1.
Any Chance that your mate Simon Might be visiting the west of Ireland (my location) anytime soon ? . If so the Guinness is on me Having such an experienced tech as your colleague service the unit would be ideal. Just wonder it practical to ship this piece of delicate Hi Fi across the ocean?. i understand a special shipping box is required.
Never, never ship a lp12 without the box and packaging. The bearing is a right off if you do. I would look for an old school hifi shop ( someone still stuck in the 1980s ) that are FACTORY TRAINED on the lp12. This might take sometime but will be worth the effort. Also try calling Linn to see if they can help. A service will cost around £200.
2. Hi, I work in the hifi industry and there are not many people left who can service a LP12 property. It needs the correct tools to align the suspension and needs great care and patience to get the most from the deck. We are in Reading at Audio T and my colleague Simon has been servicing the LP12 for over 20 years. Hope this helps.

5. Bargain elert...
6. Love it.
7. I have a standard elwood and Jake and both are under 4kg as the bodies are smaller than the fender equivalent. The build quality is amazing for the price and Adrian will custom build to your design.
8. I would check out these... http://www.public-peace.de/index.php/bass-guitars/maruszczyk/elwood/4-string/1266-elwood-l-4a-24-amazaque140333 Adrian makes a few light weight basses around the 7lb mark. Hope this helps.
9. I use the 12 inch combo. I also really love the punchy sound. http://www.bassbarn.co.uk/epages/es140349.mobile/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es140349/Products/425 What really impressed me was the valve / solid state blend control on the preamp. I can go from super clean to overdrive with a simple turn of the blend knob. No need for pedals or multiple heads. 300 watt, 25kg combo with a versatile preamp.... Perfect 👌
10. I bought from stock..... only a three day wait. Ha ha. I'm sure time will fly by, just think of your new toy and the fun you will have.
11. I put in a set of dimarzios with a serial / parallel switch and the sound is classic P with a huge sound.
12. I have for sale a new set of Delano JC4AL pickups for a Jazz bass. Offered at half price £90 plus £5 postage. Please see link for tech details..... http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Delano_Jazz_pickups.html Thanks.

14.
Good to see you guys ordering new basses. I've just placed my order for the fiesta red Elwood to go with my Jake. It's in stock and will be with me in around a week.
The Elwood turned up a few hours ago. Had a quick play and I'm a very happy bass man. Will put up pics later.
15. I've used his YouTube channel and really enjoyed his teaching style. Would love to have a one to one lesson with him.
16. Come on. Stop this childish posting and go and play your bass. Someone lock this thread.

18.
I'd go for the Elwood. Like the idea of having team both in fiesta red. The Glockenklang 2-Band EQ is amazing. Had it in my custom Jake 5 for a couple of days to test. Crystall clear tone. And I guess it really makes sense on a Jazz Bass!
I'm thinking the same. An Elwood with the same finish would be awesome.
19. Help me decide guys. I already have a fiesta red Jake which has a demarzio DP122 PICKUP and flat wound strings that sounds very heavy. I need a modern bright sound to complement the Jake. Which of the following would you choose... http://www.public-peace.de/index.php/bass-guitars/maruszczyk/frog/4-string/270-frog-beta-4a-graphite-black130349 http://www.public-peace.de/index.php/bass-guitars/maruszczyk/elwood/4-string/313-elwood-4a-fiesta-red120260 http://www.public-peace.de/index.php/bass-guitars/maruszczyk/jazzus/jaz-4str/288-jazzus-4a-pelham-blue130067 Thanks for the help.
