1. I'm collecting a s/h Barefaced Compact on Saturday (cheers Mace!!) - can't wait to try it out with the Terror...
2. PM'd again. Is the Compact still for sale?
3. Is anyone using cabs by any other manufacturers that they'd recommend as a good match for the Terror 500?
4. The recent ads in the For Sale forum for Compact and Midget have tended to be in the range £800 - £900 for the pair, and the new Super Twin is £799...... .....Maybe a glut of sellers will drive the 2nd hand prices down??
5. Basstone purveyors, I'm in the process of upgrading/downsizing my rig. To date I've been using an Ashdown Mag 300 through the matching Mag 410 and 115 cabs - good enough in the pub gig environment, but I'm getting fed up of hauling the cabs (esp. the 410) in and out of the car. Having used one several times at the rehearsal rooms and fallen in lust, I've just bought an OTB 500. I'm looking to replace the cabs with something suitably lightweight that will still do justice to the phat tones that the Terror can deliver. Having read about the love all over Basschat for Barefaced I contacted Alex for his advice - he's suggested either the new Super Twin or a pair of Super Compacts. I'm seriously tempted, but the cost is a big sell for my better half! For those of you using the OTB 500, are there any cabs or cab combinations that you'd recommend? Mike
6. A couple of questions Chris: - Where are you/ from where would the rig be collectable? Would you consider selling the combo and the 115 separately?
7. Welcome Deaver, I've done pretty much the same as you (I reckon I had about 20 years away), except that Ikept my trusy Precision which is now vintage +1 on the amps front, expecially as I now have considerably more spending capacity at 40+ than i did at 20! Enjoying gigging too, I hope you will as well. Mike
8. Nah - I much prefer the P sans ashtrays. As far as I know the Jazz is stock. It was an ebay purchase, and I certainly haven't made any changes. If it helps, here's a closeup.
9. Hi guys, Newbie here, so be gentle with me! I thought I'd post some Fender porn - my trusty '78 Precision, and a lovely MIM Jazz Deluxe.
10. Hi guys, I'm Mike, back playing bass after a 20-year gap (marriage, kids, work blah blah blah). I'm playing in a covers band (vocals, guitar, bass & drums) 4 of us sharing our mid-life crises! Lots of interesting and informative topics in here, helping to bring me up to date. My next stop is the Gear Porn forum with a couple of photos of the old and the new. I'm looking forward to lots of chat.
