Just two things to say here - first, these basses are absolutely amazing instruments with extraordinary playability (and this is one of the most beautiful examples I've seen), and second, Pestie is without doubt one of BC's finest and most trustworthy sellers. This is a really lovely bass at an astounding price in my opinion. I had a Limelight J and it was sublime (the OW 'reference' heavy relic). The necks are J width nut but slightly (and it really is slight) thicker front to back. They don't feel overly 'substantial' but are solid, slick and comfortable - 'fast' if that actually means anything? Pickups are excellent too and the overall feel and aesthetic is fantastic - very usable basses. This example is an absolute steal (and it's just 20 minutes over the Pennines from me!) Somebody is going to get a bargain.

90s TE gear is dirt cheap now. However, every time I see somebody gigging with one, it sounds absolutely amazing (to my ears, better than pretty much all of the contemporary rigs). I gigged TE for around 10 years - rock solid and compliments at almost every gig. Wish I could carry this

I used to own this - by far the nicest Overwater I've ever seen - it's truly beautiful and plays wonderfully well. It was just a bit too big for me. Fantastic seller too!

Lovely - there's a nice review in Premier Guitar (with finger and pick sound samples) for those with an interest. Very cool bass

What an absolutely beautiful bass - I love the way the different planes are combined into the whole. What a salutary tale too. I suspect that I've been through similar emotions but was never sufficiently courageous or single-minded to knock it on the head. Good luck with the sale - a unique bass, Even greater luck with whatever you decide to do next

One of the finest valve pres - I've tried a lot and had a 680 for a while. I'd still have it had I not discovered - following much expensive experimentation - that I prefer SS. The 680 is bullet-proof - brilliant and very quiet for both stage and studio

I only know of one other in such good condition - these are lovely basses and this is a beautiful example. 11 lbs plus is about right for these - unfortunately, much too heavy for me (all that solid brass really contributes to the weight)

I'll attest to the quality and feel of the necks on these - I had a US JO and the neck was superb - silky, fast and incredible feel all the way up (superb carving and attention to ergonomics)

I had a chestnut topped MG5 - it was a thing of extraordinary beauty but the board was simply too wide for me. I keep looking and hoping that this has been sold...I'm starting to weaken...

If all original, the circuit will be Fender's first proprietary active 2-band that was designed for this model. It's a powerful, if slightly hissy, unit and has some very usable tones - it can be by-passed for standard passive operation

That looks to be in gorgeous condition! What's the weight - I've owned one and played loads - most were (seriously) unbearably heavy?

Stunning bass - incredible action, playability and versatility. Pro set-up just before Christmas with D'Addario 40-100 nickel rounds (and new battery!). I think that Promenade Music have an AER Amp One in stock at £899 - maybe worth calling? I've found the Amp One to be fairly unique in terms of functionality and tone - it's almost unbelievable, especially when pushed. I can't re ally comment on customer service, though I've heard both very good and very poor for AER
