1. It most certainly is , its taken pride of place in on my fave stand and my eyes wander far too often possibly the most handsome bass I've ever laid my eyes on.

its gone of for a bit of spa treatment to Charlie Chandler's a moderately famed Luthier who i'm fortunate lives nearby. for a bit of TLC , the action was a little low for my taste and rather than tinkering it myself i thought i'd treat it to a full setup as she deserves a nice a party frock for the gig on Friday.

Do you have a feedback thread on here.

2. I bought a lovely trace cab from this gent - He's easy to deal with , the item was exactly as described and well packaged against the woes of delivery drivers.

He's also excellent, communication wise and providing tracking details the moment he had shipped the item
so i could watch the delivery driver struggle to move the item.

Dealing with him has been a breeze .Deal with him in confidence and i would certainly use again.

3. So some of you may be familiar with this story of mine --
http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1

tldr explaination - i didn't buy anything ... and my birthday passed quietly with me treating myself to a nice Trace expansion cab off these very forums , from - sbrag

This arrived today , while i was out at work and then rehearsal so i don't get home till 11 .
I was met at the door to help unload stuff from the car by my better half and I headed into the living room ready to savage the delivery box, behind was a suspicious black hiscox hardcase .

I pick it up and its heavy .... inside is
http://basschat.co.u...-4-string-bass/
The original sale photo's will have to make do until i take some of my own

It seems my incredibly brilliant other half has essentially bought me the perfect bass - Im in love with it, sounds great , looks amazing and feels like a cross between a T-bird and P with enough tonal variance to emulate anything i want.

I'd been Gas'ing over the status but was put off by the distance it would come and the fact i'd never even seen a status before .

Thanks to Matski for selling / talking to my partner about the bass and to sbrag for selling me the extra trace cab that its going to ... RUIN

signed... one very happy/spoiled bass-chatter

5. That's one of the later magnums a III or IV ,the I and II are the less "conventional looking ones". A few years ago i considering buying one in the grey/ silverburst finish off bassworld forums that may have been the pre-incarnation of this very forums or perhaps just had a simmilar crazykiwi moderator :-P god knows.

How much was it for interest sake.

6. Now , im a bit a fan of this topic so i'll get a little more obscure .... hear these through before you discount em ...

7. I'm in the good books at the moment , for her/our anniversary new smart phone that she had wanted for ages, and on her getting older day i fixed up a Corsa for her so she no longer had to share my crappy 307 when i'm not driving to work.

Unless anyone has a telebass inside my budget maybe i hold off and bank the gifts

8. Ha ha , technically the T-bird was my 18th birthday present from my folks. I'd been borrowing an old aria copy from a neighbor after my move from saxophone. My dad hadn't intended to spend that much i believe that he saw my face after i'd tried the other lower end stuff in flying pig in Ealing
( I miss this place)

If i tell ya the bass is Korean and from the Unsung factory you could always try to figure out my age like counting holes in a tree.

9. I'm getting towards my first landmark age and as a result on Sunday the long suffering "yet most enthusiastic I've ever seen her" better half and I took a trip to guitar guitar in Epsom , "supposedly the UK's largest guitar store" -

My wonderful partner has green-lit any bass under 1500 quid , So in i went starry eyed like a child in a sweet shop intending to fall in love with something and trying all-sorts of nicer than i'd ever considered getting my claws on basses.

I was in full GAS overload .. but faced with the truth that i could actually get one of the things I've dreamed of I didn't know what to do . I tried a couple of nice US fenders including a rather odd "rascal ". A MIJ Aerodyne , a second hand bright orange Ray, A brand new sunburst ray (overspend), A lake-land jazz. The only thing I didn't want to try was a real t-bird I love mine and it doesn't deserve to be replaced.

I didn't fall love with any of them they felt excellent both well made and sounded great I enjoyed the experience and the wonderful amp i was using . I just didn't fall in love with any of them -

Am I expecting too much am i approaching this wrong ? Am i being a spoiled brat quite possibly or was i just completely overwhelmed with the experience and need to step back and look at this in the cold light of day.

Or do i just have to wait for the lightning to strike again ?

10. After picking up a trace smc 7215 last night , the guy i bought it from had me test it with a rather nice feeling Squire classic vibe jazz , i was impressed with the build quality and sound out of it.

I have a nice jazz .... and as such i'm probably not in the market for another so i'm considering this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221595153832

Has anyone had any experience with one , i must confess I've always lusted after an old school slab P or Telebass in natural so its got me there

But any sound samples / personal info would be much appreciated.

11. My obvious bias towards a West London aside ;-) there are a surprising number of sneaky conservative / or working mans clubs lurking around the chiswick /ealing area , they also come with the added bonus of a bar ... A school is probably a good idea to I know my school used to rent out the main hall to various events which had a full stage and they also usually have a whole lot of parking

12. Honestly the "standard" bolt on Epi T birds are really great value for money , especially the older Korean made rather than the slightly newer Chinese ones . I remember buying mine new from Anderton's for my 18th birthday ... i went in dead set on an explorer bass and the guy talked me into the t-bird instead , once i played it i knew why ...

I've compared my old bird to the newer pro ones ( ignoring the fact that they are active) I actually prefer the bolt on rather than the neck through for adjustment sake and I've never had sustain issues with this old plank plus it allows you to do to do this tiny mod which really helps with the neck heaviness off the thing.

I'd strongly recommend picking one up if you can , they are a lot of bass for not a lot of money :-)
