I'm based in the Canary Islands and taking my bass back to the UK in a few weeks to sell. I can't say the name of the bass for fear of Topic deletion I'm not trying to push the sale here just looking best place to advertise online in the UK before I fly back. Want to avoid eBay costs!

Had a reply from a guy in the US and he told me his new USA Geddy bass was awesome. Comparing his other Japan GL bass with the new usa model, he said the neck does feel a little thicker but certainly isn't a [i]huge[/i] difference. Tone wise he said the USA model has more grit to it compared to the Japan model and is a better built guitar overall. I'm used to a Rickenbacker neck so I would imagine the US Geddy will be a lot slimmer than that?

Thanks Steve, won't be buying just yet, still have to sell my Rickenbacker 4003. Just wanted to know how the new Geddy felt and sound. I'm not even sure it's released in the UK yet even though Dawsons Music have it advertised

Has anyone tried one of these yet, or better still purchased one? I’m looking into buying a Geddy Lee bass in the next couple of months and really love the look of the new USA [url="http://intl.fender.com/en-ES/basses/jazz-bass/us-geddy-lee-jazz-bass-maple-fingerboard-black/"]version[/url]. If anyone has tried one, how much of a noticeable difference is there between the [url="http://intl.fender.com/en-ES/basses/jazz-bass/geddy-lee-jazz-bass-maple-fingerboard-black-3-ply-white-pickguard/"]MIJ[/url] Geddy Lee basses and new US version? What about this new thick "C" neck shape, and of course how does it sound in comparison? I can only find one video on YouTube which doesn't really showcase it that well. I currently own a Squier VM 70’s which sounds great but I love that Geddy growl!

3 bolt would be cool but all depends on price I suppose. Yeah I really love the look of the Road Worn Jazz but the 70's ones have the the bridge pick up further back and I prefer that sound. Don't mind the distresed look really. Haven't heard of Limelight?

After much thought Ive decided to sell/trade my Rickenbacker 4003 and go for an original Fender Jazz. I already have a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass and love the sound but can’t seem to shake the feeling I want an original Fender (70's style) So, I’ve narrowed it down to 2 choices, either a new Fender FSR American Vintage '75 Jazz Bass (Aged Natural) or an old Vintage 70’s bass. Any help greatly appreciated

I’ve recently purchased a Squier vintage modified 70's as a back up bass, my main bass is a Rickenbacker 4003. I have been so surprised with how good the Squier VM 70's plays and sounds I’m now even considering selling on the Ric and buying an original Fender However, would it be worth the spend? Apart from wood quality is there really that much difference? If so, which model would sound like (and hopefully better) than the Squier vintage modified 70’s? Theres so many Fender Jazz models no idea where to start! Quite like the look of the Geddy Lee version. Any help appreciated
