Yes, a 38mm nut is possible...(I thought the stingray was already around 40mm?)  The construction process involves carving a wooden form first and that can be adjusted in CAD/CAM software before milling begins.  But for batch every order slot has to have the same specification because the batch is based per mold and the main way I keep the price down is using a MoQ.  Otherwise it's a custom order with a custom mold.

That would be great. I was hoping for something similar to the MM Slo neck which is similar to the jazz width. I think the standard USA Rays were just over 41mm from memory.

What is the next steps? Do you need deposits or are you scoping the demand/cost?

Its fantastic you're doing this for the community, big credit to you.

  2. Selling my trusty ‘reggae’ bass which has served me well. Being headless Its a true lightweight 5 string at just under 8lbs and sounds thunderous with the GHS flats currently on the bass - can be changed to rounds if preferred though.

The upgraded pickups to Aguilar really makes this bass  sing and whilst I primarily used it for deeper sounds of ska and reggae it does other genres exceptionally well with a great rock and slap tone. The action is buzz free and very low. The neck has some lovely wood figuring and it plays super smooth. Comes with the Ibanez gig bag.

Just simply a great bass all in all but surplus now as I use my ultralite Sandberg for my rare foreays into 5 string territtory and this beauty is waisted just being unused.

  3. Got this in a trade last year and it’s been the living room amp ever since as I got some other nice gear around the same time which I mostly gig. This beauty is clearly a bit of an overkill and it’s far too good to be ‘just’ the living room rig!

What can I say, it’s the full Markbass 500w sound into the 12”, and  it’s very, very loud with a separate powered tweeter. Most definitely an all in one combo solution and a one hand carry. The handle is worn but fully functional-easily obtained from Markbass if wanting a new one.

The amp itself has a great tone as you’d expect given Mr Carons put his name to it-this really is a quality bit of MB kit…and I’ll repeat again…it is very, very loud! A nice defined smooth loud too.

    Markbass spec: Link

A bargain at £350 collected from Plymouth or willing to discuss couriers at cost to the buyer, or possible meet up the southern ends of the M5.
May consider trades, ideally after a Markbass NY151, either 4 or 8ohm, would also swap for a MB Jeff Berlin combo, or newer type MB 1x12 or 2x10 energy or pure. Possibly a Markbass or Darkglass amp. Possibly also interested in something 4 string Stingray ish for the home studio with a bit of cash either way.

Any idea on the year was this one made?

Sorry, I’ve not been able to ascertain this and I am reluctant to take it apart. Talk bass suggest they have a 250ASX2 if that means anything. There are no markings, or anything in the manual to suggest the age.

I've owned a Tecamp Puma 900 and as others have said its great piece of gear. That taste knob just works! 👍 Which Mesa are you getting?

What Mesa did you get @Raslee ?

Just received the Subway D-800 and trying it now in my lunch break. First impressions is the Mesa’s baked in sound is a lot warmer than the Puma which will probably suit the mostly ska reggae and prog material I’m doing of late. However I can get a similar tone with the Puma. On the face of it so far, I’d say the Tecamp Puma has more overall flexibility and does a better modern tone if needed, and the fan is louder on the Mesa. Never owned a Mesa until now. Found the Tecamp box and manual too. IMG_0666.thumb.jpeg.52d2caabafe13d2c4bf75285cb19172c.jpeg

Absolutely amazing amps, l bought the same model from ossyrocks on here at Basschat and l couldn't be happier!

It's made my 2 other amps redundant tbh. Light, powerful and you can dial in or out any tone you want and the taste control is a revelation. Glwts but you won't need it mate....

You guys are making me have second thoughts 😂. The Mesa arrives tomorrow so will be rigorously A/B ing to see which one stays! I do love this Tecamp for sure, so powerful and great tone every time.

  7. I use the Elf into a Markbass Pure 4 ohm 2x10”. It’s a superlight and loud rig.  One of the bands I play with is a loud ska punky band and I’m yet to go past half way on my volume.

  8. SOLD 😊
Amazing high quality and reliable loud amp! Only selling as I’ve just bought a Mesa that will do 2ohms, which I need.
Excellent condition, 900w at  4ohms and I think 600w at 8ohms. Really does sound superb! RATM sticker removable…my attempt to be down with the kids but was told by the ‘yout’ RATM is now considered Grandad music..ahem!

Comes with newish Eich amp case (Eich used to be called Tecamp).

£375 or collect from Plymouth. May trade for Markbass NY151 cab or possibly MB 12” combo. IMG_0660.thumb.jpeg.c908f56e256db402efa216672e60a5a9.jpeg

  9. I have 2 Sandberg superlights, 4 and a 5, and a Spector RST, all under 6.6lbs…absolute joyous and sound great IMO…helped with shoulder and back pain  tremendously. For the rig I’m using a Markbass Pure 4ohm 2x10 and an Elf, again superlight and pretty decent sound. Just made a really nice Paulowina P bass which is 7lbs…really chuffed how it came out with a lovely light roasted neck off eBay…total cost around £300 with Geezer Emg.

  10. What an absolute bargain! Still got mine and refer to it as the ‘Rolls Royce’ for obvious reason that it’s just simply class. I remember A/Bing it against a MB LMT before a gig last year and the difference was night and day…the Eden had ‘heft’ (there you go I’ve said it 😳)and I gigged it with a big smile being able to really feel the bass coming out my speakers. Will be gigging mine again in a few weeks, can’t wait. I agree, one of the best amps ever made along with the Eden WT800’s.
