I'd always read glowing reports about Eden amps but hadn't ever had the pleasure and very rarely heard one live. Eventually an older USA made WT800 came up at an affordable price so I snagged it. It needed quite a bit of sorting out but once that was done 'Oh My Lord!' what a fabulous sounding thing it is. Tone is to die for and everything is clear as a bell. It seems impossible to get a bad sound out of it (and I have tried out of curiosity).

Big Eden fan here! Many amps come and go but the Eden WT550 surpasses them all 😁

Received my CAR 5 string a few weeks ago and only just had the chance to do the decal change and also put a carbon vinyl wrap on the scratchplate as the plain white was booooring!sadred1.thumb.jpg.3b1366255627a711870c1fba40895a6b.jpgsadred2.thumb.jpg.0e31e986099f09f9076b2a157ff4c7a8.jpgsadred.thumb.jpg.b62180d25d99a0943a454d9a01319128.jpg

Looks stunning, love the wrap too. What’s the weight like on the 5’s ?

  3. Furthering the cull of my heavier basses, this beauty is 9.7lbs and is causing me back pain unlike my lighter basses. A bit gutted as this bass looks and sounds great and is far too nice to live in my home studio only (got my beater P for that!) - it needs to be out to breath with the loads of tonal flexibility. This bass is also pretty much immaculate, only been used for a handful of times. Plays beautifully with an unusual combination of a rosewood/cherry fret board and a bit of Birdseye throughout too - a classy bass.

    F/S £300 collected

F/T Looking for a Class D Amp of at least 700Watts + ( i need the headroom for a reggae project), preference for a more hifi modern type - could add around £300 ish to upgrade i.e. Genzler, Darkglass etc, or a Darkglass D112N cab.

    Typical G&L blurb:

When Leo Fender† launched the G&L L•2000 bass in 1980, it was clear he was ready to make history all over again. Never before had such a wide range of tones come from a single bass, and throughout its evolution the iconic L•2000 has continued to win the hearts of bassists of every style and musical taste.

The foundation of the L•2000 is a pair of G&L Magnetic Field Design humbuckers backed by the flexible Tri-Tone control system,* providing the sort of versatility that’ll let you find your tone no matter what kind of bass line you’re laying down. The Tri-Tone system features a trio of mini toggles for pickup selection, series/parallel signal routing and active/passive operation, as well as a trio of knobs for volume, treble and bass. With all that under the hood, Leo gave the L•2000 the kind of chops that’ll fit in any situation, from classic R&B to power-packed rock to poppin’ funk. What’s more, the L•2000 features an innovative Leo Fender-designed Saddle-Lock bridge to transfer string energy right into the body end-grain for an incredibly resonant instrument.

The Tribute® Series L•2000 delivers the magic of Leo’s revolutionary bass at a price attainable for every working musician. Once you play a G&L Tribute Series, you’ll never look back.

  4. Very chuffed with my second 1st Gen ME recently purchased from Thomann, can't believe it at only £349. It is also much lighter than a Sire in the same price range and the quality on this one is truly excellent, quiet electrics, a nice set up will low buzz free action, great fret work and a beautiful neck. Really happy with my decal job too :D

  5. Selling off a few of my heavier basses that i don't gig anymore. This is a lovely Yamaha BB414, 9.4lbs weight wise, fresh Elites strings, a few marks here and there but nothing tragic. Plays and sounds great like a good BB should. Has an upgraded Wilkinson bridge, i have the original too if required but the Wilkinson is much better.

Will also be selling the immaculate G&L L2000 in the last picture., £300 -can send more pics if required.

May consider a trade for a lighter 4 string fretted bass on either.

    SOLD

  6. Decided this too good to let go! If anyone has a second to sell do let me know :)

Having picked up a second Orange cab to go with my other this one is now surplus.

A brilliant high spec cab, lightweight, excellent condition, 500w @ 8ohms, nice custom cover

    Specs here:  https://www.darkglass.com/creation/dg112n/

    £375

May consider an amp head 500w+ or bass trade, - can add a small bit of cash if necessary.

  7. Funny how some basses sound dire at home, yet great in the live mix - and vice versa of course. So I’ve found this same phenomenon with my new Orange OBC112cab too - a little initially underwhelming at home, but my word at rehearsal it was thunderous, vintage sounds and just simply great. Now I’m thinking I may sell my Darkglass DG1x12 and get a second Orange….really didn’t see that one coming.

  8. Nice! Interestingly I’ve just ordered a OBC112, good deals at Promenade music. Looking forward to trying it out with my Terror bass. May sell my Darkglass 112 to get a second if I like it but the plan is to mix both initially.

  9. Continuing the sell off of unused gear this fretless is now up for sale. A fairly well respected bass in its day, the 80's Vox White Shadow certainly has the fretless 'mwah' tone in spades.

The good: The neck is beautiful and the truss rod was professionally repaired a few years back - actually i think there will be a thread on the repair lurking on here somewhere. Not sure what pickup i put in some years back  but it seems good and it does have a Sandberg preamp fitted, Vol, Treble & Bass - push/pull for passive. Excellent 'mwah'...i mean really good 'mwaaaaaaah', lots of tonal variety too with the preamp. Plays nice, low action. Made in Japan.

The bad: The body is 'dog rough'. It could do with a refinish although i used as is, albeit briefly when i found very quickly i couldn't play fretless well. It looks like it had a primer and was never completely finished. It was my intention to do it one day but never got around to it and then simply forgot. Stickers are easily removable.

Cheap nice playing fretless if you don't mind the body. £130 posted in the UK, will knock some off if collecting from Plymouth.

Used to do all my gigs through Eden amps at one time. The Nemesis 650 head which I sold, and I have an 8x10 450 combo which is too big for my car!

Really special amps. I wonder if this is a similar but in a more portable package.

Trying to remove bias as the seller,  in my view this does that 'David Eden' sound in spades - it's got that warmth but tight definition if that makes sense and like most Edens you just simply set everything  flat and use the Enhance to add the magic. This  EX speaker combination works really well too.

I've recently setup up my WT550 and David Eden 4x10 in my home recording setup and it makes me proper smile, but it will get the gig rig for the right gig. That super light stuff is for rehearsals  anyway right? 😂

    That's a lovely thing👍!

Thanks, yes sure is and a bit of a bargain if people knew what they were getting. A new American Pro jazz will cost north of £1500 these days. The Nordstrands really sound great too.

I’ve had some interest in fantasy social media land but it’s typically gone quiet, however they asked about the more traditional look. I took this photo with the various pickguards on I can swap out.
