It is actually possible to jam online in real time.
For the past week we've been using Jamulus with a full band - incl horns. No audible latency and totally natural to play. Just last night we all jumped online for an hour - worked really well.. so great to be able to play again.
Sound quality is good - occassional glitches as you'd expect but nothing obtrusive. I was hugely sceptical prior but now a total convert.
It can't fully replace 'in person' rehearsals for this group, but can see us using it as a really useful tool. Another byproduct of the current madness that might shift some parts of our lives for the better.

@RnRDave good call with the Yamaha, will do exactly what you need it to.
Personally found Vox Amplugs not great.. bad sound and design, a lot of money for cheap plastic with the Vox badge.

Loved the Aussie 'Sorry Mate'..

Same reason I just paid £35 for some flimsy Maiden / West Ham shorts ; - Rod Smallwood and £££

I've read that she was the only Bangle not to be overdubbed by session musicians on their recordings.
That's interesting, always believed it was one of those hits that none of the band played on.
Have played it live many times at functions and it's always fun.

Is there a Nissan Moco???
Moco means 'snot' in Spanish.
Still, better than Pajero...
Brilliant. I like the colour even more now.
And the Mitsubishi Pajero - just looked that up 🍆 😂

Had a back and forth with Adrian on this - I'm assuming he won't object to me updating you here.
He completely agrees there isn't much between their Shell Pink (left) and Burgundy Mist..
But can supply basses in this colour - Nissan ZEP Moco Rouge Metallic ..
It's a (Nissan) car paint, so there's some alignment with the Fender origins(!). If you search for real life examples it looks closer to the accepted Burg Mist than the thumbnail above does.. I like it.

Hmm.. not a colour I would be expecting if someone described something as burgundy mist!
Yeah it's not quite working for me alas.

I asked Adrian for a comparison of their surf v sea foam green as it looks the same on their configurator and he duly obliged with some photos. As it turned out I wasn't fond of either so went with the valley green instead.
Maybe an email is worth a punt?
Yeah absolutely, have done just that.

Anyone out there in the Maruszczyk community ordered / owned / seen one in Burgundy Mist?
Colour is on my shortlist but know it's open to interpretation, and the configurator isn't always the best measure (combined I guess with colour variances on our monitor screens..).
Trawled their Facebook to no avail, and no pics in this thread. Would be great to see any real life examples if anyone has any pics?

Back to the original intent of the OP.
The specific sound you’re chasing will be down to more than the additional reverse P, and potentially not much to do with it at all. Are you 100% sure this mod alone will make you happy? There’s people out there spending £000’s chasing the specific ‘Arry clank that can’t agree on the recipe. You’re taking that very bass and chasing a different sound.
Absolutely do what you want with your own gear, but the result might not be what you want. Speaking from experience of many expensive mistakes.

He’s worth $300M. The richest of Pink Floyd by a mile.
He needs to get onto Squarespace and design himself a site.
If he’s feeling especially bitter (and we think he is) he can do what the rest of the developed world has to do and buy some Google Adwords. -

342 hits in 7 days and over 500 downloads. I am happy with that
Are you still pressing ahead with your own site?

Huge amount of faff but admirable they're having a go. Be interesting to see how this develops.

Never used to take a back up, then started to and maybe the 3rd gig I did, needed it. Bridge saddle screw on a 72 Jazz disintegrated mid song. Freak accident (and really odd sensation - you can’t quite compute what has happened) but was enough to spook me into always taking a spare. Never needed again thankfully.
Personally not got on with 2 bass cases. Bought the Gator one - beautifully made kit but like lugging an RPG launcher around, found life much easier with 2 x separate gig bags.

LaBella with red silk? However they seem to be flatwound strings listening to them.
Yeah that’s it - one of the flatwound LaBella 760 sets are red silk, think the lighter one

Seasick Steve originally played bass, in a band called "Shanti"
And when he was Keith Lemon in Crystal Grass.. his background is hilarious.
The only music act on the planet that pretends to be older than he is

Richard Fairbrass - Right Said Fred !
Started as bassist. Plays bass in Bowie vid - Jazzin’ for blue jean.

Your work colleagues' comments is typical of those in today's world who think that something's only worth doing if it is associated with some halfwit celebrity and can be posted all over Instagram etc to show what an exciting, hip lifestyle they lead.
What's happened to pursuing an activity just for one's enjoyment and satisfaction? (I'm assuming that you do get some enjoyment and satisfaction from playing bass).
Nah - that’s just reflective of your average older punter. Play a pub gig and see how many folk think a bass is a guitar.
The younger Instagram influencer crew wouldn’t know who Macca, Sting etc is in the first place.

I always love these threads. They follow the same path.
”Should I choose A or B?”
”Neither. I didn’t like A or B and you should choose C.”
”Actually, you shouldn’t buy A, B or C without playing them so go to the shop (even though this isn’t possible).”
”Buy a jazz bass.”
”Buy a Precision.”
”Vintage basses are over priced”.
You didn’t factor the pre amp debate

Brexit, Coronavirus, Music stands aside - in the 6 short years I’ve been here I’ve found it one of the most inclusive online groups there is. Low on cliques, and a lot of goodwill.
Did wonder if this was because bass folk - used to supporting the rest of the band - naturally are more supportive at heart? - but if you’ve spend any time on the Other site, you’ll know this isn’t always the case.

Worth saying it's not the most 'plug and play' , does take some setting up. The one main difference from other apps has been using wired ethernet connection, not wifi.
Feel free to drop me a PM if you get stuck.. I'm not the main techy one in the band but can bore you with the detail of how we got there
