1. I have no idea what helps hahah switch it on and off is always a good start. It seems related to tge ipad as i cant log into other forums either, fine on phone, no dice on ipad ... I blame the kids.
2. Nope.... Ive cleared net history incase any cookies or that kind of stuff, clised everything, checked caps, checked passwordsand log in details..... It just spits me back out to "sign in"... It also switches between basic format and "full version" between any refresh of page ? Gremlins ?
3. Hey guys Im having trouble logging into bass chat, when i do i enter user name and password as normal but it just refreshes the screen with "sign in" intop right corner rather than my ligged in user name? Tried everything ! Im logged in here now as my iphone is always logged in, i dont want to log out here to see if tgats causing the issue for fear of not being able to get back in ? Besides, its never normally caused a problem being logged in here on my phone AND on my ipad ? Any suggestions ?
4. Love his stuff and method.... Wish the accadamy had a monthly subscription though as like a many do with gym memberships you start with the best of intentions to stick to routine but this can wax and wayne due to , well, life i guess...... Yes, i understand that its great value for money and paying for the year may be good incentive to keep the routine up.... But as i say.....life gets in the way sometimes..... Ive learrnt alot of neat kicks and tech from scott but also love the marloweDK stuff, another great teacher, not as formal and theory based as scott but a great feel player who easily inspire further groove sense ?
5. I put an old bass in the attic many years ago, after one summer/ winter it looked like a banana. I have basses/ guitars stashed everywhere around the house, you can get quite creative if trying to make them invisible to the feurer..... Under the bed, under the couch, behind the couch, ontop of wardrobe, under kids beds, ontop of kids wardrobes, in the back of wardrobes behind clothes hung up, cupboards, i could go on......... However, understand space is a premium espesh im modern houses.... You could if pushed to use the loft , create a little purpose made store/ upright box with some sheets of ply or even plaster board, insulate the sides and top really well with rockwool or kingspan or the like, remove the insulation from underneath it so that the heat from the house can conduct / migrate up into the little box you build just like it does from say a heated bedroom into an unheated cupboard nextdoor on your landing , pack it with silica gel packs....You could reduce the temp change risk massivley i guess and maintain a fairly similar temp to rest of house as the heat from house will naturally rise if you remive the insulation on top of ceiling the heat loss from landing will be enough to keep things happy. ....you could even cut a small hole inceiling and fit a grill to encourage house ambient temp into your lofty love box .? Seems excessive sure, but a fun project and some peice of mind.... Ooo i do get carried away with "man craft" Of course id only advise this for anything of a value you dont mind taking a risk with.
6. Ended up ordering the mark bass cover as I figured it would be a good fit.... Was happy with the head case bag quality so hoped for more of the same..... Came today. ! £56 is a little pricey but I want my gear kept nice so there you go. Quality is great, thick, durable, maybe shower proof I guess , padded well and lined..... Feels a bit like wet suit material (neoprene) backed with cordura (very tough fabric. Corners are all thick seemed too. I look after my gear but the last thing I want is a tasty black hairy cab covered in bits of crap out my boot.... Saying that, my boots fairly tidy .....can you tell, I'm a bit OCD (remember that when it's selling/buying time) So now, I'm sorted. Wonky
7. Gigged with my new set up last night..... During sound check i was a little dismayed as the size of the room was huge, stage riser was more forward from the back wall than id prefer and a lack of meatbags made things difficult, my fear was i was not getting enough "meaningful bottom end"... It was there but as ive described before, like a glass of lemonade in comparrison to a pint of guinness.......? Every one else said sound was great out front so i just accepted their views and went with it. Started all flat, added a little tube filter and had scoop filter around hslf way, then boosted low and low mid just a touch. Cab tweeter was set at half way. Well, criwd said it sounded great and ive seen a video since which confirms that thr front of house sound was lovely. Warm , deep, yet punchy. Happy with the sound despite pre gig new gear nerves... ( not had chance to use it with tbe band untill the gig) Input gain was low as my MM sterling output is hot, may open her up and look for output potentiometer to turn it down a touch...? All in all, great gear. Best part of all, it all fitted in the boot, carried in and set up within minutes, packed away in minutes.... Got home and unloaded gear from car into house in ONE TRIP!!!!
