  1. Hi,

    TRADE ONLY(!)

Mint(as new) neck. Exceptional Chinese work :hi:. Better than any bass I have had in the past few years.... including USA and Mexican Fenders (yes IMO)

Anyway... Interested in STRAIGHT swap 1:1 Maple neck from Squier Matt Freeman Bass. Must be with genuine tuners (yes I like the so called bad ones) and good/mint condition.

Or Fender Dee Dee Ramone Precision Bass Neck - exactly my specs. Small frets, maple fret board.

    41mm synthetic bone nut

Small Vintage Frets (As new no fret wear as only 4 months old plus flatwound strings)

    Thanks

    Tomas

Not sure re the frets or heel size, but having had a Matt Freeman Sig, the Vintage Tony Butler is also based on a 70s Precision, so maybe Vintage could be worth checking out?

Great. Need to check that. Best neck ever played was matt freeman's squier. Fell in love with tiny frets...

    Later on:

    Frets: 20

All what You can find online... looks like only Matt`s bass will fit the purpose...

  6. Hi Everybody,

Recently got lovely Road Worn Precision 50s - Yes fake road worn but this sound and the neck! (love it`s sound and the neck size and fret-board radius)

After few days of playing  I have found that sanding down the neck finish or using bee`s wax or any other known fix DOES NOT WORK. It`s simple waste of time. Gloss, no gloss neck becomes sticky after few minutes of playing. Not a big deal if You play roots and/or fifths  in key of C I-IV-V but playing bit more from 1st to 21st fret things get STICKY.

Spent quite a lot of time on google and found that the best solution is REMOVE the nitro finish and use OIL. I have Cort Fretless finished in Oil and it NEVER goes sticky plus looks brilliant.

So, sanded down using 120 then 320 grit good quality sanding paper and today put second layer of Danish Oil. I`ll put another one or two every 24h but at this stage neck has SILKY feel already.

Whatever You say Poly finish is great as after sanding it down with 800-1200 grid it`s silky in feel but as mentioned it does not work with Nitro - well, it did not on my neck...

I have used Danish Oil as it has really good properties according to this Guy:

More info soon after I finish my job..

    Cheers

    Tomas

The ‘Monel ‘flatwound bass string that’s been awarded many accolades since its inception.

The RS77 Jazz Bass set has found favour with so many of the worlds top leading artists including the likes of Oasis, Steve Harris, Roger Waters and Herbie Flowers.

The build spec remains a close kept secret but the Monel 400 tape used in the strings making brings out the true character of these strings over the competition who are happy to use the much less costly flattened stainless steel.

These strings are still manufactured the ‘old fashioned way’ by hand on machines that James How built at the end of the 1960’s.

  8.

ENR71's combine the playability of common 45-100 gauged sets with the benefits of an exclusive "Half Round" manufacturing process.

Cut to size of 34 inches Cort Bass / GMR / Ibanez Bass   ect. - THEY WONT FIT FENDER JAZZ OR PRECISION BASS

They have been used on a fretted bass for about few weeks.

Paint washed away from end balls as they have been soaked in alcohol for 24h to refresh them - my way of not buying strings every month... Yes - it works great.
