Was giving some thought to this one, but found out the VIP tickets were right at the back of the gig-area. If you're paying a premium price, then surely doesn't this mean you're in a half circle up the front? It's not all about proper bogs.
I bought vip tickets (wedding anniversary treat) and it was a total waste of money. We went to the vip area and it was too far from the stage! Went down to stage front where there was still loads of room, much better sound. Toilets, bars, food etc all far beyond what I’ve seen at these sort of events before for standard admission. No need to pay the extra. It was one of the most relaxed, grown up gigs and audience I’ve been to. Plenty of kids and babies in pushchairs around the site. Felt like a gig for members of the national trust (if you know what I mean). -
Sigur ros. On the mount at Wasing.
Beautiful outdoor venue. All wildflowers and smell of joss sticks burning away. Great sound, loads of clarity and power.
Band were superb. Bass wise, so much power in hitting a simple whole note with loads of compression and octaver. Rattles your insides. All about building the soundscapes. -
This is a new one to me. States is an original custom colour but never seen it before. I think it’s cool! Tricky one to dress to though.

Bit Vic reeves in the club style now. Maybe he’s forgotten the words!

How much better is Elton’s sound than GNR? That stingray is slicing through the mix wonderfully.

The internet tells me ampeg made a similar design in the 1960s for guitar or bass. These looks new! I think you’re correct these are custom from someone, probably ashdown.
-
Dave’s voice isn’t quite what it used to be. He’s got the charisma to carry it off though. I wonder what Nate is playing through. Not an ashdown, some kind of 9x10 cab.

I rewound thanks to sky q.
Nfamady Kouyate is the act. No idea who the bassist is but great tone.- 1

Guy playing a tasty alpher bass on bbc2 now.

The audience want to see a happy band so never acknowledge a mistake negatively. It can ruin the atmosphere if you come across as annoyed or frustrated. Move on and deal with it later at rehearsal.

I’d get very nervous that it hasn’t been sent and you might’ve been scammed. I’d 100% expect the seller to own this until it’s in your hands. I’d do it and expect the same in return.

For that kind of money I think I’d hold out for one of the new sadowsky imports. The colours aren’t as interesting but they look to be great value and quality.

Noticed quite a few points where Paul change settings or pickups mid song which I’ve never heard before. This is a real find I can see myself coming back to many times in the future.

Is the fuzziness here inherent of the original recording or is it part of the process to isolate the bass?
Or the YouTube compression 🧐 -
Love to know your thoughts on the starlifter when you get it. Been looking at one of these myself.

I’ll give you £105 for it! I think it was undersold by quite a margin. Enjoy! It’s worth it for the pickups alone.

I nearly went for that on fb marketplace. Wish I’d jumped on it now.

New sleep token album “take me back to Eden”. It’s going to divide opinion for sure. For anyone not aware they’re an intriguing anonymous bunch who dress up on stage that are on their third album. Previous material is strong, particularly 1st album.
Becoming quite the crossover act blending detuned metal with pop sensibilities. I know this sounds hideous but hear me out.Not much in the way of prominent bass parts but really enjoying the album as a whole.
The production is absolutely massive sounding, very polished.
Highlights are the snare drum sound, all singles released so far, the riff on ascensionism around 4mins in. Lots of colour in this and it improves on repeat.

I had a similar era black p with maple neck that I regret getting rid of. I really customised it with a MM pickup, badass bridge and jazz knobs. I’d love to buy it back if it ever emerges.
Why did I ever sell something that sounded so good!- 1

There is a fine line between adding some colour, personality and a bit of individuality and it becoming a muso w@nkfest.
As others have said, you’ve got to serve your audience and the song. I’d be peed off as a punter if you played a tune with a proper classic bass line and the bassist changed it too much.
