**SOLD** Musicman Stingray 4 Classic 'Vintageburst' this is a really fabulous instrument in mint condition. Beautiful birds Eye Maple Neck (Natural aged finish), 9 Volt 2 Band Eq, String-through Body, Classic Bridge with String Mutes,.Musicman Hardshell Case Included. EXTRAS Comes with the original white pick guard or the black one that's fitted at the moment. I've also installed a Hipshot BT 1 D-Tuner (worth £70) - I can re-install the original or leave this on. Jim Dunlop 'Straplok' Strap retainers are also installed and of course I will include the original strap buttons. Weight: 4.5 kg I'm only selling to fund a custom bass I've always been after. Stingray Classic Natural (or Vintage Sunburst)
woodywyatt replied to lowdowner's topic in General Discussion
I will be selling mine exactly the same as this next week 😉 -
Which company is that with? AH..PMT, just saw that

Thanks so much for all the input everyone. I'm off to Barcelona in a couple of weeks and there's a shop there that has a TM4 in stock. If I'm suitably impressed, (judging by what I've seen and read I think I will be) I'll place an order for a custom build. Config : CANT4-TM:D-N-4S-34-HCR-BK-ALD-NOT-PFF-F-DTA-MHHG-ANIH-CLT-2EQ+SSW-TP-X-RH in case anyone's interested 😏 I'm hoping the Musicman Stingray classic won't be too hard to move on..

Thanks guys, I'm swinging towards a TM at the moment. Hoping to try out both next week. Anyone know of current waiting times for custom builds?

I'm looking at moving on from my Stingray classic and buying a Sandberg California TM4 or possibly VM4 (hardcore aged). Are there massive tonal differences? Like Jazz or P bass? Also is there a big difference in the necks? Anyone out there had/have both models? Thanks!

Musicman Stingray Classic or Sandberg TM4 Hardcore Aged?!
woodywyatt replied to woodywyatt's topic in Bass Guitars
Wow, very nice! I have to try the VM4 first & then if all good sell on my Musicman Classic so I'm pretty sure this will be gone before then -
Musicman Stingray Classic or Sandberg TM4 Hardcore Aged?!

Yep, I guess I need to try both the TM & the VM before making the decision to sell my beloved Stingray Classic. Watch this space! -
Musicman Stingray Classic or Sandberg TM4 Hardcore Aged?!
woodywyatt replied to woodywyatt's topic in Bass Guitars
That's good to hear. Yeah, I'm not really expecting it to replicate the sound of the Stingray, it just seems a bit more versatile. I love the aging too! It's looking more like the old Stingray will have to go.. I've seen Sandberg California II listed in a few places, what's the difference? -
I currently own a lovely Musicman Stingray Classic sunburst but I've recently been 'gassin out' on Sandbergs TM4 Hardcore Aged bass up to the point now, where I'm actually seriously considering selling my Stingray (shock) Has anyone owned a Sandberg TM4? Thoughts? How does it compare to the Stingray? It sure does sound good! Any pointers appreciated!

Ampeg V-4B -to SVT 212 Unshielded Speaker Cable?

Thanks for the help guys, I'll go ahead and order the Amazon one -
Ampeg V-4B -to SVT 212 Unshielded Speaker Cable?
woodywyatt replied to woodywyatt's topic in Amps and Cabs
Not sure about that, some speaker cables say shielded. Seems to be a lot of confusion.. I found these on Amazon, maybe they'll do http://amzn.eu/7r1dsiU -
I've just purchased and Ampeg V-4B and an SVT 212 cab, the manual suggests using an 'unshielded' Speaker Cable (18 gauge cable or heavier 16, 14, or 12) Can anyone recommend one that's ready made? From Ampeg: "Using instrument cable to hook up your speakers can cause intermittent power loss, cause your amp to oscillate and damage the amp and/or your speakers" Thanks

Thanks MacDaddy Sibob - Yep, did think of that at first but its just weight really. I've ordered a snapdragon now. Won't be as nice as my Stingray Classic but I'll post an update when it arrives..

Quite interested in this to take on my travels just to keep my hand in while on holidays. Would it easily fit into a suitcase?

Thanks for the sound advice folks, I'm just going to insist on bank transfer, too much to lose! Can't believe no one in the UK has even made an offer on it yet!
-
Well, its a Geddy Lee USA, so its worth over £1000 so yes, it would need to be insured. Buyer not a regular. PayPal - I've read on a couple of forums about PayPal's new 180 day return / complaint policy. Not good from a sellers point of view

Hi all, I have someone from Italy who is interested in buying my bass. He’s also stipulated he only wants to pay via PayPal (he will pay fees). I’m thinking of using UPS as they’ll only be one company involved all the way. Anyone had any experience shipping overseas from UK, and also using PayPal as payment, and maybe an idea of price for UPS shipping with insurance ? Thanks for any help
