2.
Didn't know it cost to advertise on talkbass. How much would it be? Talkbass would really open a big market (obviously lol)
Hi, it costs $20 so just over a tenner and thats for 'a years membership' i just think its a bit much to have to subscribe to a community, especially when im sure they make plenty of money from advertising.
 3.
It isn't a case of no one being interested... I've PMd you and shown interest! However the 'price' at which the interest turns into a sale is another matter. For my £0.02 worth I'd have to say that the RHT inlay and provenance of the bass doesn't add a bean to the price, in fact if anything it makes it a bit too personal. I'm also 'intrigued' to know what LP's sound like but if they were taken out of the bass and replaced with something quality and the price of the bass was reduced by £400... Hmm I really don't know!
Well that is true and thank you for your interest, though i just mean in general it doesn't seem to generate a lot of interest, to be honest its the two lane poors that i thought would generate the interest, i just the the RHT inlay looks nice. You have pointed out an interesting point though, what would be quality replacements and a figure that really generates interest? Seymour Duncans? or would it have to be Bartolinis? Would £900 be a good price? Thanks for the help
 4.
Traded with another BC user not very long ago and only used at home since. Great condition 'reference' 4x10. Happy to deliver within a reasonable radius from Henley if someone wanted to pay petrol costs. Trading to a pair of smaller cabs to give me greater flexibility for rehearsal & gigging May trade for something smaller or of lower value (basses included) or make me an offer, you never know how I might respond
Hi, i take it the cab D410 XLT wasn't to your taste?
 5.
I thought about doing almost the same thing as it happens Well, kind of - I was going to take the Lane Poors & stick them in a custom build Sei bass. I think without the Lane Poors it would be harder to sell from an RHT perspective. It would become a Flea with RHT association rather than the one that he took around the world with Jeff Beck. However, having said that, a Flea with 2 x Duncans or Barts etc + £400 might be worth more than the bass as it stands. Difficult call really - worst case example would that it'd fetch £1,200 as it stands or £900 as a basic twin pickup Flea. On that basis you'd have the hassle of sourcing & fitting the pickups & not making any cash gain Maybe sell something else now & hang on until the market picks up a bit?
To be honest hanging on to it would be the ideal situation, but i need to sell it before my Shuker comes through and something tells me thats were talking about years for the market to pick up as apposed to months :/
 6.
Shame really. You tried advertising on TB? That bass looks too interesting to be gutted out, imo, but do what you must do.
Hi, i don't really like the principle of talk bass where they charge you to list your bass on what is supposed a community, id love not to gut it, i feel a little guilty thinking of it really, but it doesnt look like anyone is interested in it on here along with everyone going through financially difficult times at the moment.
 7. Hi ive posted this in the general bass discussion but i dont know if this section is more relevant. I dont know if everyone has seen the flea bass im selling on ebay and on here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=160293054576 http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=29309 but ive had an interesting offer from america from a guy offering to buy the lane poor pickups for £400. Does anyone think this would be the best option, then sell the bass with say a pair of seymour duncans, or would it be more profitable to sell the bass intact? Also how much would a pair of seymour duncan replacements cost, im guessing off ebay around £100 intotal? Thanks for any input. Sean
 8.
Ok, thanks guys Now being a student, I'll only have the money ready in about 2 months time (give or take a few weeks). So unfortunately the basses you guys sent me links to will probably be sold.. but now I know what to look for So a MIJ bass from the 80's-90's would be a solid choice, yes?
Ive just bought a MIJ from a guy on here and its amazing, especially for the price. Ive owned a MIA before and while it was nice, certainly wasnt the same value for money as the MIJ. Also to me i think the neck on the MIJ is far nicer compared to the MIA and while i might upgrade the PUPs, that will cost no more than £50 at which point the MIJ will sound as good and play nicer than the MIA all for £280 in total so couldn't recommend more.

 13. Just had a reply 'hello, I'm in Menstrie,Clackmannanshire about 40 miles from Edinburgh. You can come and collect it anytime.Alternatively I can post it to your address, send me your zip for a postage quote. Regards, Anna' I dont know whether this makes it anymore genuine or not, but it worries me how none of my questions where answered, that said, we now have a Scottish town and a offer to collect whenever i want, shame Scotland is a bit of a jog from Huddersfield without a car.

I never saw it complete on ebay.
May be up on ebay again soon, lovely chap who bought it is still yet to pay or reply for that matter of fact, so just to build a little hype and open the table again for offers it will be back on ebay next thursday, unless anyone on here hits me with an offer prior
 21.
Hi all I will be purchasing a new bass in November/December time and was wondering which places (in the East Midlands/South Yorkshire area) I will need to check out. I already know about Electromusic in Doncaster but I would like to visit a few shops to try out as many basses as I can. I live in Lincoln and anywhere within a couple of hours drive would be fine. I am (almost certainly) buying a Stingray, but I could be tempted with other options as and when I see/try them. Many thanks Rick
Electro music is probably one of the better shops in S.Yorks, though its a little bit of a hit and miss in my opinion to whether they will have a stingray in stock. Sound Control at Manor Top in Sheffield have quite a good stock from what ive seen and always a musicman, though Electro is the better shop and in a far pleasanter area, i certainly wouldn't waste any time between getting from the car and the shop in manor top :S
 22. Ill admit this has aught my curiosity, though im a little put off by the £20 tickets, has anyone been to one of these before and are they worth the money?