8. Good idea ! I have however conceeded and purchased the mark bass cover. The little mark carry case is exceptionally good quality so im hoping the cab cover is f the same design/ material..... At least the fit should be good.

10. Oops ! Will re-edit description.... Id copied and pasted it off net to save typing out..... It doesnt have binding down the neck , and for record none of these hot rods did so that must be an error on part of the text i lifted.....my fault for not checking it thoroughly, it does have perloid bloc inlay though as per the pic Because the bridge pick up is in 70's position, the honk it gives it just awsome, proper "parpy tone" .... The precision neck pick ups are full and huge sounding, together it sounds immense, youd have to hear it to really appreciate it. You would be amazed and how much tone scape there is in just dialing out small amount of volume from either pickup.... The neck is as slick as they come, i love the finish, unquestionably a million miles away from any american standard stuff, as is the neck pocket fit. The baddass style bridge really does give some super sustain too..... Apart from that TINY mark on the back it is immaculate and completley as new. Ive seen ,played, alot of fenders........as we all know ,some are hit and miss...this ine is definately a hit.. A solid example of what the fender brand should represent. You are welcome to come for a completley no pressure no obligation try of it, but bring cash because im quite sure if you do you will not leave with out it Case is the leather vintage one and all the paperwork, hang tags, vintage strap, vinatge lead is in there.... Im already at the point that i know i would not buy a better fender without adding about over a £1000 to what I get from the sale of this bass but rightly or wrongly, thats where im headed. (Clearly im talking myself out of this arent i ....................)
11. Late Christmas present to yourself ? Price reduced £1200 Can't tell you just how sweeeeeeet this bass is....
12. Just for the record, I still refer to tv programmes as series, not seasons. I think I'm ok ? Right ?
13. Hahahhahah try and get down with the kids and just get exposed as an old Duffa.... Ahh well, I'm in good company
14. Yeah, will take a look, never seen one in the .....plastic ? (Flesh) always thought they looked a bit naff from the pics online but read up,a bit and clearly they are far more than the bit of vinyl they look at first glance on the net..... (My bad) ((what ever that means ))
15. I'm gonna want a cover for the 102p trap cab...... Are the mark bass ones good ? As good as the amp head carry case cos that is well made ? Any suggestions for alternative ? Anyone flight cased it ?
16. First impressions...... Delivery from promenade spot on , within 24 hour for free. Was at work waiting for me when I got in today. Also, Gary threw in a pack of strings and a speak on lead too which was very kind given the low price. On picking up the cab box I did at first think the weight was a tad moor than I expected, but new the thick heavy duty cardboard and packaging would likely weigh a bit ,and the lack of handle in the box made it tricky...... But out of the box, no problem ! Great Leighton weight and Carey's well balanced in one hand with the top loaded heavy duty metal handle (not keen on the rubber strap types ). Build quality and finish was great and the look is sleek. The little mark..... Every one in the office marvelled at how small and light my new 500w amp head was.... Again, the look and build quality looks great. The head gig bag.... Sold at cost price of £40..... Fantastic ! Quality is just what I would like for carrying a delicate amp around , very very rugged and robust, well worth every penny. Got it home for a quick set up and play ....(quick) very load, very tight sound.... Flat eq is great and not really any sense in doing much other than dialling in the tube tone or scoop filter to adjust sound.... Both of which very different in effect, both great too. Somewhere in between the two is just great........ Waiting for kids to go to bed then I can have a closer look. First impressions, great choice. I can see why this set up will cut through anything.
17.
Notice you have them on the long 'side', I used a hairdryer to gently remove the badge, spin it 90 degrees so the cab sits on its narrow side with the badge now horizontal
Oooo ooo picture please did it stick back on with original glue or did you have to use new glue ? Curious if you stuck it on top middle or bottom ? Maybe mark bass should put the badge in the box loose for new owner to choose, peel and stick placement ?
