I just picked up a beautiful second hand one from Wunjo's on Denmark Street. Absolutely beautiful instrument. They had a new one too but this one just felt right straight away; guess whoever bought it previously had it set up really well. Plays like butter...

I absolutely love mine after a good set up and some Flea BassBoomers it sounds epic and plays amazingly

Are you going to have the Lakers paintjob?!

Dunno I have the Modulus pink sparkle and the flea pink jazz so maybe something a bit different to pink! Need to get a neck sorted too!

The problem is that Flea himself said that the Jazz was great for recording but didn't cut through enough for live work - I'm guessing he is using a Jazz shaped bass with a Stingray pickup due to the deal with Fender instead of the Modulus.

That's why I don't see the point in the actual signature bass unless you're using it for recording or don't want to sound like Flea live. If any of us want to sound like Flea or at least use what he is using currently live then we're going to need the one with the musicman pickup in it.

I'd certainly like one of those

Yeah I'm collecting the parts to have one built. Can't wait to get cracking with the build

They are on form right now, be sure to get there in time for Baby Metal, maybe brush up your dance moves and pigtails too!

Don't quite understand if Baby Metal were mental or brilliant! Or both! The band were tight as a tight thing though!

  5. Yeah I went last night and took my boy (10) who was desperate to see them. He sat open mouthed sand couldn't believe he was actually watching them live! That's what gigs are about! Overall I thought they were excellent and with the set lasting over 1.5hrs they never stopped playing, the little bridge pieces were great and they looked like they were all enjoying being there. Josh has finally settled in and looks the part now, albeit no John F but makes it his own!

Flea man, what a dude! Never stopped moving, bopping, jumping and walking on his hands. Top fella and cracking night! Will live long in the memory of my boy too!

  6. Well just dropped mine off at The Bass Doc having only played it once or twice on fully open which sounded canny, however it was deffo a Friday late afternoon build! The pick ups were wired up wrong, only 3 wires and a bit arse over tit I believe the expression goes! However I know once it's back tomorrow after H messes with it enough it will be Bob on! Still love it though and can't wait to get it back.
