Bravo Mr Del Var 👏 a quality tune. And not the only one, really tough to narrow it down to a top three.
Onwards to the random tombola of covers for Christmas, marvellous! 🌲

Here's my entry for November. It's a slow, mellowish instrumental with lots of chiming guitar to try and get that twinkly, night sky, relaxing feeling while everyone else is doing the heavy lifting to put things in order.
A Looperman sample for drums, Epiphone guitar with lots of echo effects, home-made cigar box guitar, violin bass and a tiny smidge of keys. Recorded using NCH Wavepad and Audacity.

Welcome to my world 🥴 it rarely ends up as I first thought it might but I plough on regardless and usually end up with something approaching listenable 😁

In my last band myself and the vocalist (40+) were always trying to get the other two (drummer 50+, guitarist 20+) to play songs that were not necessarily ones we were desperate to do but tunes that everybody knows but hardly anyone does, things like' Bonkers' by Dizzee Rascal or some dance banger that we thought would get the room jumping, something a bit more modern. You could easily come up with an arrangement for this sort of stuff as we had done in a previous band with' Breathe' by The Prodigy which always went down well. But, no, let's just do another AC/DC track instead. Very frustrating. We even ended up doing 'Johnny B Goode', fer chrissake.
On a personal level, It is with deep regret that I've never had the chance to perform one of the greatest noises ever committed to vinyl, 'Bikini Girls With Machine Guns' by The Cramps. However, I have played 'Another Girl, Another Planet' many times so it's swings and roundabouts, I guess.

Tally Ho, here's my 3 minutes worth for this month.
Hello, I'm Johnny Trash. The image brought to mind the rising sea levels and the consequences of climate change. However, I'm a glass half full kind of guy and that struck me as far too morose so instead I went with a country tinged toe-tapper about a train trip gone awry and the narrator more worried about his lack of Adam Peatyesque prowess and getting to his journey's end. Where was he hoping to get to, though?
Epiphone guitar, Westfield bass, Hohner harmonica and drums programmed with Hydrogen. Vox Apogee Mic+. Recorded with Audacity and Wavepad for that wax cylinder clarity that I'm accustomed to. No auto-tuning has been harmed in the making of this ditty.
Lyrics hidden below.
SpoilerThe Train Kept a Sinkin'
Hello, I'm Johnny Trash.
Hey daughter, hey daughter,
Why the hell are we under water?
We were on dry land when we got on the train,
I just had a little slumber,
And now we're two leagues under,
I see dolphins swimming around outside the window pane.
Now when I paid my fare,
I didn't know I was heading for Neptune's lair,
But here we are at the bottom of the sea,
It's a tricky situation,
Being surrounded by crustaceans,
And I don't think we're going to get to where we want to be.
Hey daughter, hey daughter,
I really think we oughta,
Get out of here real quick or things may turn out grim,
Can't get off at the next town,
There's a real big chance that I'll drown,
'Cus you know it's true that I never learned how to swim.
Got our tickets in my hand,
But things just haven't worked out as planned,
I doubt that we'll get to our destination,
What a rotten public service,
We're nowhere near the surface,
And we're missing out on our trip to the aquarium.
And now to listen to all your splendid efforts, you clever Trevors.

So let me throw this into the mix - when I have a learn a new song I listen to it repeatedly until I can hum/sing the bassline by heart before ever picking up the bass. Discuss 🧨
Sounds sensible. If it's a complicated part I'll break it down in sections and work out a chunk at a time.

Anyone want to form an 80s tribute act? I've just listened to Now That's What I Call Music! Volumes 1 through to 15 and can play all the songs on them now.
Wish I hadn't, the 80s were shyte.
