3.
How much to post Marcus? Sadly I just don't think a meetup is likely to be feasible (though I may be in Leicester on 6 August, but on a motorbike!)
Hi not having a case for it posting is a little more troublesome than usual

I'd be happy to take the neck off and parcel it up, dare say that would around £20

    Cheers

  4.
I'll stick my oar in here, I used to have one of these and they really are great basses, when I got mine it cost another £100 and I still thought it was a bargain!
wise words :)

come on guys even with the credit crunch and impending recession £80 is nowt for a decent fretless !!

couple of people showing interest but nobody's put their cash down just yet !

    cheers

  5. Top bloke that Nicko......

I seem to recall a couple of basses changing hands over the years.....

He's one hell of a "Mark King Clone" either....... (an one of the first befor it got easy with Stuart's books)

He's been threatening for ages to put some Video's up, some rubbish about being too busy playing in theatre's depping and teaching..... sounds like B*ll*x to me :)

  6.
I had one of those burgundy 5s (35" scale) and it was a great bass but I can assure you I bought and subsequently sold it for less than that one... not a bargain in my opinion!
was that the one I got off you ?

Think the colour was "Black Cherry" ??

  7. Yes indeed there are dots at the fret position......

makes it pretty easy to reference,

I have to say after playing this bass i'm really into fretless and will at some point venture into the fretless world again.... and it'll be unlined again !

........the lads in the band were pretty impressed when I turned up for rehearsal and played a couple of numbers on an unlined fretless !!!

    Instant muso street cred :)

  8.
MB1. :)
Bloody Hell!....Billy Bargain?....thought he was still doing a 10 stretch for Armed Robbery?.....Sorry!.....,i'll get me coat!
he's still in strangeways last I heard from him !

    How you doin Martin ?

Treat this as a bump.... I'd knock the price down but at £80 it's too cheap anyway

    ok then £80 ovno

  9. Hi Guys,

I purchased from this forum just 8 weeks ago a rather nice Vintage Fretless PJ

currently strung with Rotosound Flats it's a great entry into fretless

only little issue is the nut has a piece chipped off the side, this doesn't affect the secure location of the string in the slot in any way, but I wanted to mention it

GAS is attacking so it's up for grabs at a stupid price of £80 ONO - these sell in the shops at £239 and represent great value at that !

    Price Drop to £70 collected

NB the colour is best represented by the first photo, very Warwick Thumb sort of vibe !!

  10. GAS Attacks !!!

I need to move some gear to make way for a new incoming Bass.....

This is a top of the line Pro UHF True Diversity Wireless system not to be confused with the cheaper systems out there.

I have previously used the Sennheiser EW172 system with decent results however this piece of Kit is in a different league all together

A/B'd against a monster lead at home there is a subtle change in tone...... no loss at all, just a very slight alteration, similar to what you could expect from an AB comparison with 2 high quality leads

The System comprises the Audio Technica AEW R4100 Reciever & thhe Audio Technica AEW T1000 Belt Pack Transmitter

Untill recently this was a £1000 package, however you can now buy the system for the following prices online...

    R4100 Transmitter £449

my Price for Quick sale is a Crazy £300 plus Shipping

The units are in shop condition and have never been used outside my front room !

  11.
Yes - he used one early on in the Police, before he decided everything made after 1960 was crap.
my thoughts exactly..... :)

  12. Thanks for the contribution to the thread...... good debate

IMHO - Bass Player it too high brow and aimed at the pro player. (it's only recently they started to include Tab in their transcriptions) From a journalistic perspective I can see why it has it's followers

BGM seems a little more broader in it's appeal with plenty content for the hobbyist...... there has been some decent product reviews and profiles but from my point of view plenty of interesting ground not yet covered.
