1. Not that I've used one or trying to suggest anything, but my opinion is with things like this is that these pedals are trying make up for lack of good equipment. Though it looks from your signature you have some good stuff there. Having said that, I guess that if you don't have access to either the equipment or the funds for aquiring such equipment, then I guess they are ideal. Would be good placed after some heavy compression I guess too?? Whether or not the pedals are any good or will work for you, as I say, I cannnot inform you of. Just thought Id throw in me 2p.. Andy

Thanks for the help guys, though Im not persuing my original action now. Basically Id seen an old Trace Elliot 1524 (2 x 15 4 ohm rating) which is pretty much what I really want and although the sale hadnt met the reserve and I wasnt the highest bidder the guy was prepared to offer it to me. I just wanted a light weight (compared to my 4 x 10 at least) option for the high end part of my tone whcih would also been closer to my ears fom stacking, I just needed to confirm I could do it despite the odd impedance the two cabs would create. I didnt know of anyone making 4 ohm 2 x 10s. Just found out the cost of some repair work to my car so today and I doubt Ill be buying anything in the near future Pains me to miss up a great oppurtunity. Guess Ill just have to wait for some money, and Bill Fitzmaurice to release plans for the O15 Tallboy and have myself a self build Andy
  3. Oh, and by the way, ya getting two foot controllers (still boxed with associated leads) and two covers for this as well. And I still have the original box it all came in too... Andy
  4.
F**k me, if I come on here drunk on Friday I'm buggered, I'll have just been paid, and well, you know....
Well, not to sound desperate or that Im trying to force you into a position where you feel you should act now, but I do have some friends and work colleagues who are asking withing they're social circles. Nothing gauranteed in the slightest, but I thought I should mention now. I still stand by carriage being covered by the recipient (which I can look into upon request), or something toward petrol money within a certain distance. Thanks Andy

Cheers guy. Thought it would work but I hadn't even considered the fact the 4 ohm cab would get more volume. Least I know in theory it works. Anyone know of any 4 ohm 2 x 10's? Andy

    Ohm ratings

Hi, I just wanted to check something for my own benefit. I understand ohmage in terms of matching cabs to heads etc (ie 2 x 8 ohms = 4, 2 x 4 ohms = 2 etc), but I wanted to make sure that running an 8 ohm cab with a 4 ohm cab won't be a problem (so long as the minimum rating is 2 ohms from the head, which mine is). The way I see it is that would equal someting between 4 and 2 ohms, without knowing any specific equations for this sort of thing. I stand ready with flame retardant material and gun above my foot (to shoot it with).... Andy
  7. Ok, Im going to drop the price and see if anyone becomes more tempted. Otherwise it'll go as a trade-in against the head Im having. Hows £375 sound? I just want the fella to go to a good home.. Andy
  8.
Yeah, my current (pre Gibson design, Gibson era build) 12-band head was £250. But a new one would be lots more. As would a new 7-band. Like I said, don't tempt me, I'm trying to save for a much much bigger box. It has a roof and windows and doors and things.
I could draw some windows and a door on it for you, and put a cardboard roof on it for ya? Ok, maybe not. Worth a try though. Andy
  9.
And yes, £400 for this is a good price. If it was a 12-band I'd have snapped it up!
And the chances of getting a 12 band for £400? Maybe pre Peavey ones. Come on, you know it makes sense! Andy
  10. Oh, and thanks for the free bump/support Overwater. Andy
  11.
..do I need more..? haha..!!
You know you do Overwater! You know you do!! Andy
  12. Bump again... Not much interest in Trace Elliot as thought these days
  13. From the little that I understand about electronics but learning from Basschat, I would say yes. If what you're powering needs 10ma then it will only draw that from the Boss PSU, which is 200ma (more than enough), and is DC too I believe. Andy
  14. Is it a violin bow? Or a 'make-some-Sunn O)))-esque-noises' pedal? Andy

  16. No problem Eddy. PM me if and when you sell your gear and your interested. May still be available at this rate. Andy
  17. I have a TE AH500-7 in the for sale section, there's a link in my signature. Only looking for cash though. Andy

    Pedal Board?!
Or the Gator one... that's a nice case. Not sure that it's big enough tho. For flexibility you might be better going for a seperate board and PSU.
I can vouch for Gator cases. Not so much on which size you'd need but I just got me one and its sturdy as anything. And it comes with a guitar stand in the lid too. Very useful for me as Im always having to lean my bass on something at the end of a set so as I can pack up my kit (although thats easier now all I have to do is put a lid over my FX!) but being as it takes 3 guitars, my guitarists have somewhere to put their guitars now too! Distortions

Oh by the way, if you do check out the DHA website, have a look at the VT2 dual overdrives. They have two channels of pure valvey goodness and as the second channel is driven by the 1st, you get some very high gain sounds indeed, and both channels keep the bottom in you sound too. Plus you get the fun of trying out different valves (as you may have done with your amp) and it keeps you signal chain valve too, which would be awesome given your set up... Andy

    Distortions

Hey there Finbar, not sure about what distortions you would want. For the most part its a case of trying stuff out and seeing what works for you and your set up, but if you find you have problems keeping the low-end in your signal, Id suggest getting a FX loop pedal such as one of these or one of these. Doesnt have to be either, they're just examples but they both a blend feature allowing you to choose how much of the effect, in your case distortion, is in the signal relative to your clean sound, or vice versa. The passive dual blender by DHA is doing the rounds at the moment as a trial kinda thing so if you scout the effects threads you may be able to find the posts and see if you can get to try it out. Thats my suggestion. Others might something more specific... ANdy
  21.
Don't. Tempt. Me.
What can I do to make it more attractive to ya Merton? Andy
  22. I have my trusty Trace Eliot head for sale if any one's interested. Its the 7 band 500w version of the new(ish) range, and Ive got all the accessories for it, including two of the foot pedals as well, so you'll have a spare (was recieved from Trace Elliot after they took the head back to sort out the peeling tolex issue, and instead they just replaced the head with a brand new, boxed one ). Here's the spec on it, where you can download the manual for it for more info, though I still have that, along with the box too if you want that too. Im sure if you give Trace Elliot a ring you could even get the 5 year warranty (I guess it'll be 4 soon) changed over to you'r name). It's in top condition as Ive done my best to look after it by keeping it in the cover when it's not being used and it's not been overworked volume-wise. Id peferably be looking for £400 for it. Due to the weight I doubt Ill post it, unless someone desperately wants me to, and maybe we can meet half way on that. Ill look at delivery within a 20 mile radius to Portsmouth as well. Thanks Andy
  23. Think Ill be opting out, like Finn. Just got a new head with a blend feature on the FX loop, if I feel like using it, and is footswitchable too, though I dont to be honest think I need that either. One less person to worry about now Waldo! Andy

    Fx Power Supplies
I get the feeling that there will be a 12V adaptor for the diago PSU soon... That would power your DHA Thanks, Joe.
Hi Joe, do you know if they'll cover anything for 12v AC? I would really like one of these things, and I emailed Diago a couple of days ago to ask if they could advise what I could buy to use in conjunction with the Diago PSU and my Yamaha Magicstomp (yes, yes, I actually use one!), but Ive not had a reply as of yet. I know its only a couple of days but having read this thread I thought Id ask. Id kinda not bothered thinking about my DHA dual bass but if there is one coming out that would cover this as well, then that would keep me sorted. I only have four pedals and I know the Diago would cover the other two. Thanks Andy
