud, normally. A combo would be handy, but I've nothing against a half-stack per se. I actually positively like solid-state for bass, which is good, since I need to keep under £600 absolute max for the whole kit! Any brilliant ideas what I should try?
Hi, personally if it was me i dont think you can get much better value for your money than a second hand trace elliot from the flea bay. If your especially not looking for lots of power you could probably get something for close to the 100 mark, id go for somethig with a gp7, gp11 or gp12 head depending on how much control you want from the EQ mainly and then youd be left with around £500 for a bass. Even something like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Trace-Elliot-GP7SM-1...id=p3286.c0.m14 i say even as its one ugly piece of kit in my opinion but aside from that one blight of aesthetics trace stuff is usually quite pleasing to the eye. Hope this helps.
 10.
I was just kidding Sean
why whats wrong with the flea?
 11.
How about I chuck in the Vt .40 & swap them both for the Flea
ooo no, id have no use for the vt now, im in love with the fafner, the vt would just sit on my side and look pretty, plus if were talking the blue sparkle flea if anything else kate would never let me part with it
 12.
No wheels I'm afraid, although I think you can buy them & they just slot straight in
ah great, if only i had the money and id be biting your hand off for it, is it speakon connection or 1/4 inch?
 13.
I have a CIJ P bass and an American built Highway 1 and the holes are in the same place so you should be ok....an American Standard guard fits the Highway 1. I bought mines from Stratosphere on Ebay got them for around £20 each inc post...a parchment one from an american standard and red tortoise shell one from a 62 RI.
Ok, thanks for the help, it means i know what im looking for now
 14.
Is there a particular colour you are after?
Hi, yes im looking for a black pickguard
 15. Hi, could anyone tell me if there is a difference in size for Japanese p bass pickguards or will a standard american one fit. Also are the 62 reissue pickguards a different size to standard USA? Oh and finally does anyone know a place that sells good cheap pickguards. Sean
 16. would it be very inapriate for me to slip in a cheeky advertisement? if anyone is a particular fan of jeff neck i have for sale a modulus flea, previously owned by his bassist randy hope taylor; http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=30311 sorry for interrupting the thread
 17.
I see the lure of the American $ was stronger than your revulsion of paying to advertise!
Haha yes unfortunatly, i still have my principles but the foresight not to spite myself for them.... shall we say? That said so far my $20 have only bought me a 'woah sweet bass' and a 'very very nice'
 18.
+1 Sean would you perhaps be able to get some sound clips or a video up? You could be sitting on a real beauty here & people may not quite know it.
Sure i can see what i can do, i havent got the RHT here with me at university but i do have another flea bass with a lane poor which i could use if thats ok with everyone? well once i get a new audio interface of some sort.
 19. new for sale/ for trade thread here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=30311
 20.
You called The Gallery see if they would be interested to take it back?
Hi, no i havnt yet, though like all bass shops ive just assumed theyd offer me an insultingly low price for it, has anyone had experience with them in selling a bass to them?
 21. Hi, ive decided to pull the bass from ebay with the current state of the market and relist it here, mainly for trade/part ex or for sale at £1400. As such i decided it needed a new thread, here are some pictures and please message me with all trades or offers, they will all be considered. The bass is a 1997 Modulus Flea and has TWO of the very much sought after Lane Poor pickups. It was previously owned by Randy Hope Taylor and features his own custom inlay on the fret board. Here is the spec: Two Lane Poor Pickups with individual volume pots Custom Inlay Bartolini Preamp Boost Switch 3 way Active / Passive / Mute Switch Gotoh Bridge
 22.
Fair points. I so nearly bought this bass when it was first on here. I must admit I wasn't all that impressed by its history, just the fact it was an older (i.e., better) Modulus Flea with two LPs. Personally I would withdraw it from ebay for a while and relist in a few weeks? Alternatively - and I'm not sure if you have already - you could offer it for trade/PX on here. That might tempt a BCer who really wants it but who doesn't have cash whilst providing you with a more easy to sell instrument (starts checking through spare basses )? Good luck anyway, great bass and you must be gutted to be selling it. Chris
Hi, to be honest i think thats the way forward, the guy wanting to buy the pickups says he needs about a month anyways so ive pulled it from ebay and im going to start a new thread for the bass mainly aimed at trades as you say, that and i wouldnt half mind a rickenbacker if someone decides to offer me one
 23.
No, bad idea. Firstly, an offer is not the same as a deal, the fact that he's offered £400 doesn't mean he'll pay it or that the sale won't go t*its up. Secondly, advertise it on ebay for Worldwide delivery and don't make a big thing about RHT, just the fact that it's a great bass. My first Flea sold within an hour of being listed worldwide having sat on ebay UK for a couple of weeks. Thirdly, I'm pretty sure non-orig PUPs will work out to be a false economy sales wise once you've paid for them and had them professionally fitted. Chris
Hi, the listing is for worldwide, pretty much sums up the sorry state of the market at the moment, i remember about a year and a half ago where i was looking at my first modulus and they were going for around £1500 with a single lane poor. Im thinking ever more about talkbass now its been mentioned, i dont like the idea but i suppose i can leave it sitting there for a good couple of months until i get desperate, may even pull the ebay listing. I definitely wouldn't go gutting the bass until the money was in my account though that is for sure.
 24.
Funnily enough I do like it - just that I have this slightly awkward situation with rehearsals that are too far for me to get to in any way other than by bike & the 4x10 doesn't fit on the back Would only be able to use it for gigging & even then it's complicated so it's just sitting in my garage not doing very much Decided to go for a rig with a pair of 1x12 cabs - can keep one at rehearsal room & the other at home & then put them together for gigging.
Ah im glad, i felt that awful at the thought my recommendation influenced you buying the cab and that youd hated it. Is it the version with wheels or not?
