That's one awesome rig to go with a very tasty bass!

Welcome aboard the Yammy club! Did you buy new or manage to pick one up used?

But with reactions like yours to the BB range, I guess I shouldn't be too surprised that we've just snuck passed 3,000 posts on this thread (and can't be more than 2,500 of those down to me and Andy T 😂).

I think I'm correct in saying that's the first ever bass focussed thread to pass that particular milestone in BC's history. Here's a glass raised to Yammys :drinks:

Sorry for the delay, Al! It was bought brand new from Bassdirect for what I thought was a very reasonable price, especially when I had the bass in my hands the next day and realised the quality! You're right though, I can't imagine ever letting this go, I imagine It'll replace my Sandberg and spector as #1.

Appreciate the kind words about my rig as well, it's taken a few new amp days to come back to my first gigging head (literally the same amp I sold, bought back years later)... oops!

  2. Regrettably selling my Tonehammer 500

Amp is 1 year old and in as new condition, as is the carry case, bought new from Andertons September 2018

Honestly one of the best sounding class D heads I've ever heard with a great warm faux tube tone with loads of mids detail, it's one of the heftiest class D amps you'll find and is literally made of air. Sounds unreal when paired with a pair of Aguilar 112's, but always sounded great through my barefaced 212 too. Amp is 500 watts into 4 ohms and very honestly rated, I've never wanted for more volume, and never had gain and volume past 12 o clock without front of house support in some fairly big rooms

    Price includes insured shipping

    Better pictures to follow...

  3. I was literally just going to make a post doubting my barefaced, and this was near top of amps & cabs; Spooky! Glad you're enjoying your cab, man!

I've always sworn my Barefaced big twin 2 was the best cab I'd ever used (albeit after getting a suspected manufacturing fault repaired after buying pre owned and the fault not becoming noticable until trying to use it with a tonehammer amp, but that's another long winded story). I've used 3 different heads through it, and currently using a TH500, I found the tone a bit lacking in areas despite what I'd read, a bit bland and smooth...

Played through a pals Aguilar rig at a wedding this week using a TH500 and a pair of GS112 cabs, and the difference was staggering! The mid detail and growl was phenomenal, it had serious clout compared to my rig, and it's the exact same head! Now wondering if I've backed the wrong horse 🤔

  4. DELANO PJ pick up set for sale. Taken from a Sandberg California II VT4 as I've decided to go a different route tonally.

Great sounding pick ups with a big modern tone. Can't find any for sale on the second hand market, or for sale as a pair new but the P pick up seems to go for £89 new on it's own... looking for £80 ono for the set plus postage

Delano logos have rubbed away (except for the L's... Delano must make some pretty heavy duty L's)

  5. ** According to a friend in the know (Wilf of Ghost pick ups who removed it) this is in fact a Glock pre-amp! **

Sandberg Preamp taken from my VT4 as I wanted it to be passive only.

Transparent sounding preamp to let the pick ups shine, has active/passive push pull vol/Balance/Treble boost/Cut and Bass boost/cut.

Will include the battery box from my Sandberg if needed.

    £50 ONO plus shipping

  6. Selling my Source audio bass OFD as no room on my board for it... has a ton of great sounding bass distortion models in there, modelled on some great pedals voiced for bass. All programmable with 3 band EQ, gate and normal and Low pass filtered clean blends. Two separate foot switches for seamless switching between 2 patches.

Also works with source audio hot hand and neuro hub.

In used but good condition, velcro on bottom and no box but does come with original PSU

priced to sell as £120-£150 new. Can drop off locally, or happy to post at buyers cost

  7. **£700 **

Absolutely torn doing this as completely in love with this bass, but as much as this bass is the sound in my head, I've had to accept that it's not the right sound for my band 😭

Purchased from Rhysyjob last year in brand new condition (original sales post below). Bass is immaculate and comes with official Spector fitted hardcase (I purchased separately new from thomann for circa £150). Bass is just over 1 year old, has been gigged but never used in anger.

Would prefer local collection or drop off but will ship at buyers cost. Looking for £850 ono including hard case.

I’ve not long ago bought a custom and I too get a very comfortable feeling when I pick it up and play, and  I like the sound of mine,   but if I didn’t I’d have no problem whatsoever doing what you’re doing,     for me it’s all about being happy with my instrument, not making a profit on it 🙂

As mentioned by a few folks already, certainly no intention of making a profit on gear, dont think ive ever let anything go for more than 3/4 of new price before.  It's more a case of at this price point there shouldn't be a need to swap parts out (I also had to swap a tuner as it was loose from new, pmt sorted this for me though, I just had to fit it). These pick ups seem to work for a lot of people, but they seem very "marmite" to be the standard stock pick ups. Things never sound the same in the shop as they do in the mix 🤷‍♂️

Congrats - sure you'll love it! But your need to replace the Delano pups and Glock pre used as stock by Berg summarises ALL my Berg hang-ups in one short sentence!

I certainly fall into the category of "I've paid £1700 for a bass, I shouldn't have to spend more replacing pick ups" it's taken me years to come to this decision after almost selling it several times...

Thing is, it's so light, plays like a dream, and every time I look at it I get all warm and fuzzy 😍

  10. My main bass is a VT4, plays like a dream, super light, but I have a love hate relationship with the tone... I HATE the preamp (glock?), the pick ups (delano) fare better in passive, but that being said I'm dying to swap them out for something a bit more traditional...

I quite like the shape of if, but to me their new jazz shape just looks awful!
