  1. True story - I occasionally dep with a local functions band i used to play with for several years. The mainstay drummer is a lovely chap and excellent well known drummer in these Devon areas.  He noticed me gigging a Squier CV jazz at a dep gig earlier this year.  He asked something along the lines of 'what happened to that beautiful 70's P bass? ' (which incidentally was actually a Limelight P that i used a lot in the functions band). I  told him i eventually sold it to which he replied with a cheeky grin 'i can tell times are hard gigging a Squier'.

Now of course I gave him the usual spiel of how great CV's were and Squier being a lot better these days....but nonetheless i felt briefly judged for not having  name on the headstock...i was amused though.

  2. Now on FB marketplace - Collection is very much preferred from Plymouth UK but happy to look at couriers at cost to the buyer. I will be in Birmingham 24-27th Dec so traveling M5 from Devon 24th and Birmingham to Bournemouth M40, A34 around the 27th if of any help.

    4x10 now gone

  3. Pretty confident these basses need little introduction. I bought this beauty before the Thomann deals that witnessed a Basschat frenzy in buying these up...i think simply because they're very excellent basses....in my view probably the best basses Squier have released to date!

I paid a bit more than the Thomann prices from Peach guitars early in July this year, quite a bit more in fact as i had the bass plekked also, making this bass very much perfect.

Selling as i have another P incoming with a preferred Jazz width neck and its a bit of a Xmas present upgrade from the Mrs :D

This bass is in excellent condition and looks stunning - couldn't find a mark on it, plays amazingly smooth, sounds fantastic (Tone is very effective across the spectrum), and weights only 8.1lbs making it easy on the back. I am sure the buyer will be very contented.

£250 + postage , happy to courier at cost around £20 ish, £40  ish if wanting insure (wifey is legendary at her packing!).

  4. Forgot to mention, on the LMT head only the top input works. About 2 months ago I had an oddity of a cheap jack tip breaking off and upon getting it out the input jack gave up the goose! Thankfully they have two inputs so apart from input one it functions fine. I bought it new about 18 months ago, barely used to as I mostly gig my heavy Edens.

  5. Funny enough I’ve just made one of my favourite Stingray types over the last week. I bought an original US Pickup & a 3 band Pre on here recently for I think £60 ish…bargain! I actually bought this before I had a bass to put it on…GAS in action right there!!!
Then I hunted down a mint green Ray4 with a maple board on Reverb, something I had been thinking about for a while. Sadly after purchase it sustained a knock in transit (thanks UPS) so we agreed a £50 refund…I was happy with that as I planning to mod it anyhow with the new US electrics. Skip forward to this weekend and I now have a  superb Stingray esq on a budget, all in less than £280! I even had a flat top pick up cover for those pesky razor shop pickup poles on the USA pickups. I’ve owned several ‘real’ rays over the years and this sounds, and plays just as good - no weak G either 😂. I’d like to upgrade the bridge one day but for now I’m in no rush. Very happy on a budget, and no desire to change the decals…quite proud of my Ray4.

If Graham is going to Holt, then he’ll probably be going M25, then either M11 or A1M and A505.
Then A134 after Thetford on way to Swaffham, Fakenham to Holt.
You’ll be driving through my village (Mundford) on A134

Hi, I'm travelling to Holt in Norfolk the week before Christmas and will be travelling between there and Bournemouth if that helps anybody. Just delivery, you do the deal.

    Graham

That could help me, could always do a winter trek from Devon to Bournemouth way.

Well another update, the BB734 is incredible.

Pretty much just using it in passive mode currently as active seems like a waste of battery when I’m using it flat anyways. It’s nice to have an active preamp that sounds identical when flat to when bypassed too.

Action isn’t quite as low as I’d like it but still pretty good, better than my Schecter P4. Fret work is great and I actually don’t mind the fretboard radius despise all my other basses being very flat in comparison.

While the painted neck feels great I’m still not onboard with the look but gonna give it some time before I make a rash decision.

Very happy overall, just wish I’d got one sooner and saved myself some time and money!

This is not helping my G.A.S.

That is a lot of trouser flapping for the money.
    Tempted myself.

I do try to make my offers appealing! I guess quite a good deal on the face of it with the excellent MB LMT amp added …I’ll still have way to much MB gear even if this lot goes 😊

Nice to see my good old 77. Tempted to get it back but my bank account says no, I am afraid 😞

Thanks, it’s a real tough choice as I love the sound of the Spector and the playability of the Zon. Whilst one has to go (according to Mrs Raslee) I’m not too bothered if both stick around…for a long time 😁
