  1. hi BC I'm waiting to try a set of these on a Breedlove B350/CB4 Passport Plus bass guitar.Ive been using DDXL Chrome flats,so am I right to think that this set will be a bit brighter and more voluminous than the flats, and that they are like 50/50 of both worlds? What would be your reason be to fit these, and what do you like about them physically and also tonality wise ? `
  2. HI I've a 2 week old set Spirocore MEDIUM ORCHESTRA strings that are a bit too tensioned for my DB,so i've gone for the 'Weich' set instead,so I offer these for £90.00,maybe a fair price and bargain for you.literally been on and off, great tone and condition. Feel free to make me a reasonable offer,ok update: will sell for £75.00 a proper good bargain,I'd say!?
  3. Iwould think so;I would have bought one of these had I not got my 'Gear4Music' one, which I prefered [http://goo.gl/ZUrIqp ] [http://goo.gl/Y5lNXd] in this very chat! go for it and enjoy!
  4. anyone know of flats for this bass? im not having much luck finding a set not over .125 or if it is,needs to be tapered. I like the sound of TI,s but the 6 pack is just over the .135 of the shipped Warwicks.Red Label,I think but they are imo, awful and are marking up the fingerboard to a concerning degree. any ideas? Thanks
  5. Yes,I put the CHROMES on my Breedlove acoustic last year, still playing well and no probs at the bridge and they soon loose that brightness, leaving a mellow sound.
  6. good evening! I have just been looking on eb at a DB adjustable bridge that is apparently 19 cm when fully wound down. The thing is,my 'fixed' bridge is only 17 cm and I want to get one that can do 15.5 / 16.cm,and 19 cm seems absurdly high.Does the seller meen it is 19 cm fully extended??.Where is a good place to buy one from in your opinion ? Thanks BC's
  7. *sorry,yes mine is 3/4 size

  9. where to start?? I feel well outta my depth with the Alien 6 fretless....Huge potential,in the right hands and some of the promoters make things look so damn smooth and easy! This is a tough instrument to get on with imho,or am I just not up to it,I dont know.... seems a big big price for what it is...Maybe the stock stings need changing [not sure what they are?] maybe some XLChromes flats Are these things overtuned or something? B EADG C in standard [I presume] tuning? strings seem way too tensioned, and lifeless..Help!! if this is what Warwick consider to be correct for 'projection',it just doesnt feel right..Should I downtune??

hello there everyone, cant figure out why its taken me so long to join this forum?! better late than never i think! well,im a nervous Birrmingham City FC follower who likes anything from the rawest Black Metal,Gabber,to Beethoven quartets and Bartok's to Koussevitzky DB concerto's,Casals Bach renditions, and a huge fan of noizy banging computer music! I try to play electric bass, nothing special,a Squire JB with Behringer Bass Workstation and BassVamp Pro cab simulation, and like to play Hawkwind,Lemmy Blues kind of stuff, without actually trying to sound like any of them,if you know what I meen! I also have a Breedlove PPlus ABG,with D'ads XL Chromes Flat wounds, virtually brand new,its a lovely guitar, but somehow just not 'me' My quest is really the world of fretless, with the UBass sound and 6 strings.Think Warwick Alien 6. Also i NEED to try owning a DB,I am loving those awesome instruments, for me a lot of the Drum n Bass I was listening to.the Bukem liquid sound with the prominent DB tracks, but Ive always seemed to have wanted one to use and pass on,you know. Owners must feel like an old loyal friend is waiting for them in the corner of the living room everytime they have to do the daily graft,I know I would. So,whats to be done?keep dreaming about them or bring them into my reality? Time is short,so I really need to take it seriously.who knows,I have always felt that in another life I actually was a DB performer, and that this was a full time occupation and that I had a really solid rep,to boot!!?!hh! ,I was born in 65,am single after separation, spent many years homeless and drink/drug probs, and am now settled,t total and clean for about 15 years now,and currently working ptime due to health issues, you know. Just me my little dog,an Alexandrine Parakeet and a Cockatiel All I really have is my guitars and my sounds, and Im also interested in communication/sound tech, and am studying for a Fiber Optics Tech certificate with the FOA online courses. I come here to learn and take advice from all in this Forum. I suspect most of us are probably in TB Forum also, and so Im looking forward to a development in my musical journey, maybe a complete change of direction and new influences to be found. Thanks for reading, and I hope to contribute some thoughts and ideas with you all very soon. Nice 1! [attachment=161774:Ame65.jpg]
