  1. I've worked for agents that purposefully don't put hot girls up front as it intimidates and upstages brides!!! Also worked with guys that have green eyed wives who would get funny about a hot 20 something in the band. Me.... No.1 everytime. If she sings well. Has a great stage presence then she's in. The 20 something can go and find a pub band to learn her craft. Functions and weddings pay better cos you're supposed to be polished and professional....
  2. There must be some love for this bass!!! Open to offers. What's the worst that can happen...... I can only say no and it might surprise you.... I've got my eye on its replacement....

  4. There must be some love for this little bass. Fits into guitar cases. Good for those that use public transport. Light and small.
  5. If they were fitted with a hipshot bridge at source.... Then yes. I haven't fitted one... As for trades.... Make your offer. I'm not playing 4 strings these days though.....
  6. Buuuuuump! Still avail. Grab something just a little different.
  7. Bumpin jack flash! Yeah I know.... It's hard to believe this is still avail. Such a nice bass needs playing and it's just sitting in the corner unloved.
  8. Can't really compare as the glock was already fitted when I bought the bass but I was blown away by how much punch was at the front without being harsh and aggressive.
  9. Prob about £30 I guess. Where are you? I'm Cardiff but travel all over.
  10. Monday bump and special price £500
  11. Headless bass, nice low action. Fitted with an Aguilar preamp. Real woody thump to the sound. Bass in cardiff.
  12. Caramel coloured, 5 string fitted with a glockanlang preamp. Nice punchy sound. Low action Two little dinks on the lower horn but apart from that in top condition.
  13. We have a well known venue that will not pay more than £200 because 'youre just a covers band!' Bearing in mind we'll fill the place. Yet they booked one of the guys from the scorpions a few years back paid him many hundreds, charged £13 for tickets and sold 9! Incidentally he spent most of his set playing Hendrix numbers which in my book constitutes a covers band set?!? 2x45 with us no less than £280. There are a lot of venues that will pay £300. Parties are up to you what you charge but be consistent. Weddings are no less than a grand. We used to think we weren't greedy and were happy with £150 each making our fee £600 and regularly didn't get the gig. We now quote between £1200-1500 aiming to settle above the £1000 mark and get more work. It's the old if you don't charge much you can't be very good. We have bands on our circuit who are playing the 250-300 venues and are 10 piece. I admire those guys to an extent because they really do it for the love.
  14. Always avoided lady is a tramp in the jazz set and young hearts and I will survive always seemed weird to me....
  15. Got heckled last night.... Not unusual, we often state we'll take requests. The request last night was the normal moronic play something good and when the guitarist asked him to define good the guy named some obscure killers track and proceeded to finish the sentence with you cnuts. Now that is a first. I've not been called that on stage before. We obliged the gent by launching into a 20min set of disco tracks.