18. Good answer hahaha The appeal of the little mark 3 is its simplicity..... For me, less to fiddle with. I've gone with the 8ohm cab as it leaves the option but I just don't want to or don't think I'll need to go down a 2nd cab route..... I have pondered, that in mind, should I have just gone 4 ohm and unleashed the 500w from the head but general consensus from what I've read is its a marginal difference...... Not looking on the pessimistic side, but if I ever wanted to sell the cab or the whole rig, other people / buyers will likely prefer the 8ohm cab to either go with their own existing or if they buy the rig, allow them to expand..... so there is an advantage and some foresight there too....... I'm sure I would love a 2nd cab too but the band would never need it, I would never carry it and I've nowhere to keep it. Buff said on that's one
19. Tomorrow I should take delivery of my new Mark Bass little mark 3 head and 102p traveler 2x10 cabinet. The anticipation is killing me !!! Hahahaha I will give some feedback tomorrow on first impressions as a new markbass user...but I wanted to start this post in advance to talk about where I made the purchase. my initial intention was to buy the cmd121p combo as discussed in other posts here, and although I'm advised the 121p has a great sound and output, my concern was that I would end up wanting to add a 2nd 121ny cab.... I wanted strictly to get sorted with a lighter, one unit solution and the thought of two cabs no matter how small just didn't appeal. I looked at the 151p, 121h and even the Alain Caron as a solution, but size and weight managed to creep up with these options. After checking in with a local , the great British bass lounge, unfortunately stock was an issue anyway with the 121p with end of January advised as a lead time Drew was great and had help patiently with my deliberations. Great guy...... A bit of looking around showed this stick issue as a bit of an issue with Markbass not getting dealership stock levels replenished for Xmas ??? Something I'll bet will cost them in some cases.... I eventually came upon a place I've not used before in morcombe called promenade music. The prices listed where by quite a bit the cheapest in the net, bettered further by promis of free delivery. After a chat on the phone with Gary I had some better direction from a guy who is not only a working bass player , but someone who clearly has plenty of experience. We discussed my requirements and concerns at length, and after a short time agreed that the 121p would indeed likely leave me yearning for an ext cab. The conclusion on the 151p, 121h and Alain Caron was size and weight was no good for me due to mobility issues and use of crutches a lot of the time (arthritis A.S). Gary suggested the 102p and little mark 3 head, advised from 1st hand experience in regard to can ohmage choice.....two speakers moving more air, atenuator in the piezo speaker, still fairly small and one unit.... I was convinced and what's more reassured with the solid statement that if it is not suitable after playing for a few days, whether it be size, weight, sound , they would collect it and we could move on or refund. I could not be happier with that arrangement. To ice the cake, Gary threw in the little mark gig bag at trade price and a Speakon lead for free. Top guy, top customer service. Prices : Little mark head £389 102p cabinet. £339 Gig bag. £40 Speakon lead. £0 Delivery. £0 i never thought I'd go down the mark bass route, too much yellow, not keen on woolybacked amp finishes too....... But after hearing one, that just didn't matter. Can't wait to hear it.......
20. Well, I've read all the comments (appreciated) and all the reviews etc..... After a long hard head scratching session I've come up with what I think is a good compromise on size, weight , air pushing capability and future potential to add another cab ( which I won't, but option is nice to have).... I've gone the opposite way... Separate cab / head.... I've gone for the little mark 3 head and the 102 traveller (2x10 lightweight cab). I've gone for the 8ohm cab as all though the 4ohm will give me the full whack out of the head, I'm told repeatedly that watts don't equate to volume and a few reports say the sound difference is minimal, so I figured to best option is to leave myself open to being able to use other cabs if ever I needed to get damn loud..... I'm assured this set up performs well but have been reassured further that if I'm not happy they will take it back...... "They" being promenade music. ..... Spoke with Gary who certainly knows his stuff as a working bass player and also gave me all the time / advice I needed to get to my final decision... Free delivery, best internet/ shop prices and a "deal" done too on free speak on lead and the markbass head bag at trade price.... Great customer service.... Expecting delivery Thursday , will report back on first impressions...
