Is 34" or 35" scale. Also any idea on weight. Thanks

As said above just doing it is practice, also breaking it down into small sections. If it's basslines that you are mainly concentrating on then 'Transcribe' is great. If you raise the pitch by say a 5th or even higher, it makes the bass notes much easier to hear.

It's a matter of releasing the pressure of the finger but still maintaining contact with the string. So you only apply pressure when you want a note. If it's a slide you're after, don't apply full pressure 'til you hit the note you want. I'm not sure about this talk of different strings -it's down to technique.

Bass mix in live concerts.... Disappointing?

Been to several gigs at the Band on the Wall Manchester. Bass sound always poor- no definition, even for Jimmy Haslip. Harvey Mason's Bass drum boomed all night long - which of course got in the way of the Bass guitar.
